Oh dear god, not another one of these... >_< Just thinking about another Kagome vs. Kikyou debate makes my stomach drop. We have had enough Kagome vs. Kikyou threads, and the debates were hot enough to melt an artic glacier.

I don't know how many Kagome vs. Kikyou threads have been created in the past, but I managed to find two, the latter of which was a particularly heated one (and the one that happened to come to mind when I saw this thread):

Just for the record... I picked Kagome because I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT STAND KIKYO!!! If there ever existed a Kikyo Hater's Club, then I would join it without a doubt!!! Yes, so know you know that while I love Sesshomaru, I hate Kikyo... *goes to strangle her*

Yes, I know it's intense, but she is the only(?) anime character that I despise(other than Asrael from Gundam Seed), and although I'm not insanely fond of Inuyasha and Kagome together, I think it would be better than Inuyasha and that girl I shall not mention the name of. There, I think I got my point across!

I'd say Kikyo. Befor eshe came back to life (and thus before she died). Then she's just annoying.

I don't really read the manga... maybe I should. What could make Kagome such a better choice?

The main reason (for my choice, anyway) is a spoiler, so I'm hesitant to give that reason. (I might consider doing so, but only if I know that people who respond to that reason will use spoiler gags, for the sake of those who don't want a spoiler.)

Another reason is because Kagome is just so much nicer to Inuyasha than Kikyou is - and I'm speaking of the resurrected Kikyou (because we know more about her personality). Let's face it: the Kikyou brought back from the dead can be a real bi-atch sometimes. One can argue that Kagome can, too, but only when she is emotionally hurt. I don't know about the anime, but in the manga, it's been a long while since she has used the "Osuwari!" command.
