Need Job help on FF III.

My main character (first guy you get) is a lvl 30 Red Mage.

Second guy you get is a lvl 31 Black Mage.

Third guy (the girl) is a lvl 28 White Mage.

And fourth guy is a lvl 27 Warrior.

Now i'd been told that i'd need a Scholar to beat Hein (BS) but I never knew I had unlocked Scholar, so now that I do know. I'm thinking of swapping my Red Mage to a Scholar, and my Warrior to a Knight.

I have loads of gear for my Scholar, but, I don't know whether I should just keep my team the way it is. Afterall i've leveled them up quite high, so i'd be really weak if I start over. So my question is, do you think it's a good idea to swap there jobs?

Oh, I do have 2 other tiny questions too. Is there anyway to change the characters names? Because I wasn't used to the new name system where it keeps the old name and then just adds the characters you're typing to the end before it starts over. So i've got "nya" instead of "Anya".

And what's the deal with that shadow in the water next to all the blind guys? (if it's a major plot quest, please don't tell me)

Demon do you need to make a thread for every idea you have. We already have a Final Fantasy III thread. Ask it there.

I truly don't think it is necessary for you to use a Scholar but it will greatly help to find his weakness with Study; Dispel should help greatly also. Other then that, your BLM or your melee should be able to take care of him pretty easily. I don't know what your main character levels (not job level) are but if you are level 20+, you should be fine.

My characters were level 22 when I fought Hein and he was pysically hitting pretty hard. Maybe because I was raising my new unlocked jobs (Knight, Scholar, Geomancer, and Ranger) and was too lazy to switch to White Mage to use Mini, so I used my Scholar. Then I realized Scholar only had 1 MP for a level-2 spell... So now, I could not turn back to my original form. Thanks to my stupidity, I was forced to fight Hein in my Mini form. Hein was hitting my characters for 300~400 a hit to my mini-characters.

To make this story short, I was still able to beat him with my Geomancer since magic is not affected by mini form. If I can beat Hein with my mini characters, you should not have a hard time beating him...

PS - I don't think you can change your characters name and Im not sure what the shadow is all about.
