Kyle was a bit flustered by Raya's forward attitude. "Ah...well then, I thank you for your support in this. Hopefully another priest will arrive soon and we can go back to hunting the evil undead."

He looked around the old cathedral. "For now, though, I'll do what I can to strengthen the holy barrier of this place. If possible, I'd like to ask you to help Kalina repair the damage to the doors that those rogue Trancers did."

she nodded and started to work on the doors. she was working hard and fast.
she was nailing two peaces of wood together when her hand sliped and she cought her finger on a sharp eadg and cut it. "owww" she wailed then covered her finger with her hand.

:Ariana watched as Raya left the group to go back. She looked about and decided to follow her, not really keen on the idea of leaving the area by the church. Once she got there and saw Raya blushing and kind of tripping over Father Kyle, and she giggled. Once Raya was occupied with the door she took that as an opportunity to talk to Father Kyle alone.:

"Hey Father Kyle. I decided as well not to go with Charles and the others. What with my blackouts I'm afraid I would put them in danger."

:She kind of looked at the ground, a bit upset at her own helplessness.:

Kyle chuckled silently. "Poor Charles...his followers, as it were, are leaving him one by one. I will do my best to aid you during these...blackouts of yours, Ariana. The Church exists to aid those in need, despite what you think."

He noticed as Raya cut herself and rushed over, wrapping the cut in the edge of his stole. "Are you alright? Here, come to the washroom so we can clean that cut. I don't need nor wish for anyone to get an infection, as we lack the means for proper treatment."

raya nodded and smiled softly. "ok...but i think i will be ok." she said softly

:Ariana looked at Raya over from where she stood. She shook her head, feeling kind of sad for Raya. She had no idea what kind of "lovely" mess she was trying to get into.:

Yawning, she steched a bit where she stood, and wandered her way over to the door Raya had not finished fixing due to injury. She picked up what ever tools she was using and went at it herself, fixing the problem that cut Raya.:

raya looked at her hand as the cut slowly faded. her eyes widdened a bit and she stoped.
"D*** it...the demons power is still with me." she said quietly. she looked at father and smiled. "dont worry the demons power will go away soon" she said to him.


back in the forest close to the church rai crowched down by the grass.
she growled a bit. and her ears lay back. "stupid humans"

Kyle looked at Raya with concern. "A demon's power is never something to be taken lightly, my child. This fiendish essence must be purged as quickly as possible, so as not to risk corrupting your immortal soul."

He turn on his heel, striding quickly to a storeroom for this church's holy artifacts. Surely there would be some items there which would make an exorcism easier. He noted that Ariana was regarding her completed work with pride. "Well done, my child. I thank you for your efforts, despite your hatred of the church, warranted or not."

"yes i know fahter" she said softly and blushed. her cut was still bleeding a bit. and she licked the blood from her finger. she walked back with father kyle.

rai moved forweard coming into the clearing she smiled slily and laughed a bit.
"hello humans." she said standing up after kneling.
her ears twitched a bit. she looked at father kyle and then at raya.

Nikki was slightly confused.
I guess it's just the three of us now, Charles, she said, glancing at the Insect Demon.

Charles nodded and looked at the insect demon. He knew quite well who it was and would not mention it to Nikki unless she had to know.

"I suppose that it is, but that may be for the best." He said as they walked down to the outpost.

"trying to fix a church eh?" she said then sat on a peace of wood
raya smirked "why would you care demon? all you would care about is destroying it" raya said looking at the demon sharply.
"calm down human...jeez" rai said sighing.

Once inside of the dark building Charles heard the sound of a gun cocking. He looked to see hooch standing there with a large cabular pistol in his hand.

"Charles I think that you remember that trancers can die like humans. So I don't have to waste a silver bullet. Now... Tell me what brings you here if I didn't know?" Hooch asked.

Nikki squeaked at the sound of the gun cocking and her hand flew to her sash.
~I'm not taking any chances!~ she thought, keeping her eyes on Hooch. The Insect Demon didn't react, however, and just stood there.

A silver throwing knife buries itself to the hilt in the ground, less than a centimeter away from the neko demon's foot. Kyle strode forward to stand next to Raya. "What brings yeh here, hellspawn, to the edge o' this holy ground? Answer quickly, for Ah would gladly destroy yeh to purify the world of yere taint. The only reason I have no' yet is the fact that Raya doesn't attack yeh on sight, and Ah'd like an answer to that as well."

hooch watched the girl and sighed. He acted as though what she was doing was a little too late.

"Hooch I need to find the rest of the book." Charles stated flatly. in the back he could hear a laugh and then heard the walk. he swallowed the lump in his troat and prepared for what he knew was coming.

"The little erran boy is still serving his masters?" Lydia's voice said from behind them. It sounded sweet and and dangerous at the same time. Charles knew from experence that she was more than a handful for anyone to handle. and the fact that she hung around hooch made her more dangerous.

"The order needs the book. And I need to pay pendence for what I've done in the past. This is the only way to bring things right and you know it." He said sounding a little more confident than he accually was.

"A moldly old book won't send the vamps back into the abyss. And what about us? Not every monster is infact a monster." Lydia said as she came into the light.

Charles looked at her skin for the second time since he had met her. She was wearing a small bath robe and her hair was wet and sticking to her face and neck. He remembered how her face and skin seemed to remind him of a porclin doll and suddenly he turned away.

"Has living inside of Rott City caused you to get some morels? Why at one time you would have been all over me. Or is it your little friend?" she asked seemly full of her self.

:Ariana stood by the door as she watched Father Kyle throw the knife. She frowned a bit, and she wandered up to them.:

"What's going on here father? Is there a problem?"

rai looked up at the other lady. "hello miss" she said smirking a bit then walked foweard.

A sword blade sweeps through the air, stopping just short of Rai's throat. "Ah don' know who ye are, or where ye've coom from. I honestly don' care. Ye are on holy ground, and I'll no' stan' for et, hellspawn. Young or no', ye're a stain on God's good earth."

raya looked at the young demon. "wait dont go...not yet..i could use some help from you." she said reaching her arm out to the girl.

Kyle's eyes widened in shock, then narrowed. "Ah would very much like an explanation, Raya. What is this monster to ye?"

raya turned her head to father. "kyle...she is just a child...what could she do to us?" she said softly then looked at rai.
"plus...i for some reson...know her...from some where." she kneelt down and held out her hand to rai.
rai looked at her for she had never exspereanced kidness befor. she slowly took rayas hand and smiled.

Kyle said nothing at first, merely resheathing his sword and retrieving his knife. As he turned to go back into the church, however, he said one thing. "Just remember, Raya, that children grow up."

ray stood up and ran twords kyle she went infront of him and stoped him.
"father...please just for a lil bit...till i find out where she comes from and how i know her...please" she said looking at him softly then quikly got on her tippy toes and kissed him deeply.

Kyle went rigid with shock and horror, but gently pushed Raya back. "Please, Raya, do not do this to yourself. I am a man of the cloth, and as such cannot return your feelings. To do so would break my oath to the Lord and to the Church."

He looked back at the demon, frowning slightly, then shook his head. "Keep a close eye on her. The moment she begins to show signs of her true nature I will purge her from this earth, but for now you may discover what you can. Be sure to keep her away from the holy aura of the church, for that will cause her great pain if she enters that aura."

He went into the church then, fighting to put Raya and the kiss from his mind. He made his way back to the confessional to cleanse his soul of such thoughts and feelings. "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned. Though I strive to remain pure and objective, I am but an imperfect human, and as such am subject to the evils of flesh. Please help me to resist such temptations, Lord, for to submit to them would bring ruin. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, amen." Kyle crossed himself, rose, and exited the confessional, feeling only slightly better than he did before. He had much work ahead of him, and that work would be harder when contesting his attraction to the exotic demon slayer.

:Ariana just kind of stood back and watched what was going on. She was actually more on Father Kyle's side for this one. She tried to ignore that Raya had kissed Father Kyle, and sighed softly as she went back into the chruch.:

:She thought to herself, looking for Father Kyle, and bumping into him as he came out of the confessional.:

"Oh, sorry."

:She bowed a bit and started to move around him to find a place to lay down, but stopped to talk to him for a moment.:

"Please be causious Father Kyle. Of both Raya and that girl. Raya seems that she can be a danger to herself, and that little girl seems to be strong enough to help her lose herself."

Kyle steadied Raya after she bumped into him. "Easy, my child. Take care as you move through life. Let the Lord guide your steps and you shall never falter. Now, if you'll excuse me..."

He turned away, only to have Ariana run into him this time. He laughed "Dear me, have a suddenly gained the gravity of another planet? Or do you two have some mysterious vendetta against me?"

He considered Ariana's words. He lowered his voice to speak quietly with her. "I have been keeping a close watch on all of you, for you all go against everything I have learned through life. My views are changing, but old habits die hard."

He was distracted by a fluttering sound up above. He looked up to see a messenger hawk descending to perch on his shoulder. "Well well well, what do we have here?"

