but these cosplays are INSANE!!!! that suzumiya was nuts, rediculously accurate. and the lacus at the beginning had a really good costume. crap man.....our cosplays suck. and they have way better looking fangirls. look at ours:x. plus they dont have any fat people over there, so that also makes their cosplays better. however, there is one thing we have that will always make us have an edge....*drumroll* BOOBS!!!:lol::lol: but just look at our fangirls compared to theirs...:x

the only ones i recognized were SEED, Ouran, and Haruhi Suzumiya. that one girl looked a lot like suzumiya. its nice to see different anime other than the run of the mill series.

how very true. hopefully with several series on the decline, and many moving up through the ranks, there will be more varieties. plus fullmetal is dead, naruto is dying, due to cn and fillers killing a chunk of the fans, FF will never go away (why!?). bleach will go strong for a while. and for the sake of the world as we know it, NO MORE INUYASHA!!!!!!!!!

i have a feeling that next con season will have a lot of new series.

I honestly can't stand how people think that only models should cosplay. There are many people worldwide that cosplay. Hell, I'm 4'9 AND I'm a cosplayer. Also, many people cosplay because it's a fun hobby, and many people make their own costumes. Besides most of the costumes from Japan are made by professionals. Anyway, the costumes shown on the youtube were alright.

yea models cosplaying is kinda cheating. plus theres some fan made stuff out there thats better than the pre made stuff. hell i was thinking when i get out on my own that id take on commisions to make metal props. unfortunately first id have to learn how to weld-_-; and i have some ideas for probs that are really advanced, such as making a hollow metal prop and filling it with impact absorbing foam, then sealing up the hole, so it would be lighter and more realistic than just a slab of sheetmetal.

actually dont confuse the haruhi suzumiya one from the others. that anime is really good, and is far from the typical schoolgirl thing. actually, haruhi turns out to be practically GOD! its not a superhero thing, and the anime is pretty off the wall antics

That Shana one took me awhile to actually realise... When they had the close up I thought it was the girl from "12Kokuki". Other than that, the Aria costume looked fairly well made(I wonder if she did it herself o_o).

But yeh, I usually dont like cosplays but this Haruhi one just appealed to me. She should be in the top 10 lol! I Believe shes better than the ones in that video clip (Since I'm a noob when it comes to cosplay stuff, I dont know what ppl look for in cosplays lol).

Yep, Shakugan no Shana :D She was the one with the red/orange hair, melon pan and at one point holding a katana(Nietono no Shana). Opinion wise, that cosplayer wasnt loli enough to cosplay shana lol! Good costume tho(even tho its just another uniform :D)

Completely agreed. A cosplay show I went to at Tokyo dome once game me an interesting perspective on Japanese cosplayers.

About 90% are female
About 10% try anything creative/risky
About 60% are good and,
About 5% are worth writing home about

Compared to what Ive seen in america it seems ammericans tend to occupy polar opposites, either amazing or terrible; while the Japanese safely stay in "good" or "very good".

Nothing in this clip blew me away, they're well made, but in no way interesting.

Why do SO MANY fanboys talk about how gross fangirls are, when half of them (1) never shower (2) never wash their hair, face, or clothes (3) spend 95% of their day eating cheetos and donuts, etc.

It's so disgusting that most of them think they deserve a super-model as a girlfriend. Ugh. Half of the Japanese cosplays you see are either done by real models or photoshopped to the extreme, anyway.

well the rate of obesity over there is a lot lower than ours. and trust me, fanboys are no different. and everyone would like a supermodel as a gf, but theres also a little thing called "being in your league", and "social skills". and male fans usually arent very high in the looks department. plus the fact of being an anime fan comes into play. two very different social classes.

so yes its unrealistic. hell for most people its unrealistic, unless you have the physical qualities to possibly aquire one (or enough money), and ARE NOT an anime fan. btw, there is NO WAY that im a fanboy.

Well, it's not really fair to compare your regular, everyday female cosplayer with a professional model. Of COURSE the latter is going to look better, mostly because they're photo-shopped to the point where they look like a freaking Barbie. And then going and talking about how gross those everyday cosplayers are is pretty low. I just don't see how guys think they have the right to do that, when very few of them are drop-dead gorgeous themselves.

I see female manga/anime/cosplay fans getting ridiculed a lot, and it's annoying. Male otaku's are just as bad. Please note that when I made that fat otaku comment, I was talking about the men as well as the women.
