Planned on seeing it tonight but I had to get my wisdom teeth removed earlier this morning. Been feeling pretty miserable all day, haven't seen that much blood EVER.
Hopefully I'll feel up to it by Sunday.
126 reviews at RT, only 5 of them negative.
A lot seem to be comparing it to what Batman Begins did to the Batman franchise (serious take, fresh start).

I'm really excited about it! I'll try and see it over thanksgiving break. I am actually quite curious as to what the soundtrack is like. Sometimes it can make or break a movie.

seen it twice (midnight and earlier today)! very good, far exceeded expectations. didn't like the theme song (personal taste) and the intro only cuz no more silhouette ladies?!
on a side note, i didn't care a lot for Batman Begins

My dad is a sucker for James Bond flicks though he had said last few movies sucked hard (He's a hard core Roger Moore fan). Hopefully it won't disappoint when we go see it this weekend.

All I have to say after seeing it...Bond is back and (hopefully) here to stay.
It really gives a new twist to Bond and actually does more for his character than any 007 film has ever done. At first I wasn't really into Daniel Craig since he didn't seem to have that "sauve" James Bond look to him. However, now that I have seen the film, he was a perfect match to portray this younger and more brash James Bond.
Overall, I would have to say it is one of the best Bond films I have ever had the pleasure of viewing and will definitely be going to see it again.

Non-Cold War Bond just isn't all that appealing to me.

I intend to see it sometime this upcoming week. I'm interested to see the direction they've taken things. I'm iffy on some of the changes I've heard about, like that they've altered or removed the Bond theme song and the gunbarrel opening.
While I've enjoyed the Pierce Brosnan films, I'm all for a more 'realistic' (i.e. no invisible cars and the like) Bond film.

I loved it. I really didn't want the movie to end. Daniel Craig is really good, not because he's the suave kind of Bond like Pierce Brosnan, but he really portrayed Bond really well in a darker type of setting. Not only that, but during the comedic parts, he pulled it off well.
I'm hoping I can get time to see it again.

Finally got to see this today on my day off.
I'm impressed.
This broke the norm of all the other Bond's Ive seen. I loved the physical action, didn't rely a whole lot on gadgets. Before I saw it I wasn't feeling Craig at all but he sold me, this guy is Bond and hopefully for a while. He really had that brash rough around the edges feel to him, I could see that cold charisma that Connery brought to the role too. Craig doesn't bring dashing to the role he brings rugged, I like that feel.
Anyway, go see this flick if you haven't already. Its a great viewing for the holidays ^_^

I too loved the physical action. The bathroom scene in the beginning is a great example of this. Rather than the old effortless stage punch that probably wouldn't knockout my grandmother, they really went for intense.

The whole movie felt more intense than a regular Bond movie.
The entire poisoning scene was probably the highlight of intensity for the movie, IMO

I'm sure that this is a remake of the 1967 classic movie (Casino Royle) right?

No. The two movies are based on the same novel but the 2006 movie is not a remake but more so a different take on the same source material.
The 67 movie was more so a spoof, this is an actual bond movie.

Great movie. I was a little surprised they diddn't really use any gadgets, but its clear they want a much more serious & dark James Bond. Very different kind of James Bond but its still good.

I must say I was hesitant about Craig being Bond, but he proved me wrong. He didn't do much talking, but I agreee with all who said he is a darker, more rugged Bond. No Q (or R) or gadgets, which I was happy about. And that tourture scene. Ouch. Overall, a good start for Craig and I look forward to more with him in it.
As a side note, I love M.

It was okay. I really liked the new guy playing the inexperienced 007. He really bombed hard on some of those scenes. One of the things I didn't like, however, was that cheesy crap at the end of the movie. Thankfully it ended the way it did.
But as for action films. I thought Deja Vu was much, much more entertaining.

that torture scene... OUCH!!
its a lot more serious and dark, but i guess thats a good thing. When pierce brosnan (however you spell it) blew **** up, he had that funny grin on his face, and was like, ya, thats cool. now its just all seriousness. but yeah, exceeded my expectations.. but i wanted some old-school gadgets.. that would have been cool

It was good. I liked the action. The fight scenes were well done, and the plot was abit more involved than I'd expected. Dench was a good M, as always. I loved seeing the things like him becoming 007, the discovery of the classic drink, though I don't think he delivered the classic line "shaken, not stirred" as all true bond movies require. Ending it with the classic line was excellent.
Despite all of this, I have a very large problem. There was no Q. That's right, the heart and soul of James Bond gadgetry was nowhere to be seen. There's getting rid of excessive gadgetry, but getting rid of Q? C'mon.

To me, the character Q died when Desmond Llewelyn passed away.

Does he have his trademark pp7 back, or do they still have him use the P99?

I din't check. I don't think they name the gun, and I'm nut enough of a gun buff to notice (it wasn't used too much, more handfighting)

that torture scene... OUCH!!That scene rocked, it was uncomfortable and hilarious at the same time. Another good example of how gritty the action was.
No fancy laser to cut em in half just tied naked to a cut out chair and having your balls knocked. Craig did a good job with that scene, you could really feel his pain as he's trying to laugh it off ^_^
Can't believe Happy Feet actually out did this in the box office though, I don't know I'm not a real animated movie buff.
