Does anyone know or does anyone want to post how they think the Inuyasha series is going to end? I wish that it wasn't coming to an end but I guess all good things eventually do end. :(

Umm...It ended already...

Kagome and InuYasha walk toward the screen, wave "goodbye" to the audience, then run off into the distance.

...or maybe that was another Takahashi series...

I asked because Cartoon Network hasn't showed the final episode of Inuyasha yet. I wanted to see if anyone knew or not.

Kagome, Inuyasha, and the rest of the gang soar off into the sunet exclaiming how they're going to find Naraku and destroy him. The anime doesn't have a conclusive ending; it's very open-ended, which frustrates a lot of people. (Since I follow the manga, which is still ongoing, the end of the anime doesn't concern me.)

Are you serious??? You mean to tell me that they ended the anime with Naraku still alive? That is just wrong. why would they do that? Also, I wonder why they aren't going to finish is like the manga?

Why would they do that? Perhaps because they would rather leave the anime with an open-ended ending, which gives them the option of coming back and finishing it later, than deviate from the manga and create their own ending.

My guess is that the animators at Studio Sunrise decided that continuing with the production of the anime wasn't worth the time, the money, etc., so they decided to end it and move on to other, more worthwhile projects that were more profitable for the studio (since, after all, the business is all about making money).

It's possible that, in Japan, the anime wasn't nearly as popular as it was expected to be, relative to the popularity of the manga. (Manga in general is more popular in Japan than anime is, hence the term "relative.") I know that the anime is extremely popular in the U.S, but Japan has the greater market. There was also the problem of the anime catching up to the manga too quickly and too frequently, which meant that time and money were wasted producing filler episodes.

That makes sense. I hope that someday that they will decide to continue making Inuyasha episodes. Inuyasha is so cool! One of the best animes! Is the Inu Manga really good?

Yea the manga is better than the anime because it doesn't stray away from the plot like the anime can sometimes do with all those fillers. There's very little filler in the manga, but when there is, the filler usually either strengthens character relationships, or add a little comedy to an otherwise serious manga.

And just to add, Adult Swim has been giving new Inu Yasha episodes since Wed. The next new episode is coming on Mon, which is episode 160. There are only a few more episodes until the end so if you want to see how the anime ends, then I suggest watching these last batch of episodes.

Well, I will always like the Inuyasha anime. I hope to get into the manga soon. Can anyone tell me alittle bit about one of the manga books? Like what is it about and stuff?

You've seen the anime; you already know what the story is about. The anime is based off the manga, so the basic premise is the same. I don't know how to describe the manga to you.

Instead of asking us what the manga is like, why don't you just drop by your local Barnes & Noble or Borders and flip through a volume yourself?

really? What is the manga doing? Explaining every little thing? I truly hope someday they will make more Inu episodes. The final episode is going to air on CN sometime soon. I can't look through a volume of it because there isn't any Border's or any bookstores around my area that sells them. :(

No, it has nothing to do with explanation of details or anything like that. "The series drags on" is a common complaint about InuYasha in general, anime and manga. It's just that the story is long - it's currently 477 chapters (that's about 47 and a half volumes), and it's been going on for 10 years. There are times when the pacing is slow, and that's when it seems to drag on.

IMHO, the manga only truly seems to drag on if you're only reading one chapter a week (as those of us who are following the manga's serialization in Japan's weekly Shonen Sunday magazine are doing).

No offense, but some of the questions you're asking are easiest answered if you just buy a volume of the manga and look at it yourself. Or you can look at that thread I linked you to.

OK. Thanks! How many chapters or manga is out there already? Also, does anyone think that they should have completed the anime with no loose ends and also just replaced some of the dragging on stuff with stuff they left out?

476 is the last number I read... I think.

I don't think they should have added an artificial ending to the anime, though. It would have been very sucky if they had...

Actually, chapter 477 came out last Wednesday.

I agree with Kagura Hakubi. I don't think Sunrise could have given the anime an artificial, conclusive ending. Given how strongly the manga was (and is) still going, it would have seemed out of place, and it would have sucked.

You could be right. I just wonder if Inuyasha will ever be with Kagome (as a couple) And if Miroku and Sango will ever be together. I guess that CN is gonna show the last episode of Inu after a while. I think they are on 15? now. I dont now the exact one. I could be wrong. Tonights episode that is airing looked like it is gonna be a playback/new one. That is alot of chapters of manga! WOW!

I lived in japan for a few years in 03 and 04. Believe it or not, Inuyasha was VERY popular so thats definetly NOT the reason why it ended. It came on every Tuesday night at 8:00 on Nippon Tv which is prime time. There was even a period where the show was so popular, they increased production twicefold and were showing 2 new episodes a night! The fact that they left the ending open instead of providing ANY sense of closure shows that they wanted to come back in the future

Based off of recent events, survey says, It's inevitable.

And if Miroku and Sango will ever be together.
Kiddo, Miroku and Sango are already together - it's called "being engaged." (According to the broadcast schedule, that episode should have been aired by now. Adult Swim is approaching the last handful of episodes.)

I hope you mean there are about 15 episodes left, not that they're currently on episode 15. According to the broadcast schedule, tonight is episode 162, which means that, after that, there will only be five more episodes to go, and then the series is over. The last episode will be aired on October 26.

They're still showing Inuyasha? Man... I've missed the last like... five episodes. I lost track of when they were showing it. (They stopped showing commercials of it.)

They have been showing new episodes of Inuyasha for the last some many days or maybe for around a week or so. Don't worry. After they show the last episode (167), They are going to start over showing from the episode where Kagome brings back food from the feudal era and it somehow becomes demons and Inuyasha has to secretly help her get rid of them. I thought it was episode 13 something. But, after they air that one through 167, they are going to be showing Inuyasha from the very beginning episode 1. By the way, I meant they are on episode 1hundered and fifty something I thought.

My guess is that once InuYasha ends, Adult Swim will show reruns for awhile - however long "awhile" ends up being - but then eventually replace InuYasha with another series (probably another long-running serial). In other words, at some point, fans are going to have to buy the DVDs, or the manga, in order to get their IY fix.

According to the schedule (http://www.adultswim.com/shows/inuyasha/) on Adult Swim, it appears that, after the broadcast of the last episode, Adult Swim is going to show reruns, starting with episode 136 and going until the last episode. But that schedule only goes up to November 3, so there's nothing about what happens after they finish airing those 31 episodes. Where did you find out about their airing the series from episode 1 again?

I viewed the adult swim's site and then I clicked on TV schedule. I followed down to where Inuyasha ends the 2nd time around and after that, it shows Inuyasha episode 1. If you have trouble finding or if anyone has trouble finding or seeing that, post here and the next time I am here which will probably be tommorrow night, i'll post the site and everything here.

Ah, I found it. I was looking at the TV schedule on the InuYasha page. You're right, it appears that Adult Swim is going to start airing the series from episode 1 after the last episode's second airing. Interesting. Well, InuYasha is incredibly popular, so they're probably going to keep showing reruns until ratings for the series plummet or something.

I intend on seeing every single episode of Inuyasha this time around. There is still some episodes that I think that I missed. Inuyasha still seems like it is pretty popular. I hope that they do keep it on for a while yet. At least until I get to see all the episodes from 1 to 167. :) I am glad that you were able to find that.

I've been watching Inuyasha since it started and the two episodes that aired tonight were Kagomes words and Kikyos kiss and Sango the demon exterminator. But I have directv so it could be different or such.
