Have there been any news of an affordable DVD set box being released in the near future? Even AnimeNaton's Alchemist DVD bundle's price is ridicilous compared what you can actually get with that money instead.

No. Companies tend to take their time with releasing boxsets, especially if the singles sold well.

FMA Will not be released in box set as long as time exists. They will put it off until anime is out of style.. which will be a long time. xD

FUNi does release box sets after a while and they are mostly cheaper.
FMA will take a while, maybe in late 2007 or in 2008.

Oh well, the series starts airing on TV over here in Finland, so that'll give me some patience to wait longer for the box set.

I own the whole series but the idea of all in one complete box set might be worth it for me. I understand the release of it will be awhile yet. ^-^

I only buy a series if there is a box set, so I really want a box set.

Season 1 Part 1 Boxset is slated for a release in June. No idea how many dvds it contains (im guessing only 3 since "season 1" is discs 1-6)

I don't know. Funi is delaying their titles more and more these days.

So i bought this the other day Season 1 Part 1 and my friend is telling me its a bootleg which im pretty sure its not, the reason hes saying it is because inside the 4 dvds are in a fold over case like the chinese bootlegs you sometimes get hes say they should be in a hardcase dvd box thats inside the actual boxset.
Theres another part with it and it has like loads of little FMA like leaflets with characters on it and about them and the boxset says Funi on it.
Im pretty sure its legit but just want to make sure.

Its a bootleg, the only uncut One Piece DVDs are the Japanese R2's which don't have subs & their 4 eps per DVD(which is a lot for R2J).
My mistake:lol: I thought this was in the One Piece forum. You always talk about it after all;)
Anyway, how many DVDs is your set? 4 sounds like the real thing.

Darn, I was hoping there was only gonna be 3 of them. In all honesty, I think 2 boxsets with 26 episodes in the first one and 25 in the last would've been much nicer. But, I'm still gonna pick these up eventually.

I'd say hold off. Not only will prices go down, but i wouldn't doubt Funimation doing a 5th boxset with all 51 episodes, and an exclusive bonus disc with the Reflections & Premium Collection OVAs.
I think i said it already in this thread, but just look at how they released the Conquerer of Shamballa. They did a LE version two months after the regular version came out, so if anyone who had the LE version pre-ordered wanted to see the movie, they'd have to either wait another two months or buy the regular version as well. Pretty smart business move.

I pre-ordered the LE version and it was very hard to resist not watching it until my copy came. Eventually I caved and watched a jpn audio fansub. I could have rented it, but I really wanted to watch the dub version on my official copy rather than a fansub or rental.
Anyways, i'd personally hold off on buying anything FMA. I feel like an HD release will pop up within a year or two.

Blu-ray is high definition. "HD-DVD" is dead. ;)
