I'm not sure if I'v ever really heard a song like this in Japanese & I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what kind of song it is.
Heres a small sample of the song: http://www.bestsharing.com/files/48j6fSJ238814/Wild%20Flowers%20sample.mp3.html
Is it a country rock song or something?

J-rock. Too soft for metal, and it doesn't seem pop to me...might be though, but I would say J-rock. Do you know the band name by chance?
Edit: RAMAR from Zoids...yes, I still think they are Jrock.

I believe thats the only song they did for an anime. Any other songs like that?
Although that sample is the more exciting part of the song, the start is more mellow without the electric guitar.

Argh. I'm bad at identify song genres, but let's see:
Not sure, but maybe Ai (Op from Kujibiki Unbalance TV) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfMVFB2peAo) is the closest thing I can think of.
I little far from those, but maybe Ohayou (Hunter x Hunter OP1) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ikrJKtEuOhU) has some of the same feeling.

Thinking about it, I bet Glay has a song or two like it. It has been a while since I heard Glay's stuff, but Blue Jean (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljhVXHWMiA8) has the feel to it...Just without the Banjo, and more of a chimeness to it. They have A LOT of songs, and their style is not the harder rock, or hard at all in most cases, so I would assume there might be.
Honestly, my flavor of Glay is more of their harder of their songs...like Survival (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4F6oIHRt7FI)...That one and it's PV rock. The way how the song starts out is the HARDEST I have ever heard Glay, haha. :D