He extracted the message, quickly scanning the tight Latin script. A small smile appeared on his face. "The Vatican has granted my wish. This hawk is from the replacement. He states that he is less than a day away from here, so as soon as he appears we can leave to join up with the others again." That thought caused the smile to change to a frown. 'Since when did I look forward to joining up with heathens and monsters? Just how much have I changed?'

:Ariana caught the faulter and his frown. She put a hand on his shoulder. She kind of took a guess as to what was bothing him.:

"Sometimes, Father, change is good. It provides a better perspective of the world, and allows for you to grow. Hopefully the changes in all our lives will turn out for the better for this world."

:Ariana smiled at him. She herself had changed in just a matter of one night. She had managed to realize that the church was never really at fault. That she just needed something to be mad at for what happened when she was a child.:

Kalina watched as the two girls made their way about.

I don't trust those two, she whispered to Nemi, who was invisible beside her.

Dear Kalina, remember the commandments. Forgive them for what they do. I wish the one would stop pestering Father, though. He is a holy man, not able to return love. I feel for him... Nemi whispered, glancing out at Raya and Rai.

I'm going to see if Father Kyle needs any help! Kalina exclaimed, shacking off the feelings about the girls.

~I miss that other woman, the one who was with the trancer... she thought as she raced up to the paladin.

Father, do you need any assistance? she asked, looking warily at Ariana.

:Ariana looked at the girl. Ariana could just tell she didn't trust her, but she wasn't sure why. She hadn't done anything to offend the girl. But she shrugged it off and nodded to Father Kyle.:

"I'll leave you be for now. I'm going to go lay down. I'm rather tired."

raya waited til rai was asleep and then got up. she was heading inside when she triped on a step and fell smaking her head on the pavment.
she quikly passed out her body sprawled out on the steps. and she had four cuts on her head making it look like claw marks.

Kyle beamed at Kalina. "You can pack up your things and some supplies, because we can finally get back to what we were sent to do, which is to eradicte the vermin from God's good earth. The replacement priest should be arriving soon. Maybe I'll go and wait for him outside."

He stepped out of the big doors, only to almost trip over the unconscious Raya. He immediately noticed the blood on the steps. "Raya?! RAYA!! Wake up! Lord, I beg of you, do not take this child to your bossum just yet. Not before she has had the chance to be cleansed."

Turning her over to get a look at the wound, he noted the four ugly slashes across her head. "So...that's it, is it?" Carefully gathering her in his arms, he carried Raya into the church. Laying her on the thick carpet which lined the aisle, he called Kalina and Ariana over. "Do what you can to help her. I have business to attend to."

Stepping out again, He drew his swords, advancing on the slumbering form of the cat demon. He stopped short, however, at the sight of a lone figure walking down the path. Father Kyle recognized the figure. His swords slipped from his fingers, clattering to the ground and awakening the demon, and he bowed down on one knee. "Master..."

"Come now, Kyle, the master/apprentice relationship ended when you were ordained. Now we are equals."

Kyle looked up. "Master Inigo, I will never be your equal, not even if you were to grow old, senile, arthritic, and paralyzed from the neck down."

the young demon woke up quikly and staired at father.
she rubed her eyes slightly. "hmm whats going on?" she yawned a lil
she looked at the swor on the ground an then a father and the other man.
"oh..whats going on" she seemed a bit concerned.
((i forgot about her pets)) rayas crow pearched atopthe church and her white mink currled up in a ball by the church. demos looked at the humans and demon and cawed.

Kyle rose, picking up his swords, and turned back to the hapless neko. "Foul creature, your evil taint shall be purged from this earth!" He prepared to slice, but a commanding voice spoke.

"Kyle, stop this!"

"B-but Master!"

"If you insist on calling me Master then you will obey me as an apprentice must! I command you to sheathe you blades!"

Kyle hesitated for a moment, then did as he was ordered. "Master, this creature is a stain on the Lord's creation. She is a killer!"

"Really? Looks like a child to me."

"Looks can be deceiving. She attacked Raya. The proof is on Raya's forehead."

"Like you said, looks can be deceiving. Let me take a look at the wound." Without waiting for an answer he walked into the church. Things had happened so fast that the two girls had not had time to begin treating Raya's wound. "Stand aside, my children. I must examine this."

Peering closely at the four slashes, he soon straightened up. "These are no cat scratches."

"What? A-are you sure?"

"Positive. There is grit in the wound."

"Well, she was unconscious on the steps. She probably got it from there. What proof is that, that there is grit? It still could be the demon."

"No, Kyle, it couldn't. The demon had no blood on its claws. I saw that when she woke up and stretched."

Kyle was dumbfounded. "You...you saw that in that brief time, in the poor light?"

"Of course."

Kyle fell to his knees. "Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned."

"I am not the one you should be asking forgiveness from." He nodded toward the doors, toward the neko which waited outside.

Kyle stood and walked out once again. He dropped down before the demon. "Forgive me, child, for I have spoken slander of you."

Father Inigo Montoya winked at the two girls. "He's a bit too hardheaded, is Father Kyle O'Torrin, but he has a good heart."

Kyle forced himself to bite back the words he wanted to throw at the demon before him. Instead, he remained silent, rose to his feet, and turned back to the church. Inside he fumed. 'How could this foul creature ever begin to comprehend mankind's constant struggle against the Dark Prince? To speak no nonchallantly of things like that...' His fingers twitched toward the hilts of his swords, but he forced down the impulse.

Stepping into the comforting confines of the church, Kyle found Father Inigo putting the final knot in the bandage on Raya's head. "Will she be alright, Master?"

Father Inigo looked at Kyle in exasperation. "What do I need to do to get you to stop calling me Master?" He shook his head, then addressed the question. "She should be fine, as long as she regains consciousness."

Kyle nodded. "Thank you for everything, Master."

"Stop calling me Master! Bah, I'm going out to check on that little girl. You watch your friend, Kyle."

"But...pff...alright."

Father Inigo strode down the path, approaching the anxious neko. "Your friend looks like she's going to make it, with the Lord's blessing." He noted the slight wince at the mention of the Lord. He offered a hand. "You have not vanished from His eye, child. He still loves you, and mourns that you are not with him. Leave the shadows to come back to the light. He will welcome you with open arms, for His love knows no bounds."

Father Inigo patted Rai's shoulder. "Child, you did nothing wrong. Father Kyle O'Torrin is a good man, but a bit too thorough in his work, and a bit too hard-headed to change in a hurry. He sees you only as a demon, the spawn of Satan, and as such his enemy. He cannot see past his prejudice to see the young, frightened girl beneath, one who only need a helping hand and a guiding light. The moment he puts aside his precnceived notions is the day he will exceed me, but until then I will be better than he, and I must put up with him calling me Master all the time, despite the fact that we are officially equals in the ranks of the Church."

Father Inigo smiled. "Everyone, no matter how far they have descended into darkness, can be saved. The Lord loves all of His children, and you need only return to Him to be welcomed back with open arms."

He looked back at the church, but was looking more through the closed doors at Father Kyle. "Father Kyle is a return to the olden days of the Catholic Church, when it was felt that all non-Catholics were heretics and monsters, fit only to be destroyed. We have moved on through necessity, for the human race is in danger if we cannot work together. I could even go so far as to say he is an evolutionary throw-back in the Church, but his commitment to his duty cannot be questioned. Everything he does, he does for the Church, but he needs to expand that sense of duty to the entire world before he can truly become great. I think his meeting with the strange group which he mentioned in his last message has begun the process of expanding his mind and heart. Only time can tell."

:Ariana got up from the small cot she found to sleep on. Rubbing her eyes she wandered outside for a breath of air. When she did she saw the new face, Father Inigo, and Rai speaking. But did not say anything. She did not want to interupt.:

"i dont want to be a demon any more!" she said the quikly burried her face into his clothing. "i was the one who helped kill rayas family!...it was me who led the vampires...the shouldnt be killed! i should!" she started to sob

A snort sounded behind Father Inigo. Father Kyle stood in the doorway of the church. "So is this what the army of the Prince of Darkness has become? Our job just became a lot easier."

"Indeed it has, for instead of fighting them we can save them, release them from Lucifer's service."

"Release? The only release they're going to get is when my sword releases them from their hold on this world."

"You really are a fool, aren't you, Kyle?"

"Am I? This creature has just admitted she willingly slaughtered Raya's family."

"An action she deeply regrets. She wants out of that life, and it is our job, as the Hands of God, to aid her in this endevour." He lifted Rai
s face. "The path will not be an easy one to walk, however. I will not lie to you, the road to Heaven is long and narrow, and it is easy to fall off. Know that I walk with you, however, and I shall do everything I can to guide your step."

Lydia bowed slightly and then grinned. her K9 teeth showing brightly. Unlike the turned werewolves her fangs never completely dissapeared. instead they mearly retracted slightly. She circled around them for a moment and then walked toward Hooch.

