is this true if it is i'm dissapointed.
I'm thinking that it is and they might of ran out of funding to make more eps because it wasn't as popular?

So, um, that's it? What a gip. I sit through 167 episodes (not including reruns) and the series ends, but yet the story doesn't end. No resolution, no big finale. No nothing. All the bad guys are still alive, and everything is still as it was. The last episode's ending could have been the ending of any given episode where everyone fights Naraku but he gets away again.
Truly, truly disappointing end to an otherwise entertaining anime. I guess I'll have to start reading the manga now.

I finished watching it on AS a while ago and even though I knew what the last episode was about I have to say wow, that was truly disappointing.

Well they caught up to the manga, so rather than making more pointless fillers they felt it was better to just end it there. I agree also that it was a sucky place to end it because so many scenes from the manga were cut and the story was not ended, but oh well. Just read the manga from where the anime finished, I'm sure it won't disappoint just as the anime did.

Yes, 167 is the last episode of the anime, and as of right now, there seems to be no indication of further production of the anime in the future. (In other words, no more, folks. That's it.) The only explanation I have managed to come up with so far is that Studio Sunrise decided the anime wasn't worth the time or money spent to produce it, and so they ended the anime and turned their attention to other, more worthwhile projects. It might not be the true reason, but it's the only thing I have managed to come up with.

167 is indeed the last one. I saw it last night for the first time. It had a very disappointing and an open ending. Hopefully, they will bring Inuyasha back some day. I do have to say that the ending is not what I thought it was gonna be like.
