View Full Version : Road to SuperBowl XLI

Wildcards
Kansas City at Indianapolis
Dallas at Seattle

N.Y. Jets at New England
N.Y. Giants at Philadelphia

First Round Byes
San Diego Chargers
Baltimore Ravens
Chicago Bears
New Orleans Saints

So, anyone's team make it to the post?

Its been a few since Dallas has made it to the post. As bad as things looked against the Lions I'm still pretty confident in this first round, hopefully Romo can shake it off in time. Think Philly will dominate as well as the Chiefs in Indy. As much as I'd like to see the Jets win cause I hate the Pats so much I still see them winning.

Anyway I'm still holding on to my Ravens/Cowboys SuperBowl bid.

Any other predictions?

Go Chelsea!! Wait um... I'm hoping any of the NY teams do something significant. Other than that I think I'd like anyone but the Cowboys or Patriots to go all the way.

Philly has always been my team. They'll deffinately beat the Giants, which saddens me, being a NY'er...but I'm happy in a way as well....
Dunno how far they'll make it past that...

Garcia's been filling in surprisingly well for Mcnabb, let's just hope he keeps it up..

LT v Tiki would be interesting.
LT v Alexander would be less interesting, but whatever.
Too bad the AFC has higher quality teams, but the NFC has more teams that I want to like. I want to like the Giants (his name is Tiki Barber, that alone makes them great) the Eagles, the Seahawks and the Saints. The only AFC team I genuinely like is the Colts, but they don't have much of a defense.

Philly might make it in ('05 all over again) and of course I'll be happy but they'd probaly screw it up in the end and lose. And I say this as someone from Philly.

Garcia's been filling in surprisingly well for Mcnabb, let's just hope he keeps it up..This guy has made a scary comeback. Although I doubt he'll take Mcnabbs spot, if they do somehow make it all the way you gotta wonder. Either that our start somewhere else.

Think its gonna come down to Chargers/Ravens in the AFC, Baltimore's the only team thats shut down LT. That could be a killer rematch

I doubt he'll take Mcnabbs spot also. But for a middle aged caucasian(), he's really surprised me. It's about time he has a break. Damn Mcnabb though, not that it's his fault. I just wish he'd heal! (Garcia has my hopess and prayers with him). But Mcnabb is O-U-T out. He won't even be back if they make it all the way...not that I'd throw him in and chance it for a superbowl anyways.

Now that's true Philly spirit. I'm from Philly, same opinion; the defense is playing pretty well but it seems they can't stop the run anymore.

I'm a Bears fan, but if they play like they did against the Packers there is no way in hell they will be going.

That said, I'm still pulling for them to go to the Superbowl.

While I would love more than anything else to see my Cowboys make it to the big game Romo is going to have to get his act together. No more sloppy throwing like he has been, and let the ball get run sometime. It won't hurt anybody, except maybe TO who set the drop record for the league <_<

I would also really like to see Indy make it, I've been a Manning fan since he came to the NFL, but loosing to Houston? That is like loosing to Oakland, they just can't let things like that happen and hope to stay up at the level needed to go to the Super Bowl.

Earlier in the season, at the start actually, I would have said Chicago would be guaranteed but after seeing Grossman play when he isn't fully on his game is like watching a high school team try to cut it in the NFL.

As green as he looked I still think we make a Bowl run with em as long as the Tuna's in the back of his ear.
Poor TO, leads the league in dropped passes and TD receptions -_-; still doesnt make the Pro Bowl.

I'm from Kansas City and have been a fan of the Chiefs my whole life. What happened to us was freak luck and now that we are in, I want them to get revenge on the Colts with their sucky rush defense. We just have to rush Manning and get him unstable and we are assured a victory. Personally I would like to see a Chiefs/Chargers AFC Championship game...now that would be a game. As for the Super Bowl, I'm just going to have to take one game at a time and not get too exited, because we haven't won yet

Arlington, Texas is a dump. (No offense to anyone that lives or works there.)
They have a lot of underdeveloped and abandoned buildings, and neither Dallas or Fort Worth's mass transit systems (DART/The T) are available in the city. They should have razed the Cotton Bowl since Arlington is taxed under Tarrant County, meaning a name change would be needed to reduce confusion.

Im a niner fan but YEAH REGGIE SHOULD'VE WON ROOKIE OF THE YEAR! Vince sucks lol well he's OK but Reggie bush is a better rookie/player overall. Without him, they wouldn't have gone that far. Even though he didn't really do as much excitin runs like he use to with USC, HE'S A BIG *** THREAT TO ANY DEFENSE, the saints can either use him as a decoy when Deuce runs the ball or do play action plays and he can run routes and make big catches. But yeah the saints defense sucks, thats what they need to work on. They just gotta wait till the draft, they need better safetys FAST lol

Thought Vince deserved Rookie of the year more. I'm not taking anything away from Bush, the guy didn't really start heating up till mid season. He did torch the Cowboys D, that deserves credit in itself I guess. But the main thing is that he had Brees next to him who is having an MVP season.
Vince was literally by himself on that Titans offense, granted that he had an underrated Titans D to help him but the dude found ways to win despite his unimpressive stats. You could argue for Bush stat wise, but in the heart and guts department you gotta give it to inVINCEble. Give him some weapons to work with and the kids going to be dangerous.
Mcnair going to Batimore and Titans picking up Vince were the best transactions that could of happened for both of these teams in the offseason.

Why are you taking it so seriously?

I've posted that stuff without an ounce of sincerity. I have no grudge against the Cowboys, they're the team I wanted to emerge out of the NFC after neither of my fav teams made the playoffs.

Greenbay being one of them. You can bring up the 4th and 26 play vs the Eagles as much as you like if it'll make you feel better. Or Vick making KGB look like a naked girl giving the Pack that rare Lambeau playoff loss.

