Hey im totally new to the whole cosplay thing, tho i'd like to be yourichi... that being besides the point, ive never been to a cosplay expo before and i knida need some info on it, i dont just mean what it is as theres plenty of posts of that already but more so who i can go with, i can honestly say none of my friends are interested in anime, and my bf is but he thinks im crazy to wanna cosplay. And basically i really dont wanna go on my own lol. Is there any fangroups i can meet or alike to sort out cosplay groups? i have no idea how it works so ANY if will be GREATLY appreciated :)

lol and im also a cosplay fanatic XD
usually when it gets nearer to the convention, the amecon website will be updated with forums on so you can chat to other people going and work out cosplay groups if you want to, ask for help with anything to do with the con (including cosplay) and calm your nerves a little and meet loads of people going to the convention too before it starts. loads of people cosplay at conventions so you definately wont look out of place and you will find that if someone recognises the character you are, they will want a photo or a chat etc, its all good fun.

The Amecon website has forums now (http://forum.amecon.org/), so you can get to know other people who are going to be at the con.

I shall be going, as, I imagine, will Sharp-kun and a few others from AN, I wouldnt worry about not knowing anyone though, cons are a very social place, you'll have no trouble meeting people and getting on.
