Who's going to Yaoi con?

I've decided to go at the last minute!

I think it'd be fun to go sometime... but not this year. I've already been to Anime Central and Anime Weekend Atlanta.

Anyone know what the crowd at Yaoi Con is like? Is it a pretty big mix of people or is it mostly the stereotypical squealing fangirl types? Just curious, I've never been before.

I'll be there. .^^

Ehh... Stereotypical on the outside with people making out in the lobby and whatnot. Just stay away from them and you'll have a pleasant experience. The bishounen auction is not to be missed, hehe.

I've never been. What do you recommend? Aside from the Bishie auction (which I have unsuccessfully petitioned my husband to volunteer for. Dagnabbit.)

Last year was my first year. (Unfortunately, I couldn't attend in 2004 when my favorite mangaka, Yamane Ayano sensei, was guest because my 18th birthday was the day AFTER the con ended. *cries*) I really only attended the bishounen auction (hilarious!), the mangaka guest panels, the seiyuu panel, and the opening and closing ceremonies. The rest of the time was spent wandering around the con and catching up with friends. Just... yeah, stay away from the scary fangirls. And line up early if you want to get into the opening or closing ceremonies and have decent seats.

Haha, if your husband is attending with you, I think he'll find the bishounen auction very.... interesting. :P

I would LOVE to be able to go. Where is it held?

I won't be able to go this year, but I will try to go next year if things work out.

Hehehe, I looked up where it's being held, and go figure it's San Francisco. -_-; All the information is on the Yaoicon website.

I wish I could go... but, I surely can't. Maybe... one year, if I can find some people that wanna go with me, I'll take a road trip there~ ^_^ I can see it now: Getting lost with my overly awful directional sense and equally unspeakable abilities at remembering street names.

Thanks for the help, Carmel! Is it held in San Francisco every year? Because if so, next year this time I may be there for school and I could definently go.

It's been held there for as long as I know. It's not technically IN San Francisco, but if you go up 101-N, it's along the freeway when going to SF. Be glad cuz it SUCKS actually driving in SF. It's the city where three rights make a left. .x_x Not that I drive, but I've seen the frustration of my friends. .^^;
