Nice artwork. I hope the game doesn't suck as much as the last one.

Looks good. I liked the first game, but it was so hard to fully get into it because of all the peripherals and wires that were needed. With WiFi, this will undoubtly be easier to play with friends.

I would like to present to all of you the best piece of news I've heard about this game yet:
But the biggest change is in the absence of the Crystal Cage. In the original, the world and all areas of play were surrounded in a poisonous mist. In order to protect yourself, you had to carry a Crystal Cage device around wherever you went, with one player physically transporting it as your party advanced through the world. With the Crystal Cage missing this time, you're free to move around as you please.

THANK GOD! The crystal cage was one of the worst ideas ever implemented in a multiplayer game. All it does is make the playing field feel even more cramped, and it forces one unlucky player to be the "designated driver," so to speak. Not to mention the fact that it renders a two-player game pretty much pointless.

That is awesome news. I actually played through this game completely with 3 friends. I thought it had some fun gameplay, but it suffered from some of the most horrid glaring problems to ever grace the video game world.

So apparently the multiplayer requires you to have one to four other people in your house with a DS. No word yet on whether they'll have to have the game or not, but I'm guessing they do. There will be no Wi-fi support at all. I'm not liking this, because Wi-Fi is the only way I would have played it with other people. I don't know anyone else that owns a DS and likes Final Fantasy enough to sit around and play it.

The good thing is, the single-player is apparently supposed to be a fully-featured, separate element with a good story (or so they say).

So basically, the multiplayer aspect is useless to me. If the single-player part ends up being good, though, I might pick this up.

What do you mean, no Wi-fi support? You mean no internet multiplayer?

Local multiplayer would still be wi-fi.

No internet multiplayer. Only local.

In the multiplayer mode, up to four people can play together over a local wireless network. Sadly Wi-Fi Connection support is not planned, the developers saying they "would like friends to play and communicate together in person, seeing the smiles on each others' faces."