"forgive me for my assumption. I mearly thought that you where following him into this wildress because of some attraction or misguided emontion. believe me while it might seem worth it..." She said before Hooch raised his hand in protest and she quit mid sentance.

Lydia then walked toward the back and opened a door. The sound of running water could be heard and she slipped back into the bathroom and began cleaning herself again.

"You will have to forgive her. Lydia feels quite strongly about things. She is a decent person and loyal to a fault, but when she feels that she has been betrayed... The old saying hell hath no fury like a woman scorned was written with her in mind." Hooch said as he looked at Charles and began pulling old maps from his shelves. He placed them on the table and then rolled them out. the maps where from various points in the tangled history of man. Some where fairly recent from the past 50 or years, others where from ancient times.

"Charles what you seek excests. I know it does, because something like that book doesn't just disappear. The vampires wouldn't destroy it but rather would collect it and see what this promised one would do to them. The lythros would likely use it to hunt down the promised one, and the traditionals would use it's information to gain a stronger hold on humanity. However my connections to all species tells me that such is not the case." He said as he traced various pinpoints on the maps. Slowly his finger came to rest on a place further down from them. Country side now controlled by an elder vampire. The place was known for traps, human slaves, vast flesh parties held by younger vampires in the elder's honor.

"This is the place where another part of the book is. by tracking our profects life and the places where the knights of templar traveled I would say that they hid it here. This was once a strong hold and they would have wanted to keep it safe." Hooch said.

"That's right in the middle of haggins land." Charles said.

"yes I know, and you will need weapons. I have the best here and suggest that you look around. but remember I need compasation not the word of the order." hooch said as he watched Charles.

Lydia stood in the shower. She watched the falling water run down her features. She was glad that she walked back into the shower, because at least he couldn't see her crying. her fist balled up and she struck the side of the stall. Her inhanced strenght bent the stainless steel stall, but didn't puncher it.

"Damn it why?!!" She asked herself.

Her back leaned against the wall as she slid down it. Her arms crossed across her breasts as she sat in the bottom of the stall weeping.

"I loved him damn it. I LOVED HIM!!!! And then he betrayed me like that. He gave my location to those butchers, and left me open for death." She thought to herself as she sat there.

For what seemed like a thousand years she sat alone beating herself up over the mistake of befriending Charles. She mentally cursed herself for sharing her home, food, bed, and body with him. She didn't lie to the human girl when she said that he was a wonderful lover, but she didn't want to think on it. Each time she thought of them a pain ripped through her chest.

Slowly she rose and turned off the stall. And although the time seemed to have lasted forever she knew only a few minutes had passed and that he was still here. Her body told a story of desire and longing, but her mind told one of betrayial, and cruelity. She walked over to the towels hanging in the bathroom and took one. She dried herself off and thought of Hooch.

The human had taken her in even though he knew little of her. He was a decent man, but asked nothing from her in exchange. The only thing he asked of her ever was that she simply pick up after her self. Still she provided him protection. Even if not asked for it she wanted him to feel safe. She grabbed her clothes and put them on. She stood in the mirror looking at the slick black hunter clothes. The meger armor on it made it obvious that she had little fear from enemies. At least it was suppose to protray that. After a few moments of grooming herself and deciding that she looked acceptial she opened the door and walked out.

Hooch looked up as he watched her emirge from the bathroom. He knew part of what she was doing was putting on a show. Though he would never admit it he had seen her cry before when alone. He could only guess what Charles had ment to her and decided that the Trancer had taken more than her trust. He shook his head. Even in this time of savage war and death there where still rules that gentlemen needed to follow. And while Charles was a decent enough person he had proved that he was no gentleman.

Nikki watched Lydia leave and return, with a hnt of hostility in her eyes. Her hand never left her sash, and her eyes were trained on th Lythro. The Insect Demon moved towards Hooch, and made a few mumbing sounds.

Father Kyle strode out of the church, his back strapped firmly on his back, his weapons all easily accessable. "Well, Master, you have fun taming your new pet demon. By God's will we shall meet again."

"Meet again? What are you talking about?"

"I'm off to meet a a couple of hunters I met before. You are here to take over the duties of this church, are you not? Then you will be staying here, whereas I will continue my travels."

"I'm doing no such thing. I am not the replacement priest." Father Inigo gazed up the path. "Yes, here he comes now."

"What?" Kyle turned his gaze to follow Inigo's. Sure enough, a figure with clearly Asian features was walking down the path. The man was old, yet still emitted an aura of authority. "So..."

"This is Bishop Harikava Takeshi. I was accompanying him on his journey to take over the duties of this church. The Vatican wishes to reintroduce the diocese here, and so Bishop Takeshi will be securing the immediate area, then start training desciples to expand the Church's influence here." Father Inigo chuckled. "I was sent for two reasons: to protect Bishop Takeshi, and to keep an eye on you."

"B-but Master! Are you saying...they don't trust me?"

"Oh, they trust you, Kyle. They trust you to be absolute in your duty, but they also know you to be too far into one extreme. My duty in this is to bring you middle ground." Father Inigo picked up his pack, to which was strapped his expertly-crafted rapier, silver and blessed by the Pope himself. "Now, shall we be going?"

((In actuality, Father Inigo was orignally going to be the replacement. I've grown too attached to him, though, because he's such a counterpoint to Father Kyle's fanaticism.

By the way, Kalina, wow does my acting as Catholic priests rate thus far?))

Kalina rushed out to see Father Kyle, giving the other priest a good look.

Father, are we leaving now? she asked. Nemi hovered near Kyle, only visible to the paladin.

I hope we have time to train, though. I don't have much to offer if we are attacked...

Lydia watched both Nikki and Charles as she walked toward the outside. She grabbed the large silver boomarang by its cloth tie and held it ready to fling it if some unwanted visitor came to them. She could hear them inside and knew that the insect demon was attempting to tell Hooch something. But at the same time she was certain that someone would have to translate for him.

(Kali-chan I do hope that you don't mind if I make Hooch able to understand to some degree what Cam wants.)

Hooch waited for the insect demon to finish talking and then reached behind him. He pulled down three different and powerful weapons. The first looked to be little more than a air horn you would have found in one of the old football games. Hooch pressed the button and fire that was white and blue escaped from its mouth. The next weapon looked to be a strange crossbow. The figure on the back was one of a crufix and the darts where a strange mixture of balsa wood and silver nitrate, Lastly was three small spears. Hooch looked at them all.

"Blue Dragon flame thrower, multiple vampire, and lythro crossbow, and of course blinding light bombs. You know your stuff mister. But this might be out of Charles' price range." Hooch said as he looked at Charles.

"Hooch I didn't know that you carried weapons like this." Charles said as he eyed the powerful weapons infront of them.

"I make weapons for all kinds, and these are made for hunters. I get them in here every so often and they always want weapons of this kind. It does get harder to make the dragon fire though." Hooch said as he began to pick up the flame thrower.

"Nikki are you alright?" Charles asked knowing that something might be bothering her.

Lydia stood outside in the quiet world. She waited for something to come when she heard a sound not far away. She launched the boomarang at the sound and waited. Within moments the weapon returned stained with blood and she watched as six lythros stepped out into the open. one of them was missing part of an arm and what remained of it had turned back to being human.

"Trator!!" it growled at her.

"I'm not a trator. I just choose to live in peace with the mortals." She said simply.

"That makes you a trator." It responded.

The lythros began to surround her. walking causiously closer. she launched the weapon again and realized to late it was what they wanted. Certainally the weapon had caught one of the lythros in the mid section and killed him, but the others now the chance to get the jump on her. She growled and her fangs extended as they came closer. Suddenly one of them grabbed her arm and began ripping at her hunter's suit. The others followed in like and she faught hard to attempt to escape. They flung her into a tree and ran over. She felt them ripping at her armor and realized that they wheren't going to kill her yet. They where going to attempt to break her. She screamed in anger and fear...

Charles heard the scream from inside and ran out. He grabbed a silver stake from one of Hooch's displays and launched it at a lythro. The Lythro turned back to a human from the pain and reaction to the silver. At that moment Charles transformed into a trancer and grabbed the lythro draining the lifeforce from him. The others turned and looked at him. They knew better than to fight a trancer unaided and knew to take him down they needed to do it as a pack.

Lydia slowly got up from the ground. Those beasts had nearly "had" her. she shivered as she thought of their dirty paws roaming over her. She growled again in anger and picked up her fallen weapon. running over to them she crushed one of their heads in. It fell to the ground, brains leaking from the wound. The others taking stock from this fight decided to run and leave. They left their weakened comrad to the female lythro and trancer. Lydia walked toward Charles. His once kind face now that of a trancer. She knew that at this moment he was both himself and not himself.

"Stay back" He said in a commanding tone.

"Charles.... I'm s... sorry. Thank you." she said as she looked at him.

