Yes, the anime stopped it's original Japanese broadcast 2 years ago (Sep '04) and yes, the manga is still running weekly to this day.

I just don't like how it drags on for so long. It has a decent story, but its dragged out way too long for its own good. I stopped watching around episode 33 or so. I'm under the impression that little changed between then and when the anime ended. I know the anime had filler, but a lot of it was from the manga and a lot of the manga seems fillerish itself.

The anime fails because of lack of manga material. Too much filler kills series and IY was fairly good for 50 to 70ish episodes when the first batch of filler kicked in.

The fangirls also make it suck, one of my friends like the manga but is scared to admit it openly because of the rabid fangirls.

You know...it kind of defeats the purpose of creating a thread in which people are supposed to test your InuYasha knowledge if you only answer questions in PMs. You're not proving to anyone that you know more about IY than the experts who already frequent the IY board, and you're only setting yourself up for teasing and fangirl bashing.

Even if you are a diehard InuYasha fangirl, there are a lot of people in the anime fandom who don't like the anime and will never have anything good to say about it. It's in your best interest to keep threads about InuYasha in the InuYasha section.

Ah! Now that makes sense of the deleted scene I saw where Daphne put on Scooby's collar & leash, sidled up and said, "Now let's see just why they call you Shaggy, shall we?" I always wondered about that, because there weren't any ghost pirates around.

(How many times have we been through this? How many threads have been posted with your first question, and how many times have we had to give the answer?)

The InuYasha anime ended in Japan over three years ago, back in 2004. If SUNRISE (the studio that produced the anime) had been planning on creating more episodes, I'm sure we would have heard about it by now. We have heard nothing, absolutely nothing. In fact, when the anime ended, interviews with representatives from SUNRISE indicated that the anime was over for good.

As for your second question... Yes, Kagura does die, eventually, in the manga.
