Welcome to the merry world of Mac! Enjoy your stay and explore the possibilities of the Apple. Fear not the crashes or the bugs that plague the PC and revel in the purity and simplicity of operating some of the best software on the planet.

Enough about Macs, Epstein. It isn't like switching religions. This is a dumb thread, sorry.
Let me also note that posting in Off-topic does not get you post-count so if thats the reason you're making these threads, then its a failed idea. oo;
My answer to your question is your friends need to be educated. Soulzar basically summed it up the best way possible, but I will add that Windows and Mac are not like Pepsi and Coke, they are indeed very different, but can be the same depending on the user.

Macs are pretty cool, actually. I wish I could afford one, but I already have my PC, and I can't afford another computer any time soon. There's only a very small amount of software for PC that you can't replace with a Mac equivalent. Mainly games.

Welcome to the world of people who claim there are no issues even though the mac forum is filled with them, and I am haveing to work on one which is crashing as we speak. The user is blameing the printer even though it is on the network, not directly conected to the mac and uses a text file to install.
Remember they never crash, it is a magical Mac clone created by Adolf Hitler and Bill Gates that beams itself onto your harddrive erases the actual OS and tells you it is mac but is actually Windows that crashes. Bill Gates also beams micronized suicide baboons to blow out hardware on macs because they never have hardware problems. All glory to the rainbow apple.

Well in my opinion, if it works use it, if you can get past a few glitches use it, if it works well enough where you don't have to fix anything on it, use it. Otherwise, Stop complaining and do what's got to be done to get it working right. Good, Bad or Indifferent just shut up about it's flaws.

The problems wear white capes because Virus control does not care about Apple ;)

I like Mac. Actually I have a MacBook and it is really good. It is different than Windows, though. You can say that Windows is easier to use than Mac.

When I used macs at school, even the top of line, latest, most expensive one at school (some sort of G4 somethingorother,) froze and crashed just as much as any PC. :P

IVe used both (had a old school Apple laptop) and I can say that while I enjoyed both experiences Im more fond of windows for its hardware configurations and software options.

People think me and a friend are jerks because we use mac. Then we tell them not to breathe on our pretty machines. They say their computers are more powerful, list specs, list every single program (not literally) that runs on PC or video game etc, and we just say "well ours looks better". And its nice to just show we don't really care about anything other than looks. What good is power if you can't look good in it? My macbook (and G3/G4 imac and G4 tower, but they havent seen those) is so beautiful. And that's all that matters to me. Next one the list: G4 cube.

My main problem with macs are as always the USERS not the just the glitches. Some of these people buy any apple product just for their illusion of being high class and god forbid you do extrude and bevel in adobe illustrator.

Macs are like pretty, spoiled girls... who don't get as many viruses (take that how you want). If I had the money, I'd hit it, but right now I have to spend my time with that hussy XP.
Actually, I like my XP desktop, but wouldn't mind having an Apple. Does owning an Apple make you a jerk? Meh. Owning a Mac only makes you a jerk if you're already a jerk. So I doubt it.
Now, if you go around spreading "Mac Love" by spouting how much better Apple is over its competitors, then I'd say yes. Same with any *nix enthusiast or Windows fanboy.
Anyway, we all know nothing can beat Suse amirite? *leaves quickly*

I like it better than Debian, I used to try home brewed Linux back in the days when I beleived the claims that open source is the next big thing claims that have been circulating for the last 10 years.

Go to the video in my sig. I made a big deal when I converted Mac, but I love my MacBook, so I don't really care what people say. There are things about Apple I still don't like, but to each his own. Viva la Mac!