Slowly he relaxed and turned back to normal. He nearly fell to his knees when he did. she looked at him and saw why. One of them had hit him with something. She helped him up and walked toward the building. Then she went back to the living lythro and picked him up. He breaked weezily and seemed partly out of it. She saw Hooch and the others peeking out and nodded to them.

"Charles has been hurt, and this son of a ***** is going to tell us what is going on." She said as she dumped the lythro on the ground.

Cam nodded and looked at the weapons, when the group heard the scream. He rushed out, and watched Charles transform. Sadly, he hung his head and silently wished he could be normal again. Nikki went white at the sight of what Lydia and Charles did to the Lythros and fell to her knees.

:Ariana watched on as another new face arrived. She decided to go to Father Kyle, since it looked like more that what he had asked for.:

"Father Kyle, are you being replaced by two people?"

:She looked over at Father Inigo shaking his head at her.:

"Wait.. Is he coming with us?"

:She looked again at Father Inigo, this time nodding his head at her.:

"Oh, I see. Okay. Well," she smiled at Father Kyle, then at Father Inigo,"Just let me know when we are ready to leave."

:She pondered a moment and looked at the church.:

"Is there anything else you want me to help with around here until we do? I'd be more than happy to help out."

"I'm not completely sure. I know that since Charles had my house listed as a safe house that the other lythros have been after me, but this was different. They wheren't just trying to kill me, they where trying to break my spirit." she said as she finished tying up the lythro. she then checked on Charles and saw that the wound had a dark circle around it.

"Damn... dead lythro poision." She said as she touched it. She saw him shutter and moan a little.

"Shh, sorry." she said as she stroked his head.

"This poision is deadly to say the least. It carries a pectular virus in it that can kill a normal human in seconds. Trancers usually last a couple of days." She said as she searched through the various med kits that Hooch had back in the store rooms.

Bringing one of them out she began to apply every kind of antibotic ointment that she could find.

Hooch walked over to Nikki and took her hand. She seemed to grip it and then he looked at cam.

"Perhaps we should move this inside. I fear that those that left may be back with inforcements." He said as he lifted Nikki.

[Kali-chan]

Cam watched Hooch take Nikki inside and Lydia take care of Charles.

I'm gonna go scout out the surrounding area. See if any Lythros are coming, he said.

[Sixteen]

Hooch nodded and then tossed him a small pistol.

"That's got silver bullets in it, and it shoots straight. I don't carry anything that doesn't shoot straight." Hooch said as he fished getting Nikki to safety.

Lydia finished what she needed to do for Charles and then looked out over the area. She knew that the cure for the poision was a special flower that grew in just a few places. The lythros planted them and most of the time they had at least one guard. Sighing she got up.

"You know for being a cruel vicious son of a *****, you seem to care a little to much." She said as she grabbed her boomarang.

She saw Cam starting to leave and walked behind him.

"If it is alright with you I am going along. I need to get him a cure before two days time." Lydia said as she began to follow Cam.

Father Kyle growled slightly at the flood of questions, but controlled himself. "First, Kalina, yes we are going now. I hope you have everything packed."

He turned to Ariana. "Ariana, I believe we've done all we can. As Bishop Takeshi expands the influence of the Church through this area and humans begin to return to the safety it offers, then expert craftsmen shall return as well. They will be able to improve upon the repairs we've made."

Before Kyle could respond to Nemi's concern, Father Inigo spoke up. "Why do you conceal yourself? I may not be able to see or hear you, angel, but I can feel the holy aura which you emit. Humour me, please, and show yourself."

Kyle was astounded. When Nemi didn't want to be seen she was almost impossible to detect, yet Father Inigo had felt her without trouble. "Ah...Master, this is Nemi, Kalina's guardian angel." Turning to Nemi, Kyle now addressed her concern. "I have no intention of stopping the training, so we shall become more prepared as we travel. Kalina is still my pupil."

"Hah! You have an apprentice, yet you still call me Master? What is that all about?"

[Kali-chan]

Nemi was equally surprised by Inigo's apparent knowledge of her existance, but surpressed it.

Father Inigo, the Lord blesses you and your ability to sense me. she said, making herself visible to all. Kalina ran over to hug Nemi and looked over at Kyle.

Father, will we see the Trancer and girl again? she asked, her eyes wide with pleading.

Father Kyle nodded. "Aye, Kalina, that we will. They intrigue me, and I would like to know more about them."

Father Inigo looked at Kyle in surprise. "You would seek out a Trancer to learn more? Perhaps my task will be easier than I thought."

:Ariana nodded.:

"He isn't just a normal trancer though. He's.. well he's the most helpful one I've ever come across."

:Ariana said this as she walked away to go get her things together. She had to relocate her bag, and he hoped her goodies were still there.:

Cam thanked Hooch and started to leave. When Lydia came up behind him, he started.

Oh... sure, you can come. I just need to get back and summon those insects before Nikki sees me. It's a long story... he said, looking down.

[Sixteen]

Lydia nodded and waited for him to do so. She realized that obvisiously he cared very much for Nikki and for some reason didn't want her to know he was there. Better to give her an illusion of a strange demon than that of what he really looked like.

"I can understand your reasons for wanting to hide yourself, but is it volentary or not?" She asked as she waited.

Hooch walked over the lythro that was tied up as he began to come around. He had pulled the silver stake from his shoulder and held it in his hand. The lythros' blood boiled and bubbled while it was on it. Obvisiously silver reacted to them on a celluar level. But he decided to think on this later.

"Human you will die for keeping me here." the lythro said as he attempted to transform.

Hooch took out a dart gun and shot a silver dart into the lythros leg. It howled a little and staied in its human form.

"I suggest that we have a little talk. I want to know why you where attacking my friend." He said looking at the lythro.

"She's a traitor." The lythro said simply like talking to a child.

Hooch shot him again and waited.

"It's more than that. If it was because she was just a traitor then you would mearly kill her. Why?" He asked.

"She's a bloodborn. That means that she mates with either a blood born or with a transformed. Instead she mated with that Trancer. She's defiled her self and her pack because of that. It's something that can never be forgiven." the lythro answered.

Hooch nodded for a moment and believed that it could be part of it. But something else wasn't clicking. The pack would have came and killed her. They may have even tried to teach her a lesson before so, but that would include the females.

"what are you leaving out?" Hooch asked.

"nothing." The lythro answered looking at hooch with hate in his eyes.

Hooch shot another dart into him this time into his thigh getting close to a tender spot.

"Alright damn it alright! We know about the book. We knew that if she had any idea that taking her and forcing her to be with us would weaken her. It works with foolish females who mate outside the pack. They no longer seem capable of thinking for themselves. Their spirits are broken and they hang around the pack allowing whatever to happen to them. We knew that if we did that to her, then she would give us the location of the book and we could kill her, then you." He answered looking at hooch

"That's what I wanted to know." Hooch said as he turned around.

"Aren't you going to kill me?" he asked.

"Naw, that's for Lydia to do." Hooch answered.

The lythro suddenly grew pale and his hands franticly tried to get loose.

"You can't do that!!!! She'll tear me apart slowly!!!" The lythro screamed as hooch left him in the storage room.

"that's the idea *******." Hooch said as he closed the door and locked it.

rai stood silently infront of the church. she coudnt go in.
she was still sobbing a bit and then sat down. she started to feel sick and a black arura appeared around her.little demons whispered in her ear softly and chuckled "hehe come on littlegirl kill them...kill them all. i know you want to so do it" she covered her ears and screemed. "ahhhh! get away! get away!" demonic wings unfolded and covered her. the wings where larger than her.
down the path a black figure appeared and moved swiftly to her as if it where floating.

Though neither Father Kyle O'Torrin or Father Inigo Montoya could see the demonic spirits which floated around Rai, both could sense them. The hair on the backs of their necks rose. Kyle immediately had his swords out and ready, searching for an enemy.

Inigo, hearing Rai's scream, immediately understood the situation. Rushing to her side, he drew her close to him, rocking her as he would any other child. As soon as he touched her the dark energy crackled around him, searing his flesh, yet the blessing of the Lord held back the worst of the attack, and rapidly forced it back. His own training as a paladin allowed him to block out the pain, and he continued to cradle the terrified young neko. "Sshh...it will be alright, child...the Lord knows your heart is true...he will guide you through the darkness, so you shall reach the light." Standing slowly, the girl sobbing into his chest, he took slow, deliberate steps toward the church doors. "Come, my child. Let us take this first step of your journey together."

rai sobbed and held onto father. "i cant go in the chruch it will kill me"
she said still crying. her ears lay back as she steped closer to the church.
she felt somthing weared flow through her and her heart beat faster.
her wing where still around her.

[Kali-chan]

Kalina felt the presence of the demons and was scared. Nemi on the other hand was on the alert and was near Kyle.

It is Rai, the poor child. But Father Inigo seems to have it under control.

Cam looked at Lydia.

