This has been all over the news in Texas. It's an awesome project, but being from Texas they should have gone with the jalapeņo pepper.

"it will stay up for approxamately one month" ...they say, as if they really have a way to make a giant banana and launch it into space AND retrieve it.

And something tells me Texans aren't going to like the idea of a bunch of snooty french-canadians putting a giant banana in their airspace...

They could fill it with 3 meter long tungsten bananas and move it's orbit and rain spicy death (the banana is actually a spice) on our foes. Think of the shame you would feel having your leader killed by a giant space banana dropped from orbit.

I vote for a giant watermelon. The people of Africa would praise the Gods.

It's going to cost roughly one MILLION dollars to build and launch a banana into low Earth orbit? Good God, don't they have anything better to do?

Although I'll admit, it is pretty funny.

Actually it's an herb. But 'giant herbaceous' death doesn't have quite have the same ring to it I must say.

It will be quite a sight to behold.

What's the point of this?

Putting a banana into orbit needs a point?

I support this project as long as WE don't pay for it.

This is gay. Don't mess with Texas. That includes our skies!!!

One word, amusing. That's all I have to say about this.

I would almost be willing to drive down to Texas to see it.

I probably should have said this the first time, but...

Finally, a reason to go to Texas!

Herbs are obtained from the leaves of non-woody plants. As it is the sterile fruit of a flowering plant it is a spice.
