I never had a job, but spending money is something I do quite often when I have it. I think the longest I have ever saved money is a month. -_-;

Yeah, I would do the same if I had that much left. If anything, I would spend more.

It's funny, Before I had a job, I would think of all the clothes, anime, manga, games, etc. I would buy. But know that I do have a job, It's all bills. I sometimes treat myself a little and buy a manga or two or something else I want, but it's nothing close to the list of wants I had before a job. And is it just me, but things are really expensive.

I didn't have a job until i graduated highschool (i went to school for 3 hours a day >_< ) So whilst in highschool I rarely had money to spend on anime, and vidjya games. My first job was just enough to keep me ALIVE. Then I moved, and started a new job, and found myself with some disposable income. then I just went ape **** and spent almost every spare penny I had on anime, and video games. I'm starting to calm down (mainly, because I have bought everything I missed....). Now I find enjoyment out of saving money.
If you dont have a job, and the money is not needed for anything, just spend it. Because You know, you will eventually.

I've already started investing. If you start it early enough, you can retire with a million or two in your bank quite easily.
For example, if you put in, say, 6000$ (that is, 500$ a month) a year in an account that has an interest rate of around 7%, 40 years later you come out with 1 250 000$ (roughly)!
So save early! 5 to 10 years may seem like a long time, but once you get into the really high numbers in your savings account, interest can pile faster than you buy.
You got the rest of your life to buy what you want. You don't necessarily have to do it now.

this wasnt my first job tho, ive had a few but the money from those are long gone.
im the same way as the other guy. before i have money i plan out everything im gonna buy, then when i get the money all the sudden i get cheap, but im just gonna buy everything i want.
and i still have a 250$ check coming in.

I have to agree, so far, you're ahead of the game.
It's better than what I did to myself this year; I spent too much on Christmas for too many people, had a check cashed at an inopportune time, and then leveraged my entire paycheck from one contract to finance a vacation - then had to buy a new car. I'm lucky if I can keep the bills paid until the end of the year.
As far as work history goes, I'm a work-a-holic. I've always had things I've wanted (anime, games, cellular service, etc.) and I've had to buy it all myself. Except for one school year I took off of work, I've been working steadily since I was 14, most times divided up between two and three jobs and going to school full time.

This man speaks the truth. Earlier this year, my friend started his investment (he has the "crazy" idea of being retired at 40) and he's put something around 10.5 thousand in and he'll have all of that made up by the end of this year, which means provided that the markets are good to him and he keeps on top of his game, then he'll probably be able to do quite well financially.
Once I'm done with school, I've anticipated maxing out a Roth IRA for the subsequent five or six years (ending when I'm 29 or 30) and putting an equal amount from the remaining months in other investments. I don't plan on retiring but if I do decide to take the opportunity to retire, I want to make sure there is a cool couple million to rest on.

This summer my mom said that I could start working at her company, seeing as I can make a 3 column, 200-some row (600 cell) spreadsheet way faster than any of her college grade interns can, and I'm only 13.

I wish I had your control.
I end out spending $400 every other week on Games. And using the rest for bills and croceries.

Finding saving accounts at that rate is pretty hard. Even most CDs are usually on average around 4.9%-5.2%. If you have a link where they offer saving account rates near 7%, hook me up.

They're not exactly "savings accounts" like most banks offer, which offer less growth rates than the CDs you mentioned, but these are financial planning/retirement accounts which in exchange for the higher interest, there are more restrictions about withdrawls and they usually carry penalties for early withdrawl.

^ ehh, well i'm a super saver sometimes and others.... i spend like crazy! well i have just recently started up my anime/final fantasy collection... i'm only 17, i'm in my last year of college/high school (whatever you call it) and i don't depend on my parents for money because they are poor as well. And I have to pay off so many things like rent, power, food, books and etc...
Right now i have to pay off my laptop and save to get a house. My plan is to buy a house before I’m 25
But I’ll get people living in it for a few years so they can pay my bills for me
I always seem to have money but that’s only for emergencies. Oh and I have 2 part time jobs but I still don’t get paid very much
teehee~
