The guy looks like the agent that brings Shinji to the train station in Episode 4. The woman seems reminiscent of the blond woman from one of the other games (Shinji Ikari Raising?), but I don't think they're the same person.
From Babelfishing the page, all I can tell is that the agent-guy is the protaganist, it's an adventure game, and Eva-04 is involved (might we finally get some semi-official data on that thing?) Oh, and you get a "limited-edition crystal strap" for reserving the game :P

Who is THAT? It's a Ritsuko/Yui hybrid. I's Ritsuko's spot on the portrait, and her profile. Except... Ritsuko's in the game already.

Dammit, why won't they do an action EVA game? It'd be like Zone of Enders mixed with Virtual-On. Throw in online play for XBox360 & PS3... its a wrap. You don't even need to like anime to see that'd be a fun @ss game.

Well, the action of Eva is a tad different than other mech shows, as the show itself has very little emphasis on action, all though there are fight scenes, they aren't particularly long.
But seeing as Gainax doesn't care HOW they ruin their flagship project, it's about time we see a 3rd person action mech Evangelion. See you on xbox live!
Sadly, the closest we'll get to that is the N64 EVA game.

ANOTHER new eva game
And another and another untill they have all of everyones money... there will be some tie in figures, and a special new box to put the dvds in and sooner or later a Shinji (non)action figure with ten depressing phrases!
Why was there a N64 Eva game? Seeing as how sega was one of the shows sponsers and all.

All Gainax does is sell the license, Sega didn't have an exclusive license. Some 3rd party buys the license and makes a game.

Personally, I spend every waking moment trying to forget the N64 game. ^_^
Don't worry, you'll get yer action game. Just wait for the inevitable: "put-in-minimum-effort-then-shill-to-people-who-whatched-the-movie" tie-in adaption to follow LAEM. I can guarentee that it will be a mediocre action romp (just like virtually every movie game ever made...). <_< That's how compaines make their money see...gits.
To be honest, I doubt Eva is cut out for an action title in even the best of circumstances. Think about it: all of the fights that took place in Evangelion were against an enemy who's power was equal to or greater than that of the Evas and were almost always resolved via unconventional means.
Great in an anime, but in a game that boils down to a series of boss encounters or mini-games, and virtually nothing else. So basically a game where all the bits which whould normally add variety are all that you get.(That being more or less what the N64 version did, except zero-interactivity was thrown in for good mesure. ;)).
The only game I know of that did "Bosses and not much else" well was Shadow of the Coloussus. But that game pulled it off by creating a genuine sense of adventure and providing a gorgeously vast and mysterious environment. But of course it wasn't an action game, in which this strategy by the very nature of action games cannot be achieved.
On top of that, most of the fights in Eva were set in enclosed spaces: decreasing potential for versitility, and any kind of faithfulness to the TV series would make fights very linear as well as few and far between.
My conclusion: no. Eva is not ripe for the action genre. However if you are aware of this and simply wan't to control the Evas in third person...well, there's the movie tie-in to look forward too.
Oh geez...sorry about the rant...
thinks: wonder what the Wii could do with Eva?

Well, at least the artwork is better than Shinji Raising Project...then again, so's the splatter against a tree from freshly-flung monkey doo-doo.

Completely off-topic, but when I first read the last line, I saw "That's how companies make their money...GITS."

If they did something like the third-person Gundam games and basically
plopped down any two opponents and let them battle it out with whatever weapons they have, then NGE might actually be an 'interesting' game. Shogouki + Sword vs. Sangouki + MP5, anyone?

I suppose the controller could actually simulate the handles...does that mean the 'frustrated pulling when power goes out', too?
