Ok I am trying to find a better way to keep track of my anime by finding a program to put on my computer where I put a inventory of my anime on it. reasons I dont mind letting my friends borrow my anime but I am tired of keeping track of if, also I am in the military so I do a lot of moveing and it would also help when moveing to. I know this is a odd request but if anybody has any ideas please let me know. tks

Any MS-Office application? You could make a table in Word, you could make a spreadsheet in Excel, you could make a quick DB in Access. Or you could do all of these things for free with the Openoffice.org suite equivalents.
Notepad would be sufficient, quite honestly.

tks I will try that I just wanted to know if there was a specific program for keeping a inventory for example Tool Automated System (TAS) is the program that the military uses to keep track of Tools and you can keep track of the who, what, when, and where of any tool. I thought about trying this but it is a little to indepth I am looking for something a little simpler.

If they're actually on dvd's you can get some little thingy that scans the barcodes and you can somehow mod it to create a database of all of your stuff... at least, that's how I understand it. My boyfriend knows more about it... he's the one who told me. If you really want to know, I can ask him for the details or something.

It doesn't take too much effort to make a database in Access. If you already own Access, you're better off customizing it to your needs, rather than blowing a bunch of money on an inventory tracking program for non-business needs.
For example, I made a database for my video games, and just had a "condition" field where I put whether the game was in, borrowed, lost, damaged, etc. That would probably be more fortuitous than trying to find a too-expensive consumer variation of business software.

Unless you have a few thousand anime titles, I don't think you need yo use Microsof Access. Juts creat a table to two columns in Word or Excel and one will be you anime title and the secone will be who is it with. Other columns like return date, borrowed date could be added as well.

Excel would be a much simpler solution, I agree.
Making a database in access "for fun" is a great way to learn the software. I suppose I'm trying too hard to expand the thread starter's skill repertoire