Its just sports.Dude I'm not really taking it as seriously as you think, sorry if it came off like that. I actually wanted GB to make it just to see Favre in the post, technically they should have considering there record vs the Giants(strength of victory BS).
I've seen alot of people jump off the Romo band wangon and it just pissed me off. Anyway, I do tend to take my Cowboys overly serious sometimes -_-;
No biggie.

I'm cool with you man but your really pushing it. Screw the ******* who'll actually buy that thing.
I hope he blows up next season, you'd pretty much have to win it all to recover from something like that.

Koala thinks Indy's gotta shot, Interesting. If he's going to break that post season curse it might as well be against one of the best D's, good luck on that. If they can do it I'll be impressed.

Indy DOES have a shot. If they have a semi-decent defense...for the rest of the playoffs...

I myself haven't jumped off the Romo bandwagon. I tried to but I remembered that if it weren't for him we never would have made it to the playoffs.

The Eagles and the Saints are the two feel good stories of the NFl, so I think its a shame that they play now, while the Seahawks and Bears, both undrachieving teams, play in the other game.
Chargers Pats will be interesting. I want the Chargers to win, but I can't pick against Brady in the playoffs. I despise Merriman and Brady almost equally, but I genuinely like LT.
Colts Ravens will be either very boring and low scoring, or exciting and high scoring. If its a game full of esciting plays, the Colts have the edge, but the Ravens can grind it out much better. I want the Colts, but I can't pick them in the playoffs for the same reason I can't pick against the Pats, common sense.

Eagles/Cowboys is pretty strong (I should know, I'm a Cowboys fan.), but here in New Jersey the Eagles/Giants rivalry is just as bad. And now that the Eagles beat the Giants, while the Cowboys lost to the Seahawks, every single Eagles fan in the world is absolutely insufferable. That is because fans of major Philadelphia teams are the most spirited (read: obnoxious, retarded, and generally annoying) fans of them all.

^As much as I hate the Pats it is a bit unfair to put blame on the whole team for what a few stupid players did, Brady did do the classy thing and walk off after shakes. I back up LT's emotional outburst(two thumbs up for blasting Belichick ^_^) , those players were very disresptecful. You can call LT a sore loser, maybe he could of handled it more tactfully but those guys were a good example of what a sore winner is.

Now my hatred for the Pats stems more towards their overated head coach, dude gets more credit than what he deserves considering the tools he's had to work with. Brady I give all the cred in the world too, the guy is elite(12-1 playoff record) and an instant hall o famer. What I don't like is the comparisons to Joe though. Joe was something Super Special, he's the reason my Boys are not in the 7-8 ring club. Give Brady another ring and a few more MVP's then yeah, you could make the argument.
Another thing is the mentality in which Belichick runs his team under, its like he's running a squad of emotionless androids.

Heh, I was telling a friend who is a Bears fan that their fate rests solely on Grossman. Something's telling me this is going to be one of the best SB's ever.

Good for Dungy, dude deserved it.
The bad Rex was bound to emerge.
Rex:0 Rain:1 :P I don't think this game would of been nearly as interesting without the weather.

Great Halftime show btw, Prince still got it

Even though I am and will always remain a die-hard Bears fan, I have to admit that I am still happy for the Colts. I am a fan of the Colts whenever they aren't playing the Bears and Peyton Manning is one of my favorite QBs of all time. Manning and Dungy are both amazing in the football scene and out. Congrats Manning/Dungy, you both deserve the ring. At least those stinkin' Patriots didn't get another ring. :P

Anyways, seeing as I am also a Chicago Cubs fan, you can guess what I'll be saying until next year.

Thanks to the TiVo unit, I managed to skip the whole thing. Prince, or whatever he decides to call himself any particular week, makes me sick. Also, his hair was terrifying.

I think that's the most fumbles I've seen in one game.

Yeah, the rain was definitely a factor in this game. Although, it didn't seem to phase Peyton's throwing game.

Probably becasue most of which were quick slants or dump offs.

Well, to be fair to Rex, this was his "first" full season as a Bears starter. As much criticism as he gets, there are MUCH worse starting QBs in the NFL right now.

I think, or hope, that Rex will learn to become more consistant as he gets more experience playing.

Awesome game.

I liked the first half better because the baul was everywhere adn it was a close game. The last quarters I already knew Indy would win. But the whole game was good.

The halftime show was kick-***. Prince raped that gutiar with his mad skillz. And he did some awesome covers. He had that amazing purple guitar of his symbol too, which was pretty sick.

And the comercials were pretty hilarious, I only found 1 or 2 I didn't enjoy.

Also, I won 40 bucks. :D :D

I didn't really watch alot of the game since my main team wasn't in it, but I was still cheering for the Colts to win the whole time. Lol I don't bet on games with money so my dad and I bet a pop on it. ^-^ Also some of the commercials I glances at were really good. Super Bowl commercials kick major butt.

I'm sorry but in the Super Bowl you can't

1) Throw 2 ints. I will give each QB 1 int. but 2 is 1 too many even if its raining.
2) Fall backwards twice cause the other team to get 2 "sacks".
3) Miss handle 2 snaps....(this one takes the cake).

I don't care if your a rookie 5 year old out there you can't do that stuff in any game esspecially the SUPER freakin BOWL. Rex fell apart I yes the weather was bad but not unplayable bad. If Grease isn't the starter next year I'll be shocked.

Too bad Brees injured his shoulder in the Pro Bowl. Hope he recovers just like last year.

I was surprised Vick wasn't voted into the probowl. Not saying he deserved to go but you would think he would of been voted in the year he rushed for the most yards for a QB ever.
