Now...I was bored..so I made this topic...and considering that everyone has seen Alien and Predator...movies..Not the AlienvsPredator one.
So what was your favourite..in the Alien series? or, In the Predator series?
Personally I liked Alien3..I think it was my favourite with the exception of the first one..

Alien was the best. Everything after was just pale in comparison. The first one built great atmosphere and suspense, while the second was just an action-sci fi film. The third one seemed to try and get back to the suspense of the first film, but it didn't really draw me in. I don't recall a lout about the fourth one.
Predator 1 was the same way, really. Great suspense and tension. I don't remember a lot about the second one, though, since I only saw it once.

That becuase Arnold makes good Si-fi movies, and he wasn't in the second Preditor.

Every installment of every series was great.

Predator. It's refreshing to see a suspenseful movie that doesn't rely on a pansy of a protagonist to make the villain seem more sinister than he is, like practically everything else out there. You know that a monster is badass when Arnold Schwarzenegger is the target.
And as for Predator 2? Danny Glover tackled the Predator off of a building. Enough said.
The Aliens series is ridiculous. I despise that first movie. Remember the "scary" scene where the dude was stuck in the tunnel, and the alien popped out? What the hell was that? It looked like it was saying "SURPRISE!", arms outstretched to hug him. And the ending? The alien didn't move. It lay on it's back, looking like a Sesame Street puppet wanting a tummy rub, while Weaver was spazzing out. At least it entailed laughter.

The alien series was good when they showed "Giger" Alien...Unfortunatly they twisted it in to a bug like creature..who behaves like a ant.
Personaly the alien movie was scary..not because of the quick shadow popping..but because we dont actualy know what it was. It looked like metal and flesh melded together...
The Alien itself symbolizes...what we find repulsive yet atractive to us...
Interspecies rape...the most horrible experience to a human..and the Alien represents that..of course this is the "Giger" Alien Im talking about.

To each their own. How people can be frightened by that is beyond me.
But..."interspecies rape" is what the alien represents? They edited out the scene where the tail is crawling up the woman's leg to dispell any conceived notion of that.

He was talking about face-huggers, not the "giger Alien".

Alien was a horror movie, Predator was more of an action flick. Of the two series, I liked the Alien series better, but I can't say I've ever found the need to compare them.

Right, but you said that you were talking about the "'Giger' Alien", which caused unclarity about this theme that you were trying to convey.

Yup..Giger Alien is different because of its shape...."Aliens" are diferent from the Giger alien in the shape and smoothness of the cranium
And we are not comparing the movies...we are talking about the movies diferently

Same. I like both for their respective merits. If I had to choose, I'd probably choose Aliens, though. I've always liked the concept. *shrug*

^ hahha!! "points in sky" this will be even lamer!!! probably the lamest of all movies ever created to be the lamest..it will be the new lamest movie of them all, in fact it will bring a new meaning to "lame".

I find that amusing since you don't know anything about the movie other than the basic stuff (Aliens v Predators, etc). While the last AVP was pretty....:gank:, the new one should hopefully clear up some stuff, since I remember reading an interview about it which stated that the production crew hated the original's concept with all the humans. I'm just praying that isn't BS or something and that they actually will bring in a good AVP film (preferably without the rape that Dark Horse did to Predators, making them damned samurai).

Combined with the fact that there hasn't ever been a decent crossover movie, beginning with the cop-out that was Godzilla vs. King Kong back in the 60s, I think it's safe to assume the worst from any entry in a versus franchise, and especially one started by Paul Anderson.

I liked both Predators and Aliens II. Both series are decent though.

The Predator was incredible. It scared me to death when I was a child, seeing as how I was roughly around the age of 7 when I first saw it. My father always had the volume up very high and so my heart literally stopped when anything scary happened.
The Predator, in my opinion, to this day is still one of the most scariest characters ever in a film.
The Alien films never did much for me, for some reason. I've never actually sat through the entire duration of one of the films. Probably because the Alien was never very appealing to me.

Aliens was my favorite in the series. Alien was also pretty good, but Aliens 3 and 4 sucked majorly. They are both a disgrace when compared to the first two.

^_^; I kinda liked alien3...I liked the both versions of Alien3 actualy. the one with the Ox and the Dog...But I do have to agree, Alien3 had a very profound slap in all fans when they showed it...
A person thought everything was alright, and then, we are put in a such depressive mood
With Newt dead and..well all of them
That was really hard to cope with, the lack of hope and all made some fans pissed with..."Its not fair sort of thing" feeling...
And the end pissed alot of them...but...personaly I liked the ending...it was well, the only resort left..the ultimate sacrifice. Made me cry when I saw the furnace part... Plus the moral was very crude... but, real life is like that, the bad guys always get away with it...pissed, but they got away with it.

I wish they would make a third Predator movie...
Only if Arnold is in it. The debacle that was Predator 2 need not be mentioned and should not have happened.
Alien: It was okay. I didn't find it great, but it at least set the stage for more to come.
Aliens: Easily my favorite. The Queen was frickin' awesome.
Alien 3: See my description of Predator 2.
Alien Ressurection: Good movie, although the cross-breed that the Queen gave birth to was odd. Actually, the whole concept of the Queen giving birth was annoying. What better way to destroy the image of one of (if not the) greatest movie monster ever? :hmph:
Predator: Fantastic movie, although the ending was a bit off. Considering the blast radius of the Predator's bomb there is no way Arnold could have run far enough to escape.
Predator 2: I'm done beating this dead horse.
Alien vs. Predator: Loved it. The Queen was even better in this than she was in Aliens. It also helped to prove that the aliens (or xenomorphs, to use the proper term) are the ultimate killing machines, since even with their advanced weaponry the Predators were no match for them.
Haro!

I liked Predator 2 more than the first.
Alien, after the first they all looked the same to me.

The second Alien movie was best of the franchise. I hope that the second Alien vs Predator movie will be much better than the first.

Aliens: "Get away from her you *****!" I love that line.
I liked Predator one better then two. No favorite line.
AvP. Eh. Who won was no surprise, but that last scene was. Maybe in AvP 2 will have the predators on the ship hunting the alien. The whole thing will have no dialog. LOL lame.

What I liked about the end of the first movie was... We'll finally see a PredAlien like in the AvP FPS games. :)

I'd say probably the original predator. Alien was good too but I liked the action of Aliens much more. But the action in the original predator even more so then all of them. Lots of great characters and the jungle setting was perfect to introduce the predator in. Though, subsequent movies could have equally cool places to fight in.

Rumors I've read talk about a southern texas town in summer. Ya know, they like hot places. I've also heard of possible military involvement which would lead me to think something about a military base.