You don't understand. As long as Nikki doesn't see me like this, it's fine. A few years ago, we had a relationship. I am a trancer. But then it went wrong and I was seemingly killed to her eyes, but instead I became the Insect Demon. She believes that I as the Insect Demon killed the man she loved, which was me, which is why I can't show myself in human form to her. The stress would tear her apart. Also, there's a curse... that's the long story part of it.

Father Inigo shook his head. "Only if you cling to the darkness, child. Cast away all of the false promises of Satan and give yourself fully to the Lord. I will not deny that there will be pain for you, for there is much darkness that must be purged from your soul, but when all of that evil has been burned away your soul will become lighter, no longer fettered by the chains which now bind you."

The immense dark aura, still hidden from Kyle and Inigo, continued to close the distance. Just before it reached the steps, however, Kyle interposed himself between his Master with the girl and this dark figure. "Ah canno' see yeh, monster, nor hear yeh, but ah will no' let yeh past this point, so help meh God."

[Kali-chan]

Nemi took that as her cue, praying to God and asking Him to grant Kyle strength to stop the evil aura. But what she got, however, was not to her liking.

Father Kyle... you must do this on your own... she told him, wondering what the Lord was testing Kyle for.

[blackknight]

Father Kyle nodded his understanding. "The Lord is testing mah devotion. I shall no' falter."

The dark force, dropping it's aura of concealment, laughed in mockery. "Your Lord does not test you! He has abandoned you. You are as tainted as any on this earth, and as such you cannot defeat me!"

"Silence, hellspawn! The Lord knows Ah am His devoted servant, and know Ah can take care o' mehself."

"Harbor your delusions while you may, human. You will never stop me from regaining that girl for my Master."

"Begone, demon! The power o' Christ compels yeh! The power o' Christ compels yeh! The power o' Christ compels yeh! Do no' look down on meh because Ah am a sinner."

[Sixteen]

Lydia shook her head and nodded.

"I see. You wish to consel her from the truth. It's just easier for her to understand what she preceived happened." She said as they walked.

The entire time she kept a look out for entrances of the gardens. She knew that they where still aways off from where they where.

"But you are not the first person to ever have done this. History is littered with humans, lythros, and even vampires that have hidden who they are and what they are from those that they love." She stopped suddenly and sniffed the air. The hair on the back of her neck began to stand on end. She took a fighting stance and suddenly wished that she had changed clothes. Her armor was almost totally destroyed leaving her breasts near visable. Thankfully those beasts had not ripped through the suit underneight. But still she felt vulnerable.

"there is something or someone out here with us." she said as she pulled the Boomarang up ready to strike.

Hooch walked over to Nikki who had regained her sight. She seemed confused and slightly disorentiated. He poured a thick brown liquid into a cup and handed it to her. The smell was not unpleasent. In fact it seemed to drift up into her nostrials. He knelt down and grinned at her.

"Go ahead, it's just hot coco. Found a few packs of instant stuff in cabnets." He said as he watched her look at the contents.

rai started to yell "this is not a folower of the dark lord it is him himself!"
rai growled and walked to the dark figure.
"stop!....oh great father of hell! i dont want the darkness please set me free i beg of you!" she cryed out in saddness.
"i know without darkness the world cant exsiste...hate is a part of us all....but i want to be free!" she stumbled up the steps and entered the church. her eyes turned black and she stoped right in her tracks she cluched her fists and gasped for air.
the dark lord then shown his face and to each difrent person he looked like the one they loved the most but dieing and then after a minut or so turned into a young man for all to see.
in the chruch raya awoke and sat up she looked around and then at rai.
"oh my god!!"

The handsome figure of the Prince of Darkness turned his bemused gaze upon Rai. "You have shattered my deception, traitorous girl. I have never treated you poorly, and this is how you repay me?" He began to show his anger. "I have given you power beyond the wildest dreams of mortal men, and now you throw it in my face?! HOW DARE YOU!! YOU ARE NOTHING TO ME, AND NOW YOU SHALL BE REDUCED TO NOTHING!!"

Invisible bolts of energy shot through the air towards the terrified neko, their presense only know because of the ripples in the air as they sped through. The powerful bolts would have shattered the girl's slim frame, if not for the fact that Father Kyle stepped in their path, swords held in the shape of the cross. The attack shattered Kyle's swords and lifted him off his feet to slam against the wall of the church, but the holy blessing on the blades reduced the killing power of the energy, so that Kyle, though bleeding from the mouth, could stand again. "Is that all yeh've got, Serpent? Yeh are no match for the Lord, and He does protect His faithful, something yeh would never understand."

len cried out in pain and she fell to her knees "your not going to have me any longer you evil man! I was brought into the darkness with my saying so...and i shouldnt have....i wanted power...and you traded for my soul." she said then slowly stood up but fell once again in pain. she tried again and again to get up but it felt as if her life was being drained.

[blackknight]

The face of the Dark Lord contorted in rage. "Impudent mortal! You cannot honestly believe that you can take me on and win, do you?" Lucifer began sending forth more and more bolts of energy, all streaking towards Father Kyle.

This time, however, Kyle was not defending anyone but himself. The bolts all missed their mark as he twisted and turned, each dodge taking him closer and closer to his foe. Yet as he drew nearer, Kyle found it harder and harder to take each step closer. The evil aura was too much for him to handle, and it was draining his strength. Kyle realized that he would never be able to battle the source of all evil without the Lord's protection. Still, every second that he kept Satan distracted was another second for the young demon who was trying so hard to turn away from the dark path she had walked.

As Rai slumped to the floor again, she felt strong hands grip her shoulders and lift her to her feet. These hands looped one of her arms across the shoulders of Father Inigo. "You do not struggle alone, child. Come, walk with me to the altar."

With slow, deliberate steps, he led her. He could hardly imagine the agony this poor girl must be experiencing, but still he carried her on. Once they reached the altar he would baptize her with the holy water, thus breaking the Dark Lord's hold on her. He glanced over at her face, agony written across it. rai sobed softly as she stood by father. she closed her eyes the pain fushing through her again and again."it hurts...please meke it stop" she said crying softly.
her ears went back and her eyes turned black.

Lydia shook her head and nodded.

"I see. You wish to consel her from the truth. It's just easier for her to understand what she preceived happened." She said as they walked.

The entire time she kept a look out for entrances of the gardens. She knew that they where still aways off from where they where.

"But you are not the first person to ever have done this. History is littered with humans, lythros, and even vampires that have hidden who they are and what they are from those that they love." She stopped suddenly and sniffed the air. The hair on the back of her neck began to stand on end. She took a fighting stance and suddenly wished that she had changed clothes. Her armor was almost totally destroyed leaving her breasts near visable. Thankfully those beasts had not ripped through the suit underneight. But still she felt vulnerable.

"there is something or someone out here with us." she said as she pulled the Boomarang up ready to strike.

Hooch walked over to Nikki who had regained her sight. She seemed confused and slightly disorentiated. He poured a thick brown liquid into a cup and handed it to her. The smell was not unpleasent. In fact it seemed to drift up into her nostrials. He knelt down and grinned at her.

"Go ahead, it's just hot coco. Found a few packs of instant stuff in cabnets." He said as he watched her look at the contents.


Cam nodded at Lydia's words and tensed up when she mentioned the presence. He moved into a martial arts position and waited.

"The Lythros gave him a poision that was intended for Lydia. He's fighting it off, but unless she gets the cure he won't last more than a couple of days." Hooch said as they heard Charles moan in pain.

Lydia listened to their surroundings and waited. At first she began to wonder if she was just being jumpy until the figure jumped out and ran. She reconised him as a bandit that operated in this area. Being alone ment that either he was attempting a trap and it went sour, or his band was dead.

"It was just a human." She said as she relaxed.

Father Inigo lifted the child in his arms, holding her close. "Find comfort, my child, and know that the pain will soon be but a memory." Tears of helplessness shone in his eyes, for he could do nothing to ease Rai's suffering. Still he moved forward, the sobbing girl clinging to him. He must have faith in the Lord.

Father Kyle was getting desperate. Against such an overwhelming aura of evil he was nearly helpless. His strength was being drained away, while his opponent, evil incarnate as he was, showed no signs of slowing down. Kyle's breath was coming in ragged gasps, yet still he faced the Dark Lord with defiance. "Ye have so little respect for mortals, but it seems it should be the other way around. Ah, a mere mortal, stand before ye, thumbin' mah nose at ye. Go back to the pit that spawned ye, Satan, and trouble this world no more."

"You wish, false priest. You are an insect, fit only to be crushed beneath me. Oppose me if you must, but your defeat is inevitable."

"Ah think no'. Ye've yet to destroy meh, and Ah don't think ye can."

Kalina watched in fear as her master faced the dark lord. Clutching onto Nemi, who hovered nearby, she cringed at every blow that landed on him.

rai growled a bit her fangs showed,she clushed onto his shirt.
"help me..." she said then cryed more.
as they got closer she screamed. "ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!"

raya ran to father inigo and rai. "what are you doing father?...you cant do this"
she then looked outside and saw father kyle.
she grabed her scythe and ran out. " DEMOS! COME TO ME!" she yelled.
her crow flew down and landed on her sholder.
she headed to where father was.

