View Full Version : Best way to recover from a long hard buzz?

Last night I drank with a couple good friends of mine and we had nothing but bourbon and the occasional beer. Luckily I had Bourbon and Cokes and didn't puke or even come close, but I kept riding a hard buzz up until a couple hours ago. I've only slept 30 minutes, but my stomach feels sore and hungry. How do I recover?

Cold shower and strong coffe without sugar. Put a bag of ice in your head for cooling down, the blood slows down making īthe headaches less painfull. And sleep.

Water, Gaderade, greasy food. eventuall more sleep. um, yeah, shower, maybe drink again, depending on dehydration, but greasy food should do it.

Actually, I need this just as much as he does. I feel the same way. I got wasted with a lot of buddies last night. Although I had like...7 shots of vodka, and three beers. I took a nice hot shower. I dont feel much like eating though.

1 egg yolk
1 Tbls. Worcestershire sauce
1 dash black pepper
1 dash celery salt
1 dash tabasco
1 jigger oz. vodka or gin

You have to be careful not to break the youlk and be careful pouring the vodka or gin. Drink it in one gulp

God, I could use that right now. I don't have any of the ingredients though. I drank all the vodka, and what college kid has celery?

...so if you happen to see a college chick buying cartloads of celery, she must be a lonely vegan. that's my opinion.

Wouldn't carrots or cucumbers work better?

Anyway, I don't have a headache or anything right now, I just have a wicked case of nausea. I hate that feeling. Maybe I should make some coffee, but that would make me feel worse.

I'm glad I don't get hangovers anymore.

Fluids and sleep are the best "cures" for hangovers.

I've never suffered from a hangover. I don't know, I think I have a healing factor of the gods. And mind you, this past new year's eve I was drunk AND high all at once. I managed to ride the soberiety(sp?) express to it's final stop. Good times.

I usually just pass out when I'm drunk and wake up the next morning like nothing happened.

Yeah, I don't get hangovers. The worst I've gotten is really sleepy. I don't know why so many people make a big deal over it though. I mean, I feel fine after last night. I'm pretty surprised.

Step 1.: Rehydrate. 90% of a hangover is dehydration. Plain water will be better than coffee (and its caffeine) or juice (and the acid that'll hit your stomach).

Step 2.: Remember how bad you felt.

Step 3.: Armed with this memory, the next time you drink, order a tall glass of water per drink you have. Things like "on the rocks" and "and coke" don't count. Preventing a hangover is the most effective cure.

Ive got this handy book with tons of hangover cures.
Its pretty much all fruit/vegatble mixes you grind to solve what certain drinks do to your body.
Ive had fun with that book as the drinks dont taste bad.

Absolutely disgusting, but I hear it works. >_<

Or just drink a lot of water.

Or MacDonalds. The fat/grease/lard from a burger and fries will suck up all that alcohol from your system. But then you'd have heart problems...

For some reason I always found that ice cream worked. Either that or a hair of the dog. Depending on whether I actually had anything important to do that particular day.

If I did, I'm not sure I was thinking it through. When you've got a headache, anything that makes your heart rate rise is usually going to be way more painful than pleasurable.

Well, u oviously dont drink enough then :P
I dont get hangovers that bad, jus bad dehydration mainly. Considering that last night i drank 3 scotch n cokes, 2 or 3 beers an 3 or glasses of red, i dont feel to bad. Well, off to work..

Oh yeah, the older u get, the worse hangovers get, so heavy binging aint to smart.

I fail at drinking. I puke at night AND have hangovers in the morning.

Your best bet is to eat a lot of bread or toast, and drink a lot of water. I take two tylenol to help the pain subside, but bear in mind that it's just to help you cope, not a substitute for water, and it sure ain't a "cure".

Time and pain my friend. The pain doesn't really help, but it'll definitely keep you on your toes.

Drinking lots of water helps me. It flushes my system a little bit, but then again, I don't really get hangovers.
