But seriously, I love the overall music in any other Final Fantasy than that of Final Fantasy XII. I guess calling it crappy was going to far, But to this date I still hum the Midgar theme from FFVII, Liberi Fatali from FFVIII, The chocobo's theme from FFIX, etc. FFXII just haven't hit me with any of those FF music of the past.

I'm just callin' it as I see it, he's sitting there, in the middle of a burnt out hovel, all dramatic and stuff, and then he walks out and has one of those Sasukae "I own." moments. The fact the trailer is all "dark" and stuff leads me to believe he's a cutter.

Of course, it's just a trailer, I could be wrong, maybe in the actual game he walks around slapping random women on the *** and shouting the lyrics to "The Final Countdown" during boss fights

I really wish they'd get a new character designer. Akihiko Yoshida is usually good, but I bet he didn't get to show his full potential with FFXII because the suits were probably pressuring him to cater to the Japanese-teenagers-with-bad-fashion-sense-and-love-scantily-clad-androgynous -male-leads crowd. I mean, at least his designs are usually very good. All of Nomura's seem like he went to a Dir en Grey concert and drew the horrors that he saw.

and about the soldiers with "bad aim", it just looked to me like the initial shots were warning shots. notice they went around him. as he continued to walk and ignored the firing shots the soldier, along with his squadren went straight to shooting at him.

Good night, good morning, it’s three o’clock, I’m up all night doing homework and the first news from Jump Festa ticks in.

Now, this is an online translation so as always, don’t trust me on this one. Unlike the other translations I will try to make sense this time.

The crystal reaches a point where the human in charge of it is chosen.

The person who was chosen by the crystal ruins the mankind.

She was simply identified as 'The Lightning'

So there you have it, our gravity controlling lady has been chosen by the crystal and is know by codename 'Lightning'. We got a semi-confirmed name. You can now call her Lightning.

We got an old image from TGS with a monster. It could be a 0. (check end of the post)

There is more, but it makes no sense. It is the Japanese article with it own theories so it’s all questions. I try to translate it anyway.

Here's some info from the trailer shown in the closed Mega theatre.
(These are my very vague intepretations of the trailer. Parts with "...." means I forgot)

"A machine city floating in the distant skies, Kokoon."
In a peaceful world protected by the Crystal, everyone fears the existance of the .... from the outside world (the underworld) (monsters that invade maybe? that's what I'm getting from it).

However, one day .... someone let them invade.
The "Holy Prefecture" forced them (the guys who let the invaders in) to immigrate to the world below. But beyond the word "immigration" it's hard to figure out (details from hereafter are questionable). With that intention, the Crystal chose the person in charge. And, the person that the Crystal chose is the one who will destroy mankind. She was only referred to as "Lightning".

The rest of the trailer was the same as the TGS one, with one new part in it. So I only described the new part of the footage.

- Two enormous females, whose figure look like the machine-summon thing that gets engulfted in water, battle it out in the air.
- "Lightning" keeps her composure while the soldiers surround her and thrust their guns at her.
- At the end of the trailer, there was a blonde young man riding on a bike!

I wonder if the new guy with blonde hair is the main hero... And the versus one..

The trailer goes back to inside his castle, and behind where our main hero sits is a large pillar-like coffin (?) that said "You have not awaken yet... (this part's kinda ambiguous)"

- The reason "Pulse" (intruders from the outside world) awakened is to stop the chosen one from destroying all of mankind.

- The distant skies where the floating city resides is referred to as "Heavens" and the city itself is called "Cocoon" (This is the official word used in the English narration). The city is one big massive shell--to portray that the city (the Crystal) is protecting everything in it.

- The Holy place banishes all those who are a bad influence to the city into the outside world. (Pulse and other suspicious people that live in Cocoon)

- The Crystal wanted to chose someone who will destroy all of mankind, and chose Lightning.

-The Game play is similar to that of Kingdom Hearts, but it is still being worked on.

-This game will be brought to the cellphone at the end of 2007
-Besides the picture, the entire game will be in 3D
-The Hero is suppose to be protecting a crystal.

