As I understand, at least some of you can pull out the keys and move them around at will. I want to figure out how to do it, but as far as I can tell, my current technique is more likely to break the key than to pull it out. Am I doing it wrong, or do I just have the wrong kind of keyboard?
I just want to clean the gunk under the keys.

I just pop 'em up and move them around, you should try it. Put some FORCE INTO IT.
BTW I made a thread about keyboards in the video ame forum are you stalking me

that doesn't work with all keyboards (considering no one repairs keyboards, like typewriters, anymore).
anyways, try using a penny or a quarter... I can atleasy get the quarter under the key, but it won't pop (I think it's because I'm lifting from one side though.)

I just use a bit of Woolite on the Gentle cycle. Cleans the gunk right out. Works great for laptop keyboards, too.

I've always used a small flathead screwdriver. Pop them right out and clean it up with some compressed air and an alcohol swap.

I just use canned air and spray it between the keys. I also try not to eat or drink near the keyboard so i dont get anything spilled into it.