Father Inigo shook his head sadly. "She has made the choice, and it is my duty to guide her to its end. Father Kyle knows this, which is why he continues to fight a losing battle." He came to the altar, yet was shocked to find someone standing there already. "Your Excellency!"

"You did not think I was going to hide while such important things are occuring, do you? Support the girl, Father Inigo Montoya. I shall perform the baptism."

"Y-yes, your Excellency!"

Knowing that time was of the essence, Bishop Harikava Takeshi hurried through the spoken word as quickly as he could. Still seeming to long, he was visibly relieved when the moment came to annoint the tortured demon child with the holy water. "In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, amen."

As the holy water touched her, Rai's skin began to crack and peel away. Instead of a grotesque view of blood and muscle, beneath the peeling skin showed bright, new, clean skin, as if she was a snake shedding its old, filthy worn skin for the new, shiny skin beneath. "Rise, child, and embrace the Lord with all your heart, for He has looked into your soul and granted your wish."

A familiar voice and a movement out of the corner of his eye distracted Father Kyle O'Torrin for a fraction of a second. That fraction was a fraction too long. A bolt of evil energy struck him square in the chest, sending him flying into the side of the church once more. This time, however, he had no holy swords shielding him to reduce the power of the blow. His clothes burst into black flame, his skin blistered and cracked, his hair burned away. The blessed staff slipped from limp fingers, while blessed throwing knives melted into pools of silver. The Devil was a master of his craft, however. Father Kyle was not only conscious, but fully aware. The agony was incredible.

"And so it ends, pathetic worm. Man cannot fight against the Dark Lord and survive. Your destruction was inevitable."

Father Kyle drew in a ragged breath, though the fires of Hell seared at his lungs. Through eyes clouded in pain, he forced himself to focus on the gloating Prince of Darkness. "Ah have...no regrets...Lucifer...I kept ye...distracted...long enough..." His eyes slowly closed. "The Lord is mah shepherd...I shall no'...wan-..."

Father! Kalina screamed. Nemi started to move forward, but an invisible barrior held her from rushing to Kyle's side.

Nemi! Help him!

I cannot! Kalina, you have to!

But... alright! Kalina's face tightened up as she ran towards the man.

Father, can you hear me? she asked, breathing raggedly as if she had been hit instead. Starting to cry, she leaned over him and closed her eyes tightly.

Lord, please help your humble servant. He has done nothing but serve you since he was introduced to the Catholic church. So why won't you help him? she muttered. Surprisingly, Nemi suddenly found herself able to move.

Father Kyle! Speak to me! she cried, landing beside Kalina.

rai sobbed softly. as the water hit her skin she felt clean, her neko ears went away and same with her fangs. she also seemed to grow a lil older her hair got long.


raya ran to father kyle and leaned down by him. "father...are you alright?" she asked him softly demos pecking at him. "stop it boy...dont do that" she said shooing him away.
she looked at the devil himself and growled.
"get away from here!...i will give you what you want...any thing!" she yelled

Kyle's hand shot up and grabbed Raya's arm. "Doona' do that. To make...a deal wi'...the Devil...will damn your soul...to Hell..." His strength left him, and his arm fell limp once again. He opened his eyes, but they were badly burned and he could barely see. Turning his almost sightless gaze upon Kalina and Nemi he managed a weak smile. "Hush now...doona' cry. Ah've lived...a good life...and Ah can leave...wi' few regrets..."

raya growled and stood up turning to the dark lord. she then started to resite the lords prayr taking out a silver cross.

Father Kyle O'Torrin listened as Raya recited the Lord's Prayer. We smiled through his agony, knowing there was great hope for the world when people were willing to go toe-to-toe with the Devil himself. At his side, Kyle heard the sobs of Kalina. He had hoped he would be able to watch her grow to adulthood, to aid her in becoming a valuable addition to the ranks of the Catholic Church. Alas, this was not to be.

He groped blindly at his side, his fingers finally discovering the smooth wood of the blessed staff. Using this he slowly, painfully rose up from the ground, leaning heavily on its firm support. 'O Lord, I have asked for nothing but the strength to destroy Your enemies before this, but now my body is broken, ravaged beyond all hope of healing. I am dying, and I know and accept this. My mission is not yet complete, however, and so I beg of You, do not call me to Your side just yet, but allow me to continue fighting Your enemies. This do I pray. Amen...'

Father Inigo stepped out onto the steps of the church just in time to see a blinding white light streak down from the heavens to encase Father Kyle, a light which touched no other, and which could not be penetrated by anyone or anything. All present shielded their eyes, even the Dark Lord, for this was a holy energy which even he could not resist. For 20 seconds the pillar of light encased the disfigured priest leaning on a staff, then it vanished just as soon as it had appeared.

Father Kyle O'Torrin stood for a moment longer, then, as if in slow motion, he fell back. He made no attempt to break his fall, and he hit the ground hard.

Father Inigo rushed over to his fallen friend, and the moment he reached Kyle he realized why the battle-hardened paladin had not tried to cushion his fall. A peaceful smile was frozen on his lips, sightless eyes stared up at the night sky, the warm body rapidly cooling. What Father Inigo held in his arms was but the mortal shell of Father Kyle O'Torrin. No soul resided within any longer. "You fool...You had a long life ahead of you. Why did you throw it away?" Tears streamed down his face for the passing of his former pupil. "May God guide you quickly to His side."

-I'm afraid not, Master.-

"What?..." Inigo looked down. His hand was resting on the staff which was still clutched in Kyle's hand. "No...it can't be..."

-It is. The Lord has granted my wish. I remain to fight the forces of evil at your side.-

Father Kyle O'Torrin, rather than leave the mortal world to stand at the side of the Lord in Heaven, had begged to stay and fight. His body ruined, the Lord had given him the next best thing, embedding his soul in the staff he leaned on, transforming it from a blessed weapon to a holy relic, its holy power increased exponentially. Kyle had almost certainly doomed himself to an eternity of limbo in this staff, for his soul could not be released unless the staff was broken, and holy relics were notoriously resiliant.

Kalina screamed as Kyle fell. Nemi felt the spiritual energy from the staff, however, and smiled warmly.

Father? Father Kyle? Master? Answer me! Please! I don't want you to go! the girl screamed. Sobbing, she flung herself into Inigo's arms.

Why? Why did he have to go? she cried, not understanding.

Nikki looked up, confused. Suddenly, the world seemed a bit darker as Kyle died. She did not have the ability to sense his holy presence again.

Mr Hooch, do you feel that? I fear for what may be happening in Rott City... we left cour companions there, including a child... she said softly.

A human? That's good. How close are you to finding what you need? he asked.

-sorry, this is my first role play here and I don't know much. I'll remember that-

She sat atop the clock tower looking over the big city. It was dark out and raining. Off in the distance she should see lightning. She sighed at the thought of another night of having to force herself to drink blood. She didn't want to, but she had to, to get the nutrients she needed to live. The only problem was she didn't want to drink it because then she couldn't stop. Just the thought of it gave her chills.
She watched in the cover of the night.
"Maybe just a little helpless child."
She thought as she jumped into the air to be able to find someone, but high enough so no one could see or hear her. She spotted a young child walking along the sidewalk, either heading to the church for cover or going home. She followed him along, flying so she wouldn't make a sound. She watched the young boy run along. She looked at his face and flinched. She just couldn't do it. She sighed and flew back to her perch atop the clock tower and sat there, waiting for another person to come along.

Father Inigo shook his head. "Father Kyle was in terrible agony, Kalina. The Lord granted him release from that pain. He could not bear to leave you, however, and he is with us still." He placed the staff in her small hands. "Listen, Kalina."

-Hello, Kalina. I am sorry to have caused you so much pain. I wish I could have stayed to help you grow, but my mortal shell had failed me. Now I can be with you until the day you pass from this world.-

"You see? He fights with us still."

"As touching as this is, I grow bored with the theatrics. If you do not come to me I will come to you."

Father Inigo spun around, his sword in hand even though no one had seen him reach for it. "You shut your blasphemous mouth, Satan! A good man is dead because of you, a good man and a friend, and I will not allow you to profane his sacrifice!"

-Master Inigo, place your blade on the end of the staff.-

"Don't call me Master!" Nevertheless, Inigo did as Kyle suggested. There was a bright flash of light, and when the spots cleared from their eyes everyone saw that the rapier and the staff were as one weapon, now a spear. The holy aura of the two weapons combined was incredible.

The Dark Lord hesitated. A weapon such as this could cut through his defenses like a hot knife through warm butter. He covered his discomfort quickly. With a sneer he turned on his heel and began to walk away. "Bah, it's not worth it anymore. The girl has been taken from me. At least I managed to kill that annoying priest.

