If you're like me, you're a big FFXII fan. While walking through Best Buy today I noticed a stack of DVD cases that say "Final Fantasy XII Art Collection" on them. I swooped one up for $14.99 thinking it was a disc full of wallpapers and otherwise high quality artwork from FFXII.

Well to my dismay when I opened it at home, it has no disc in it, and I dont think it was ever supposed to. It's an instruction book with maybe 15-20 pages of tiny pictures of art... Oh and it's the same artwork that comes in the limited edition strategy guide, which actually has a huge artbook with nice stuff in it.

I'm going to try to return this thing tomorrow, this is pathetic.

Wow, that really sucks. I wonder if they made it look like DVD cases on purpose. If it was me, I probably would have done the same thing. Try and take it back. Although they might enforce the "no returning if package is opended." They seem to follow through with that when it comes to games and DVD's.

Which fortunately this is neither :P

I was able to return the Xbox 360 memory card that doesnt let you move save games on it without problem. It was in one of those cases that takes 3 jaws of life and 2 first aid kits to open, so it was ripped up all to heck when I returned it.

20 pages of art for 15 bucks?... Man, you got gypped bad... I think what was in the strategy guide is all we'll get... They pretty much use the same images over and over again...

Number one, I hate packages like that. And when you go back, they give you crap like that. Although Target is pretty cool when it comes to retuning things...

I'm sure once you tell them the problem, they'll go ahead and let you return it. If you could do it at the game counter, the guy is sure to understand too.

I got mine for free when I bought the game. Just like Gibb, I thought it was suppose to have a disc in it so I was confused and outraged at the same time. But when I looked at my receipt, I found out that it came with the game. But still, its not something you should buy for $14.99 if you don't plan to purchase the game itself from Best Buy. The booklet is totally not worth the price. Better spent on FFXII artbook (if there is one).

Best Buy took the stupid thing back and gave me my $16. It took forever because they thought I stole the disc. I told them that I'm returning it because there is no disc, and I dont think it was ever supposed to have one. All the returns people thought it should have had a disc, tho most of them were idiots. A few of them thought it was Final Fantasy XII, the actual game lol.

Wow, at least you got your money back. Thinking you stole the disc, Pshaw.

That was pretty funny. And yeah, Best Buy has been known to carry CDs without the actual CD inside. And they will give you hell just for trying to return it. Happened to my friend when he got the special edition of Hail To the Thief(Radiohead).

What the heck?... Why even sell them?... What's the purpose?...

Well, they don't know exactly if they're inside the case. Kinda hard to tell. But, yeah, who knows? One of life's mysteries?

Their return policy clearly states that you return the opened item with complete packaging. I returned a pair of crappy Maxell headphones with volume control that were opened and I had my receipt, they gave me my refund no questions asked.

Wow, that sucks.
My cousin and I explained to dude in Target that I want to exchange Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas PC to GTA: San Andreas PS2. Finally they exchanged it.
By the way, GTA: San Andreas PC is a import. What a nub.

Weren't those artbooks supposed to be Best Buy's preorder bonus before FFXII was released?

I decided that Best Buy sucks *** when I had $1200 cash on me and I was ready to buy a laptop and it took the bastards over an HOUR to find someone to help me. I left and went to another Best Buy store and it took them 30 MINUTES to help me. I wrote a nasty letter to Best Buy corporate, but all I got was their crappy canned apology letter.

You still ended up buying the laptop from Best Buy after all that? Man, they must have been laughing all the way to the bank when they read your letter.

Sounds completely opposite from my Best Buy, the employees are usually always helpful; they even told me when their next shipment of Wiis were getting in (therefore I now have one). We also bought a laptop from there for my parents, and we found help in no time. Pretty nice laptop too.

The fact that you were carrying this cash on you and you didn't get mugged is the more surprising part.

Anyway, you still ended up buying something from Best Buy. The loser is you in this battle. And you wrote a letter because someone didn't help you? Man, I suck it up and move on. As long as I get my merchandise, I'll be alright.

Best Buy workers tend to wanna be douchebags like Gamestop employees. It's a shame they have to lose to me when it comes to verbal rape.

Too bad you never met me sensei, I used to be a faceless drone for GS before becoming an investor and having the power to fire anyone at will is awesome.
