Figure Ordering

I noticed that many of the figures for sale here have a pre-order cutoff date in December but are have release dates in May or June next year. Is it true that we have to wait 6 to 7 months for them to ship after ordering?

Yeah I'm not a big fan of preordering figures. I've had a backordered figure from Animenation from June 19, 2006. The figure (Bome 'Kaname & Theresa' PVC Figures set) supposedly came out in July or August, but I still do not have them. Up until a few months ago I was still getting Backorder notifications, but I'm nto anymore. I wonder if my order was finally canceled or what. I cant check my order status online so I have no idea.

However it isnt always a bad situation. I was able to get the Saber figure with the black dress and black sword for very cheap from AN. I had to wait a while after it was supposed to release, but I finally got it and it's in great shape. I'd of had to pay an extra $20/$30 to get it off ebay.

Waiting several months for figures does seem like a long time. Unfortunately, the figure market is a difficult one to navigate. Figures are often delayed and sometimes cancelled out right. It is simply the nature of figure production. Preordering in advance allows us to better ensure orders for our customers.

The Full Metal Panic Bome figures, for example, were due to be released in September and have been pushed back to January of 2007. I apologize if you were not notified of the update, though we only just found out ourselves.