Though the Dark Lord could not hear him, Kyle could not help "yelling" -Why don't you say that to my face, bastard!-

Inigo chuckled. "You don't have a face anymore, Kyle."

-The principle's the same!- As Satan disappeared from view, vanishing into the darkness from whence he came, there was another flash of light and the staff and rapier were seperate again. -So the girl is now free of his taint?-

Inigo nodded. "Yes. Your sacrifice was not in vain."

-Good. I'm glad.-

rai sat up rom the alter. she had no ears and no fangs. she smiled softly and then ran out to father Inigo then looked down at kyle.
"father kyle...im sorry...its my fault" she said softly then clung to father inigo

raya rushed twords father kyle and brought his body close to her.
"im srry...im so srry"

Father Inigo smoothed back Rai's hair. "You are most welcome, my child. I am most pleased that you have successfully left your dark path. Father Kyle felt the same way, despite his original attitude towards you." He shook his head softly, looking over at Raya, cradling Kyle's mortal shell. "What happened to him is no one's fault but the Devil's. Father Kyle knew what he was getting into, knew the price should he misstep. He knew this, and he embraced that knowledge. He laid down his life so that other lives could continue. He was, at the end, truly the Master Paladin he strove to be."

He walked over to Kyle's body. "We must give him a proper burial. I will not leave his body to be defiled by scavengers."

Kalina tears streaming down her face, nodded.

He would like that... right, Father? she asked, looking at the staff. Giggling a bit at the thought of talking to a staff, she sat beside Raya.

He was a really great man... she mumbled, crying again.

raya tryed to hold in the tears...but couldnt. "i loved you....so much"
she laied him down and went to get a shovle.
she came out silently and started to dig a grave near the church. she stoped and looked at demos her crow who was pecking at the body of father kyle trying to wake him up not eat him
"come here...i need your help boy" she said to him. her hoped over to her and then went on her sholder. "demos...can you get me some forget me nots.." she asked him softly. "root and all"
the crow bobed his head and then took off. she went silent the rest of the time not speeking to anyone.

rai smiled softly. it was weared being human her nose was difrent and she couldnt smell any thing from a distenc. and her hearing sucked to.
"father...do you want me to help?" she asked him holding onto his hand

The mourning faces around the body of Father Kyle broke Father Inigo's heart. He looked at the staff in his hand. 'Is this what you would have expected, my friend?'

-No, nor do I wish it. It saddens me to know that I have caused them such pain.-

Inigo shook his head. 'Such is life, I guess. Even if you remain with us in this form, your physical presence will be sorely missed.' He looked down at Rai, a small smile on his lips. "If you would be so kind, my child, could you please go back into the church and bring Bishop Harikava out? I would like him to speak the funeral rites." As he spoke, he moved toward the tool shed to procure his own shovel and began digging across from Raya.

"father wants to speek with you" she said then went backout side to father inigo."he's coming..." she said softly.

ray started to sob as she dug more...she stoped for a sec and looked at the sky. demos was back and holdinga bundle of small light blue flower in his claws. he droped them in rayas hand and landed on her sholder.
"thank you my friend" she said still crying.
she went back to digging her shovle digging up the hole the would soon hold father kyle.

Kalina bit her lip.

Let me help! she cried, starting to dig with her hands, not wanting to leave for a second. Nemi felt her heart torn by the child's willingness to help.

I trained with Father for a long time! He taught me! I want to help! she rambled, paying no heed to the dirt building up under her fingernails.

Ouch!

A sharp rock jabbed her right hand between the thumb and forefinger. Holding it up, Kalina watched her hand bleed. Starting to cry even harder, she looked at the flowers.

I won't forget him... she said, her face tightening up. Her hand bled hard as she closed her eyes. Deciding, she ripped a small ribbon of the cloth from Kyle's robe and tied it around her hand.

Miss Raya, rest for a moment. I can do this, she told the girl, the cloth turning red.

raya looked at father kyles body and then went to it sitting down.
"im going to miss you so much...i love you kyle..." she said to herself her eyes filled with tears and she cryed more. she noticed that the demons power was draining from her and she sighed. she slowly took out a cross neclace from her pocket and put it around his neck.
she then found a loose ribon that was holdng together part of his robe and took it out. she tied it around her neck and looked away for a sec.
and then closed his eyes.
"its going to be lonly without you" she said then stood up and started to dig some more.

A short while later the grave was dug. Bishop Harikava Takeshi spoke the final rites in a firm, clear voice which belied his age. Having no coffin handy, Father Kyle O'Torrin was lovingly wrapped in a curtain from the pulpit. Father Inigo Montoya, forcing back tears, carried his friend and former pupil's body to its final resting place. The grave was quickly filled in. Inigo would remember this church. When the time came he would return with a headstone to commemorate this man's sacrifice. He bowed low to Bishop Takeshi. "Your Excellency, it is time that we take our leave."

"The Lord's blessing go with you, paladin."

"And also with you, your Excellency." Inigo faced the assembled females. Kalina, Nemi, Raya, Rai, and Ariana looked at him in anticipation. "Father Kyle spoke to me of rejoining companions. It is time to fulfill his wish, even if he cannot do so himself. It is time to reunite these two divided groups, to form a single party to battle the darkness which consumes this land."

Taking up the staff which now contained the soul of Father Kyle, unbeknownst to any but Father Inigo, Kalina, and Nemi, Inigo turned and began walking down the path. "Let us go."

after raya planted the forget me nots,raya sobed and stayed near the grave. she turned around slowly and watched him go down the path. rai watched her for a while and then ran to her taking her hand. "come on...its time to go..." she said then started walking with raya holding her hand.

demos flew off of rayas sholder and went to father inigo and landed on the staff. "caww!" demos screched loudly. the power of the demons was still inside demoses body and he opened his third eye he then telapathicly talked to father inigo. ""inigo...inigo...i know you can here me...its me demos crow of the dead..."he said.
demos cluched onto the staff and could feel the presens of father kyle.
"inigo...you should tell raya of father kyle and where his spirit is now...if not i will show her...and she will sence him once more...but that would drive her made becouse of the demons power she always absorbs" he said chuckling

raya steped twords father inigo walking next to hm and same with rai.

rayas mink ran off to the town and frawlicked down the street.
she looked up and saw the vampire. arching her back she started to hiss.

Nemi watched Demos suspiciously. Moving closely to the bird, she replied for Father Inigo.

Bird, Father Kyle was a man who looked after that small child over there! Don't you think she would be in greater dispair? Father? she said to the two of them.

Kalina, whose face was streaked with tears, walked with her shoulders slouched over and her dirty hands on her face. She knew Kyle's spirit was still around, but she couldn't get over the fact that the man who had taught her so much was now gone in body. Her hand had stared to heal over, but it was still in pain.

She has been scarred emotionally, and I don't think she will be able to take it with more people know Kyle is still among us. I think she sees the fact that she knows as special, that she can still talk to him every once in a while. Please, let her keep that fancy. And you said it yourself, bird. Raya will go mad with the knowledge. Do not tell her of Father Kyle! the angel said, her voice growing bigger with every word. The last sentence was so huge that Kalina looked up at the intense energy emitted. She knew it was Nemi, as she had often sensed that power, but she did not know why.

]the bird looked at the angel and nodded. "angel...my master is a good person i would never tell her of father kyle" he said still on the staff turning to the angel. " the only time i would tell her of such thing is when the demons power has not ben used in weeks then she would be able to handle it" he fluffed up his fethers a bit. and looked at the angel with his three eyes.
"my master is scared...she saw her parents get murdered my vampires...things that are evil...and now this happens...when her parents died she did not cry...but now somthing has changed and she cant take it any more...both i and she have not known kyle for but a day yet when she sees someone getting killed she moarns for the person even if she didnt realy know him" he flew of the staff and went to raya

raya sucked up the tears and didnt cry anymore. "this is stupid...why am i crying...i barly knew him" she said to herself then patted demos on the head.
rai looked at father inigo and smiled softly trying to make people happy.
she didnt want to see sad faces. she looked at Kalina and went to her.
"exscuse me miss....Kalina...are you going to be ok?" she asked her softly putting a hand on her side. "im srry about all this...it was my fault...if i hadent come along...this never would have happend...i feel like it was me who killed the person you where closes to" she said looking away.

Father Inigo considered the crow's words. Sooner or later he may have to reveal Kyle's presence to the others, but for now the wound was still fresh. Such knowledge would merely rub salt in that wound. Looking back, he noticed that Raya's condition seemed to improve when the bird landed on her shoulder. Then he caught some of the words which she spoke to Kalina and sighed. 'This cannot continue. The efficiency of this group is being severely compromised.'

