Didn't see it in theater and haven't rented it since it was released earlier this month.

Anybody who did see it care to share their opinion on it?

Jesus Christ this movie was absolutely beautiful. A great way for Jet Li to end his career. I fell in love with it when he speaks with Tanaka.

I found it mediocre. Jet Li's character wasn't very likable, there was hardly any character development, the plot wasn't very coherent, the blind girl thing seemed tacked on at best, etc.

I saw it twice, once in theatres and then on DVD w/ dub. The dub was funny sounding. Some of the subs were ummm.... odd. There was a change in the dub version though. That guy that got beat up never says he did it with the other guys mistress, he said it was all a lie.

I liked the movie. At first Jet Li was a total ***, but he comes around to understanding his fathers way.

about tea? I liked that too. I like how he explained diversity doesn't lead to superiority or inferiority (that's why he started up that sports thing, to unite all the wushu in china instead of fighting to claim superiority over all of them).

I recommend it.

I thought this movie was amazing. I actually saw it three nights in a row, opening weekend.

I strongly recommend renting this movie.

Loved it from the first time I saw it on LCD, bought the DVD last week.
Its not Jet Li's best fighting wise but I liked the real life character he portrays, found him inspiring.
His reasons for wanting to play the character have made me a fan of his forever.

I fell in love with it when he speaks with Tanaka.I liked the scene when their fighting and Tanaka was having a hard time using Huo's weapon, then they stop and exchange there weapons back. Thought that was pretty cool.

Ha, that was pretty funny.

The fight had a good message too, "No one is immortal."

It deftinteley is worth a rental, espeically if you have a nice home theater setup. I myself would not be interested in purchasing the DVD.

that movie was awesome, we did make fun of the blind girl and how she would get her arms stuck in the meatgrinder by feeling her way around, lol good times

I saw it in theatres, and again just last week. I think it's an amazing movie, beautiful. Huo Yuanjia proves himself by becoming champion of Tianjin, looses everything because of a mistake and works to build something even better. the fights were very good, especially the final fight.

I was planning on seeing it, but people describing it as "beautiful" has turned me off from it.

One of the two martial arts movies I've seen more than once (the other being Kung Fu Hustle). I think it was great.

Jet Li's character starts out unlikeable, but if you are seriously going to argue that there was no character development ESPECIALLY on Jet Li's part then you didn't watch the movie.

Its good.

I felt Jet Li overacted in the beginning of the movie, but after the first turning point, his character feels more genuine. I agree about the blind girl, though. No real point to her. She was just sorta "there". I lol'd at MGS's comment though.

Aside from my complaints, which really are minor, I enjoyed this movie thoroughly. I like how it starts and how it ends, the middle drags a little, but not so much that it's aggrivating.
