So I've seen this movie maybe 3 times. I just watched it..damn no matter how many times I see it, I am always confused about the end. I think that Ayato died as a human and Mishima was given memories of their "past". However, how is it that he returns? I'm really lost.

hmm I guess I am not the only one who is confused by this movie. Perhaps it will be answered sooner or later.

It's actually not, since he's not saying anything certain. The ending is symbolic enough not to be easily spoiled.

I may see this on a NetFlix DVD just out of curiousity, (My brother has an account). The series is the true story though.

I love the RahXephon movie. It is confusing at the end though.
I never really stopped to think of it. I'm gonna have to watch it again, now!^^

The movie needs to be avoided like the plague. Too much was changed from the series, way too much. People that were supposed to die didnt and vice virsa. And what's up with the constant referance to "Thru the looking glass" novel. It was never referenced so much if at all in the series.

The movie's a piece of garbage. Nuff said. Sometimes they pretty much tell you to rely on your series knowledge to sum up the events of point A to point B, and then they change it when it's convenient. If the extra scenes had added anything to Rah, it would've been worth it to flesh things out (like the school flashback), but since what little original material is there is an alternate telling, you can't even get anything out of that.
It's kind of like being forced to watch a recap episode, only this one pisses on the originals. Stick with the TV series. The story's ambiguous enough there but at least well done. Tons of history involved in it already. Wasn't made to be condensed into an alternate telling. Telling us to use our series knowledge and yet forget our series knowledge when it deviates makes no sense whatsoever. Worst direction ever.