5. A large amount of residents were restrained, and moved to the pulse of this World. Although in reality it was just a Virtual Banishment.

6. The Crystal chose that person, giving them fate to lead the World. "She" was chosen and became an enemy of the Human Race, and was believed to lead the world into ruin.

7. The Name of the mysterious blond male indeed represents the weather, however has no relationship towards Lightning.



Final Fantasy Versus XIII

Originally there was no good or evil, however soon it was divided into good, and evil. It was the last Kingdom where the crystal was held. The Kingdom is very modern, it is so advanced, that civilization there itself, is isolated from the Outside World. This City is protected by the Magic Order. A group from the Outside World, began to invade the city, and there the fight for the last crystal begins, this however is the start of a new generation.

Action: The gameplay is said to have similar Qualities to that of Kingdom Hearts, however more things have been added. One of the abilities you can use is that of the Main Character can warp to wherever his weapons are thrown.

One is from the PS3 commercial and was shown in that little making of FFXIII thing which stated it was realtime.

One is from the E3 trailer which SE has said many times that the battle scene and forest scene are realtime.

-Lightning is really the main character (proving wrong those rumors that claimed that she was not);
-Several cutscenes will have a "split display" system that will allow to show what's happening in the game to different characters in different locations at the same time;
-Lightning is supposed to be a very mysterious character, rarely talking about herself;
-They still aren't sure if FFXIII will have any mini-games: It is possible that the mini-games are developed into additional, separate releases;
-FFXIII's drama scenes will have an extra sense of presence and impact, thanks to PS3's high-resolution capabilities;
-FFXIII should be just as long as your average FF;

The story details revealed at Jump Festa cleared out (no more confusing/ incomplete translations):
Game will be set on a floating island called Cocoon. A separate world, used as refuge for those who are evicted from Cocon, is called Pulse. The game's plot seems to be more political than most FF games, with a focus on how the governement of Cocoon and Pulse is treating its citizens in its domain. Initially, there is an invasion of Cocoon by beings from Pulse, which leads to a quasi-revolution. Cocoon, as its name suggests, has developed into something of a haven from the ills of FFXIII's universe, leaving those outside of Cocoon in a dangerous environment. Crystals formed Cocoon, but it seems that Cocoon's strenghts as a fortress are susceptible to infiltration and, more alarmingly for its inhabitants, the prostect that Cocoon could be dislodged from its position above the orbit of Pulse.

How? Media Factory dosent have a really good pedigree with RPGS unlike Square Enix. All I did was go into a thread where someone mention that Aira game and said that they hardly knew anything about it. I replied not with the intention of trying to start a flame war but by saying the game will be bad because all of Media Factory's past RPGs have been clinched and below average rpgs. Including the PSP game Blade Dancer. No, my intention was to basically tell people that hey don't give your hopes up. The game has no chance of being good.

No your post on the other hand had a touch of lets piss of FF fans by saying how crappy their series is. Which is basically what a lot of your posts are. Flame bait, which is what this is.

Small new tidbits

FFXIII: Starts off showing the underworld and the surroundings covered in green. Then a bird-like monster is seen flying around the green sky where a sphere-like object (looks kinda like earth) is floating. Then continues to where the Jump Festa trailer started. The part where Lightning drops down from the sky and throws a gravity bomb at the pack of soldiers was extended to show more of that battle. Near the end the Jump Festa stopped when the blond guy showed up but in this new trailer it shows him warding off the soldiers and then he throws a small blue ball into the air while water is being scattered everywhere. The ball grows bigger and then Shiva pops up. Shiva transforms into a bike and the water is turned into ice for Shiva to slide back to the summer (blond guy). Blong guy rides Shiva and attacks the soldier with the same gun the soldiers use. End.

Versus XIII: Mostly same but near the end when our protagonist sits back in his chair, a mysterious man in white robes stand behind him starts casting some spell on the pillar (coffin-like thing). Our protagonist thrusts his sword at the mystery man but the mystery man casts something to defend himself.
