Ugh...don't remind me. I hated the color scheme. The white text on the black background really hurt my eyes. The only cool thing about it was that it all matched with the AN logo.

I know I wasn't here for that since I registered in Summer 2002. When did that layout change to the old vB2 layout we had before this one? I personally liked that layout we had before. It would be nice if AN brought it again as a layout option.

Ha, I'm on the same boat as you. But I agree with DS, those colors probably would've hurt my eyes, especially around night time.

I think I joined when they were removing boards such as the SD&D sections, but I was never involved in them.

It's really interesting to see how many members on the old layout I remember, like Billgoku, EQaddict, Flusterd Cookie and several others, as well all the forums that got lost with time. It's also interesting to do the way back machine to a certian date and see a little guy known as "HimuraProns" posting.

I've heard several people sugguest making a "Black and green" skin for the current AN forums, but that'd be kind of gay and a sad attempt to relive the past like Sonic the Hedgehog for the Xbox 360.

If the forum opened in 2000 how is it that there is no one who joined then?
That would be because apparently there was a crash, and everyone had to create new accounts. All the old threads were lost, but that's not important since inactive threads get pruned after a year anyway... although now I say that, it seems not to be happening anymore.

So yeah, the oldest accounts around now are from 2001. I didn't join until way, way after that, as you can see, but I keep my ears open and pick up on the history of the place. I like to think of myself as a new old member. ^_^

Except for Kevin ^ who Joined in 1970!His Admin-Fu is powerful. You can do all sorts of things when you're the admin. Changing your join date isn't even the half of it. You can change pretty much anything you want to. It's not exactly a fun job, but it can be rewarding.

That's also why the beginning of July has so many registers... I think I re-registered on, like, the 5th day the forum was back up, and I'm still on the 5th or 6th page if you view by register date...

Those certainly were the days, but one thing I can't help but notice is the absence of the SD&D forum.

It was by far my favorite forum and I'm still disappointed that the staff took it down.

It's been gone for a long time. Since just after I joined, in fact. It won't be coming back. The mods have said that it was far too much trouble to keep it peaceful. I remember how much of a flamefest it was for the month or two after I joined that it was around, and I don't see any reason to disagree with them.

The only thing about SD&D being removed that I do regret is that a lot of cool members slowly drifted away once it was gone.