Waiting until the two caught up, he nodded to Raya and Kalina. "This must stop. Neither of you are at fault. A paladin's life is fraught with danger, and Father Kyle knew this. Finally he faced Kalina. "Kneel, my child." As she did so he drew his sword. He planted it in the earth between her knees. "Father Kyle's reports spoke quite well of your performance. His praise was high. Would you shame him by reducing yourself to a feeble shell of your former self? Or will you allow me, as his former master and companion, to resume your training? Evaluate yourself, Kalina. If you are willing to come out of the pit of despair you have dug, draw that sword from the ground and return it to me."

It was a harsh choice, he knew, but he must shake her out of this soon. Through the staff he could feel Kyle's worry for his pupil.

Kalina screamed as Kyle fell. Nemi felt the spiritual energy from the staff, however, and smiled warmly.

Father? Father Kyle? Master? Answer me! Please! I don't want you to go! the girl screamed. Sobbing, she flung herself into Inigo's arms.

Why? Why did he have to go? she cried, not understanding.

Nikki looked up, confused. Suddenly, the world seemed a bit darker as Kyle died. She did not have the ability to sense his holy presence again.

Mr Hooch, do you feel that? I fear for what may be happening in Rott City... we left cour companions there, including a child... she said softly.

Cam relaxed.

A human? That's good. How close are you to finding what you need? he asked.




(Sorry for not being online in a while guys. Computer at home has went kaput and couldn't kaput it back together. So at the libary.)

Lydia smiled and smelled the air.

"We aren't far. At the most a couple of more miles. Lythros like to keep the cure to their poisions fairly accessable." She said as they began to cut through an old park. The ruined pieces of playground equipment showing the results of a dark and painful war.

Hooch Listened and grabbed the colt from its hiding place. checking the bullets he nodded and walked toward the door.

"We need to stay inside and keep out of site. there are things happening here beyound our understanding." Hooch said as he stepped back.

Kalina looked astonished at the swordf thrust between her knees. Hearing Father Inigo's words, she knew she had to decide.

~Father Kyle... Master... I wish to continue training in my faith... but I always imagined we would train together when you were hardly able to walk... Father Inigo was your master, he will teach me well... but am I willing to commit myself to learning another master's teaching style? I want to believe that I will be able, but what if I can't? What will happen to me? But I fear that if I do decide to stay in my current state that Nemi will leave me... what should I do?~ she ranted in her mind. As she continued this inner turmoil, Nemi watched sadly.

~I know what she must be going through... but why now? She's still young...~

Suddenly, Nemi tensed up. An old memory had just entered into her mind. She screamed and fell to the ground.

~What? What is wrong with Nemi?~ Nemi! Kalina cried. Looking down at the sword, she made her decision.

~Train me well... Father Inigo...~ she thought quickly. Pulling the sword from the ground, she turned her attention to her guardian angel.

Nemi, what's wrong?

-No, all I know is that she's broadcasting pain loud enough that any spirits within half a mile can feel it, and they're coming. Try and calm her down.-

"I see. Kalina! Get her to calm down, otherwise we'll be up to our necks in ghosts!"

-If that doesn't work, we can stun her with the staff. I can strike at spiritual beings now, although I would hate to be used against something as pure as Nemi.-

Kalina scrambled next to Nemi and tried to comfort her.

What's wrong? Please, tell us! she cried. Nemi shook her head and managed to calm down slightly.

An... old... memory... that's... all... she gasped out. Going invisible, she made her way up to the top of the church.

Father Inigo shook his head. "Nemi, calm down, come down, and tell us of this memory. We can't risk you bringing Feeders down on us, or worse."

"Don't call me Master. And I've always been this way. Just because I'm trying to get her to calm down more firmly than before doesn't mean I wasn't like this before."

-Huh. Give me to Kalina, I want to talk to her.-

"Is that wise? Do you think she's ready to hear you again, though your death is still so fresh?"

-Spare me, Master. She's a lot stronger than you give her credit for.-

Inigo shook his head, whispering, "And how would you know how much credit I give her?" He stepped over to Kalina and held out the staff. Catching her surprised look, he nodded slightly, confirming that he wanted her to take it.

rai stood close to raya and smiled a bit.
raya sighed and looked around. "rai..did you eat the crackers i gave you?"
"only a few..." rai replide.
meier appeared in her arms and she smiled softly. meier started to cry.
"im srry baby i dont have dipears or anything that would help"
she thought for a sec.
"is you diper even durty?" she said then checked. "nope its not...then you must be hungry" she cut her finger and put it by his mouth but he wouldnt take it.
"dont tell me you want milk...i dont have any" she said to him softly.

Hooch stood at his counter with the old colt in his hand. Each chamber had balsa bead bullets covered with silver. It was deadly and accurate for about ten meters. Past that it would be nearly impossible to tell if you hit something or not.

Kalina took the staff slowly and stared at it.

Father Kyle? she asked softly.

Standing outside the building, Nikki stared out into the sky, trying to decide whether she should head back to the city or not. Setting her face, she stood up. Pulling out her staff, she scratched out a message in the dirt:

Gone back to city. Suspect something. Don't follow. Nikki.

Cam looked around and settled his gaze on Lydia. He didn't need to speak what he wanted to. The message was clear. He was worried about being out in the open.

Lydia nodded in agreement. She didn't like being out in the open either. However she knew it was nessary to do what they needed to do.

"I don't like being out here either, but we need to get to those fields." She wispered

raya held the baby as it cryed "shhhh its ok...im here" she said to him softly trying to calm him down.

-Hello Kalina. I am pleased you have decided to continue your tutelage under Father Inigo. Learn well, child, for he taught me well and will do the same for you. I would just like to know how you are holding up. So much has happened in the past few hours and I'm worried about you.-

Meanwhile, Father Inigo had a growing sense that something was wrong. He glanced with apprehension toward the screaming Meier. As pure as a child's soul was, the vampirism in his blood was sure to call other creatures of darkness to his howls, vampires to aid the child, trancers or lycans to kill it. He drew his sword. "Miss Raya, I must ask you to silence the babe, else we may be up to our necks in rather unpleasant entities."

"im srry father...i will" she said rocking the baby. raya was nervus the baby wouldnt go to sleep and she didnt want father getting more upset."i cant get him to sleep...i dont know what to do" raya said to father. "i could give him a poisen well a drop of it...it wont kill him but her will pass out for a few hours" she said looking at father still nervus.

(Not sure if anyone wants this thing to continue or not, but I really wanted to post a little something since I believe that part of the RPG needs a little conclusion.)

Lydia walked near Cam for a few more miles. On either side of the road the sounds of ghostly wispers and falling dust could be heard. She had been this far before, and it was only to visit Lucious the head of the lycan clan of this area. He was a fairly wise leader, but often too brash and prone to rage to be relied on. Still it was Lucious that had said to create a garden out in this area and call on a necromancer to bring the dead back to guard it. Of course the Necromancer had called back spirits and not bodies since most of the those that had died didn't have a physical body left to call back. She shuttered a little has they reached the entrance of the garden.

"This is where I need to go. If you want to follow me you can, but stay away from any glowing lights." she said has she stepped into the small trail that lead down to a rotting rest stop.

She looked at the flowers growing in the middle of the rest stop and stepped forward. No sooner had she reached for one then a cold clammy feeling passed through her. She tried to stop the feeling, but it spread through out her entire body. Finally unable to constrate she stood upright and looked at the spirit guarding the flowers.

"Why are you here Lydia?" the spirit asked.

"I need the flowers Ben." She said to the spirit hoping that Cam could see it and not think that she had lost her mind.

"The flowers are for loyalist and pure breeds only. While you are a birth born lycan, you are not a pure breed, and we both know that you are not a loyalist." Ben said flatly.

"Ben Charles is dying. He will die without the flower to make the healing tea. I can't let the man that I chose to become my mate die." She said sobbing.

"Touching story, but I doubt that you have actually allowed him to do anything Lydia. After all you where meant for the great Lucious him self and you turned him down." Ben said watching her.

"What proof do you need?" She asked.

"Let me see a memory of your's. I will not possess you, but I will enter your memories and witness this act for myself." Ben said.

Before she could protest he entered into her. She felt her mind reeling until she came across the memory of her and Charles together. She could feel their embrase and then slowly everything they did, all of the ways that he touched her and made her feel came to life through her senses. She felt smothered in her clothes suddenly and began to think about stripping there and then. her midn reached an area of pure euthoria and at that moment Ben exited her mind. She was still on the peak of her wonderious mountain when she saw the spirit. For a moment it almost looked has though Ben was blushing.

"Take the flower and go. I will inform Lucious that someone retrieved it for their mate."

Hooch looked at Charles again and begin to wonder if the young Trancer would make it. He noticed that the dark circle began to spread through him and knew that it was only being a Trancer that was saving him. He shuttered and walked over to Nikki. The young girl was sitting by a window looking causiously toward the captured Lycan that was still screaming that it was more humane for him to be killed by Hooch then allowed to be tore apart by Lydia.

"Are you alright Nikki? You know you are welcome to lay down in the back. There is a couple of old cots back there and this entire place is pretty well protected." Hooch said watching her.
