All the music in the worlds, and during the battles.. don't sound like the genius work of Nobuo that I absolutely love. It sounds like.... Star Wars. Im not dissin SW but uhh.. this is FF. Not SW.
But that my question. Does anyone know if its still Nobuo who does the music for that game. And if it is, he really is changin his stuff, and if its not, why the HELL would they replace him?

I don't know. I heard a rumor that Nobuo quit doing the music for FF. Though it was never confirmed... If he is doing it, it's only in part I guess.

Hitoshi Sakimoto did the music for the game so that there would be it.

I think the same guy who did the music for Final Fantasy Tactics did the music for XII. I also believe that same person has done the music for all the games with Ivalice featured in them.

It's really too bad, Uematsu-Sensei's music was so good. I haven't been enjoying the music as much since he left... oh well.. (Not saying the music is bad).

Yeah, I didn't think that Nobou did the music for Final Fantasy XII as none of the music so far has been that good, IMO.

As crow said, Sakimoto has been the primary composer for every Ivalice based game.
Uematsu did the main theme for Tactics Advance. He was also involved the vocal track for FFXII.

I'll definately take Sakimoto's XII score over Uematsu's IX & X scores, personally I think he's past it but the music in the Lost Oddesey intro was great and I've yet to check out the Blue Dragon score.
Sakimoto did a great job in XII especially with the world map/dungeon music since he had no battle music to cut to.

I dunno.. I love Nobuo's for VIII and X so much. And didn't he do 9 and 7? The composition is similar enough. But they are perfect for every setting, scenario, effect.
I think this composition for XII is too.. Brassy. I really like the oboe, harp, and main strings, and somtimes bells that Nobuo emphisizes. It was absolutely beautiful. This is too.. Guild Wars and Star Warsish for FF for me.. I dunno. I just don't like it as much.

I dunno FFT is my favourite set of music from any FF game. I still hum the Lucavi/Stone theme from time to time. XII's music is meh nothing real great has grabbed my attention yet except I rather like the Phon Coast music.

To me the FFXII music sounds like hashed classical music with techno-ish speed beats and music effects. I much prefered Nobuo's music as it has much more tone variation than FFXII's. However, I prefer FFXII for it's mood setting. In that, it cannot be beaten, whereas I found Nobuo to be slightly out of place in some occasions.
Then again, I'm probably not the best of critics, considering my hearing.

Yeah, that's exactly how I have felt. Usually Final Fantasy music will at one point grab me and really make me feel it's presence in the scene. No music has done that for me yet in FFXII though.

The only music by Uematsu in FFXII is the crystal theme, followed by the opening theme. Did anyone else pick up on the fact that FFXII's opening theme is the closing theme Uematsu used at the end of every other FF?
XII's music is done by the Tactics guy, and just as BM, that's one of my all time favorite pieces (one of the few OST's I bought from AN). I like the Eastersand music, and I'm sure there's more I'll enjoy as the game progresses.

Yeah, I noticed that immediately since it happens to be one of my favorite FF tunes ever.

Uematsu-san is my idol for X's work alone. He is a god among men.

Yeah, the opening theme especially. Absolutely perfect, and absolutely beautiful. Phenominal really. Suteki da ne is really pretty too.
Oh, and VIII is just the best music of all of them for me. The theme for Balamb Garden is beautiful. Maybe I'm a Lion (Squalls Theme) is awesome with its drum rythems, and deep, darkish bells. And the acoustic song theme for Balamb (the actual town) is so relaxing. And those are just some examples ya know?
I just love his work.

I hope you know that he didn't do the entire soundtrack. A lot was done by other composers.

Same guys who did FFX-2 yeah? Guess it explains why I felt he "fell off" with X.

FFX's soundtrack was largely forgettable for me (don't stone me!) except for the opening theme. Though I did like the battle and boss music. I didn't know the composer of Threads of Fate was involved with FFX's music. Threads of Fate had an awesome soundtrack.

Pretty much. FFXI and FFVIII so far have the two best soundtracks for me. =/
