I took my last name and just reversed it.
My real name is Pieter Nillefert. It's a Dutch name as I am of Netherlandish heritage.

IDK if I posted here but I think I said either on this thread or another one like this that my real name is Meghan (obviously) and my friend calls me Meggles. It's usually not taken on forums and it's simple and easy to remember.
Sora N
July 22nd, 2009, 02:08 PM
Sora N came from Kaleido Star’s main character Sora Naegino (at the time of joining AN I was watching Kaleido Star and I really liked Sora’s personality and strengths.)

KatayokuのTenshi
July 23rd, 2009, 06:39 AM
It's the name of a song... I'm not even all that fond of the song to be honest.
Katayoku no Tenshi was too long for the name field at the time, hence the 'の'.

I think I owe an explanation for my name as I'm pretty sure no one gets it.
Basically my close friends call me 'faith' or 'faith man' (that's another story altogether but to put it bluntly it's because of me being more religious than my friends when we were younger). And I had an American friend years back who would always say the word 'kid' at the end of most of his sentences, ad-libbed it all the time. Now I've always been a fan of the east london rapper Kano and he sometimes says 'K.A!' (the first two words of his stage name) in his songs, so I would say 'F.A!' as a joke every now and then. My American friend liked me saying F.A. and when he saw me he would say something like 'Yo, F.A. kid!'. And that rolls off the tongue for me considering the context of it all (also I haven't seen American guy in years) and when I was thinking of a name for AN I was going to put faith or faithman but me being myself, I decided to make the name a little complicated and thought about f2akid as in - F.A. kid.
So, I'm sure that's not what anyone was expecting but it finally explains the name.
So why did you add the 2 ?? Fave number or something?

November 16th, 2009, 05:09 PM
Well, when I first started getting involved with teh interwebz, I took on the name of my "alter ego", Willow. I say "alter ego" because she was the Sailor Scout Mary Sue character I created for myself when I was much younger... Sailor Natura. Yeah, original, I know. Luckily for everyone else, I never wrote stories, only kept everything inside my head. Well, eventually, when I developed some really close friends, we created our own universe, and she ended up evolving and becoming a part of that world. And then she was used for other little things along the way. But her next biggest role was as my online persona.
Now, Willow isn't really an original name, obviously, so once I got to my 3rd? forum, I came across the issue of not being able to use that nickname. I considered adding numbers or other words at the end, dismissed it, and instead switched out the last three letters with the initials of my name. And it's been that way for a long time, since around 2002-03 or so.
I'm so paranoid about my real name... not because I don't like it (I love my name) but because of how unique it is. I know many people who could get away with using their names online (for e-mail or whatnot), not me. So I've always been Willow online (except for professional situations).
There is an anime character out there who has the same first name as me except for 2 letters. I'd been shocked the first time I heard it, but also greatly overjoyed. And funny enough, she was in the first fandom I was involved in.
+++++
Edit: lol, it's funny reading through this thread how many times people change their story.

Well, superplough asked me the same question after my post, to which I replied...
Just added that as a link between the F and the A, like saying F to the A but shortened to f2a to make it a whole lot simpler (while complicating it at the same time).
My favourite number would probably be 10 now that I think about it.
Pocahontas

Pocahontas is just a nickname my fam and school mates gave me bc I have long dark hair.

You ever notice if you change just a few vowels in a Japanese word, that word is completely different even if they sound alike?
Aragami sounds like Origami to me.

Purple Madness
November 17th, 2009, 01:27 PM
I heard the words 'Purple Madness' in the Pick of Destiny film. (when Jack Black & Kyle Gas are looking for the pick in the rock museum and Jack is going through the lasers, this funky song plays and it said 'Purple Madness').
And though the 'Purple' gimmick also came from Mr.Hedrix's 'Purple Haze'
Icer
November 17th, 2009, 04:23 PM
I created this name Icer when Iwas thirteen. I needed a name for a ghost hunet in a short story I was writing for a school homework assignment. I like Hockey and Iwas always icing the puck. Hence I'm an Icer.
Melion
November 18th, 2009, 12:22 AM
My name came from a book called Sword Of Shannara. There was a character called Menion in the book and I liked it.
To give it my personal touch on it I changed the "N" to a "L". the results: Melion.
Which gave me the nickname in my World Of Warcraft guild, "Melon the Squishy Tank"
Meh.
