So, we all saw the Snickers commercial during the Super Bowl about the two guys accidentally kissing after sharing a Snickers. Well, Gay rights activist are outraged over it, saying it a type of discrimination, bashing, ect.
Most of this was over the alternate endings of the players reacting to the kiss, saying things like "that ain't right, ect." I thought it was funny, but I can see where they're coming from, by saying it's a type of bashing, but do you think its being blown out of proportion?

 I saw that on YouTube. The activists are taking it way too seriously. If you look at the commercial, you can see all the clues that it was meant to show off comedically the typical reaction of straight men.

They are taking it out of hand....you don't see immigrants protesting the Mencia/Bud commercial (Mencia is a moron btw).

I don't see what a bunch of pansy men have to do with it-....Oh, I get it....Hah...funny.

Typical overreaction, I'd say. These same people probably think Rosie O'Donnell's "chingchong" thing was excusable because she's a homosexual, and therefore can't be offensive or racist in any way.

I just saw the ad on YouTube. It looks harmless to me. Supposedly, some football players commentary toward the commercial was homophobic, but the commercial itself looked like just another variation of beer commercials that have two men in them.

I think their taking it a little too seriously. If it was really that anti-gay, they probably wouldn't have it shown at all.

It wasn't bad at all. Prince thrashed his guitar with his mad skillz. He even did a cover of Foo Fighters ans All Along The Watchtower.
As for the commercial, I saw it originally on SB night. I lol'd. Typical America blowing things way out of proportion.

Ug, I hated Prince's cover of "Best of You". It made my stomach turn so much I had to put in guitar hero and play Monkey Wrench to get the bad taste out of my mouth.
As for that ad, it was silly. Activists need to stop being so damn...active....ist...

I didn'y like it. I didn't think it was even as good as the Mencia one. As for the while controversy, I just don't care.
Budweiser won the night though. I loved the rock and the bottle opener ones

um, All Along the Watchtower was written by Jimi Hendrix!! arguably the greatest guitarist of ALL TIME!!! Prince could NEVER compare to Hendrix. saying that he was awesome, had 'mad skillz', shows that you have no clue at all about real music. him covering hendrix is just wrong. Prince is not rock dammit. rock is just a word that MTV and Co. throw around to describe pop culture today. todays music killed rock. ill tell you what, go on youtube and look for videos of Jimi Hendrix playing. Prince being rock.....never happen.

The only thing this commercial made me feel, is hungry...for a Snickers...which I am eating at the moment actually. See, Advertising did good. Two Men Kissing = Chocolate. That's why I don't watch yaoi, if I did, I'd be like fifty pounds over weight.

I completely forgot it was the super bowl this weekend ( I guess I was too excited that I was finally able to see letters from iwo jima in theaters <<;; )
I haven’t seen the commercial yet but it does sound like there making nothing into something, scares me to think how much more pc were going to get if people make complaints over little stuff like this.

No it wasn't. All Along the Watchtower was written by Bob Dylan. Jimi Hendrix only covered it.

Precisely what I was going to say.
Anyway, this incident is unfortunate, yet predictable. I knew the probable outcome as soon as I saw the commercial.

Guess I should feel fortunate that I was forced to watch the Super Bowl dubbed to spanish with spanish commentary over every stupid thing. The Half time was plagued with lame comments about how the boobie incident I don't even care about "changed the half time" blah blah blah. They kept on yapping about that stupid boob during the whole time Prince played whatever he played. I didn't hear Prince's lame performance at all because they lowered the volume so that you could enjoy the commentary about Jackson's boob for 20 minutes.
Since I saw the Super Bowl on mexican national tv, they didn't show that commercial you guys are talking about. All we got were lame Bimbo sandwich commercials. Oh and ordinary Nextel cellphone commercials. No funny Budweiser commercials of people acting like idiots, nothing worth comenting.

All this political correctness stuff just needs to go back to the way it was when I was younger. If you didn't like it then to damn bad, nobody really cares if something offended you or not. Just grow up and deal with it, that's life.
And I loved the half time show. Prince just killed it out there, and in that pouring rain on top of it all. Last time I saw somebody play that good in the rain was Pink Floyd about 15 years ago and they were the ones that made the rain on the stage.

Haha, your joking right?
Not to sway too far from the topic at hand, Jimi Hendrix was NOT the greatest gutiarist of all time. I love the man, he was a complete innovator, wrote excellent stuff and covered things perfectly. But he is NOT the greatest guitarist of all time.
Second, YOU obvioulsy don't know quote unquote "real music" if you cannot accept the fact that Prince is talented.
Third, don't go unloading all that MTV corporate america ****. Rock is a real genre. MTV is not rock. Have you looked at MTV at ALL lately. There's ****ing DATE MY MOTHER****ING MOM. Any music show at all on "Music Television" is crap *** hip-hop of todays suburban "gangsta". If you want rock, you watch VH1, or VH1 classics. The latter especially.
And lastly, I've seen Hendrix play. Multiple times. and not on some piss-poor quality youtube vid. I've seen actual footage. He is great, everyone knows that. But he was not "the best".
Thank you for your patronage. :)

Man, that's a tough call...talking about Janet Jackson's boob, or listening to Prince ruin one of my favorite songs...
The commentary is right, even if it was a bit excessive. Ever since that "incident", there have been no women in the halftime shows, at all. Scantily clad or otherwise, there have been no women performers at the halftime shows.

This year is looking up already, since people are finally starting to see how too many Americans are sensitive pricks
The Mooninite incident, the Snickers ad, and Prince's phallic guitar. People are finally starting to stand up to the complainers and just say "shut up!" If this year keeps going in this direction, I'm gonna love it!

Umm, I did say that, and I wasn't freaking out about it. I know where they're coming from, but I don't think the whole advertising campaign should have been stopped just because it was offensive. They overreacted in my opinion.
