I keep telling my friends that I don't want to see the movie. A bunch of little kids, and stupid penguins dancing for two hours. Not my idea of a good movie neh?
My friends keep getting on my *** because they say I'm judging it before I see it, which I'm not, I just don't want to see it. But nonetheless, they keep riding my behind, (not in the good way.)
So long story short, how many of you have seen it, and would it be worth the 12 bucks I would have to spend to watch it?

I saw it. I think it was worth watching. It wasn't really the kind of movie I like to see, but it was entertaining. I don't like the fact that it was so...happy...but I'm glad I saw it. Some little kids in the theater I went to were afraid of a few parts of it, and they screamed. XP
If you get really annoyed by cuteness and happiness, then you might not want to see it. I was annoyed by some parts of it, and I don't like the main character.

I haven't seen it, but I'm sure the conservative discussion of the characters being "gay" is more interesting than the actual movie.

Doesn't Robin Williams play like three different roles in it? I know one of which was a mexican-accented penguin, which was pretty funny. I saw parts of it (yes the bootleg) and it seems okay, better than alot of other 3-d animated flicks that have come out.
Oh and on the subject of animated flicks, definitely check out Flushed Away if it ever pops up with your homies.

Saw it last night with a female. Great movie. I actually enjoyed. I walked in with very low expectations. And as usual I used this movie as bait to get laid. But, let that be a lesson to you kids out there: never end up liking the movie you use for bait. It gets to you and brings your mental guard down by 3 notches. I didn't get laid, but, it's a start of something nice. So yeah, onto more banter about the movie:
Yeah, Robin Williams was damn funny in this movie. He played 2 roles. Ramon and Love Lace. The music was pretty....good. I'm not that big of a fan of musical stuff. I really didn't expect the movie to turn out the way it did because I'm so used to seeing the damn advertisement with the kid penguin(Mummbles) and in the movie you actually see him all grown up midway through the movie as a teenager.
I'd give this a 4 out of 5. The CG was just.....wow. Pixar better step their game up with their next offering. Because right now Happy Feet just looked like some PS7 graphics. It was visually beautiful.
The movie is pretty long too. Clocks in at about 2 hours.

WHat is up with all these nature-loving, pro-environment, "anti-human" CG movies? there have been afew out lately, what with that zoo movie, That backyard one, an d this one. It has themes of hunters and global waring in it

c'mon animeotaku, if you want to talk about anti human, you know you need something better than just "that backyard one." What you need is a classic, well known example, like a movie about a cute little animal whose mother's death at the hands of a hunter makes everybody cry, in short, you need to use Bambi.
I personally think that a movie with gay breakdancing penguins sounds better than a stock disney movie, but that's just me.

Talking cars with humanity built into it didn't seem too enthusiastic to me. felt a little creepy if you ask me.

Plough saw the trailer last night (while seeing Deck the Halls, which by the way is ridiculous)
The trailer was pretty funny and featured Queen i.e. awesome

...why can't Disney make a movie about the Cthulu Mythos? i mean, they could make a shatload of moolahs just casting a giant Ancient Squid and have it burst out in a song and dance number. im just saying.

The first half is hard to swallow. The second half gets better. The soundtrack is great, of course.

Is there an actual plot to this, other than 'they all dance and sing and yay! Everybody's so happy!"

Well, it was more like "yay we have an excuse to have them all dance at the end" which seems to be what EVERY 3-d animated movie does nowadays.. has them dance for no reason

Yeah that's what I thought when I saw the trailer. Though the little penguin that tries to rap is cute.

Have they already seen the easily superior March of the penguin documentary?
If not, show them what an emperor penguin movie SHOULD be like!!!
I'm not planning on watching Happy Feet. I want to protect my brain cells. I'm sick of CGI American movies. Sadly the only 2D animated film this year was Curious George which was "okay" but not outstanding (and very suggestively yaoi ACK).

I loved March Of The Penguins. Was a good documentary. Stuff like that I'm fine with, not the kooky animated versions.

God, you should of seen March of the Penguin with the retarded public I was stuck with. 90% 8 year old kids and their annoying parents thinking it was gonna be a CGI flimsy movie with cheesy songs and no plot. We were warned by the ticket sellers it was a documentary and I told the guy I KNOW.
Guess the warning didn't sink into the peanut brain heads of the rest of the people there. They even had a trailer for Happy Feet and I could hear a dumb mom telling her daughter the movie was going to be just like that.
Halfway through the movie, a kid asks to her dad out loud: When will the fun part start?
I felt like I lost several hundred brain cells because of that.

Another 3-D animation movie..they are all begining to look the same. They don't interest me at all..another hollywood ploy.
