My mouse has stopped moving. I wasn't doing anything, then when i tried to use the computer, the mouse just stopped responding at all. I'm using the keyboard right now.

I tried the mouse settings, but everything looks normal, and it tells me that my device is working fine, though it isn't. I tried restarting several times, unplugging the mouse (it's not USB) but it still won't respond. What do I do?

you should:

-restart the computer, or
-try a different mouse, or
-plug the mouse into a different serial port.

Tell us what happens.

If the problems keep on, I would just buy a new mouse. They're pretty cheap nowaday matter on what kind you specificly want, and if it's to a desktop or a laptop computer. Besides restarting, and making sure the device is working, I'm not sure.

I already restarted the computer a few times. The mouse is not a USB one, so theres only one place to plug it into. It was fine and then suddenly just stopped moving. I didn't open any program or anything, so nothing triggered this. In fact I didn't have anything open other than MSPaint.
I can't see any explanation for this other than my mouse just decided to stop working for no reason. I guess i'll have to buy a new one.

well... if it is an ancient mouse.. it would eventually stop. Did you try cleaning it? removing the ball and cleaning the rollers inside. ... That's probably not it, but I want to throw it out there.

I think you should get a new mouse.

Our oldest computer has the problem that the mouse only works sometimes. If it works when Windoze boots, it works. You restart, it's a gamble. This happens with all the mice we tried. We reinstalled Windows several times. In other words, there's no way it can happen, but it does.

Er... Do you have a USB adapter?

anyways what the point of no cords?

The fact that there are no cords to get in your way.

I used to have wireless... then one day I was playing a Video game on my PC and wanted too run away from a monster that was killing me... In order to run, you have to click on an area on the screen...

The battery in my mouse died... and so did my character :crybaby:

Just my freaking luck. I lost alot of gold and armor too.

Happens to me on my Dell a lot. Assuming everything else is all good, it may be a virus! :D

I used to have a wireless mouse. I hated it. Ran out of juice all the time, and when I put it in the charger, refused to charge.
