Well I think my cell phone contract is over, and am debating whether to switch sevices or stay with cingular... Right now I'm leaning more towards switching services. Can anyone help me out? I would like a nice phone(~$50ish) that isnt going to break on me(sent mine it 3 times so far for replacement...)
I was looking at Verizons phones, they are pretty nice.
Anyone with experience with mulitple cell phone providers, I would appriciate the help. I dont have alot of knowledge in the area, thanks ^_^

Cingular is raising the bar! How could you not stick with them?
Seriously though, I'd stay with Cingular, because they have better reception most of the time.

It all depends where you live. Cingular has crap reception in NYC. Verizon rapes them like nobodies business.

I switched from Cingular to whatever that walkie-talkie phone is...without regret...
Though I guess Cingluar was better. Lots of receptino everywhere, and better wallpapers/ringtones...but that really doesnt make a better phone...the wallpaper/ ringtones I mean.

Ok...let's start by where you live, now we go how much you want to spend per month for x amount of daytime minutes with taxes included and features like handset internet access, messaging, (text/IM/video/email.) mobile to mobile, etc. What are the main features that you want to use on your phone? camera, bluetooth, music player, media player, etc.

I live in south Florida(very populated area). And a music player would be nice to play MP3s on (like my old phone did a couple years ago). The other stuff everyone seems to have(Cingular and Verizon)

How much are you willing to spend on the phone?

See if you can find a good deal on the Samsung A930 for Verizon or the ZX-10 for Cingular, as both are very similar

Go for the Motorola Q. After working my way through a Blackberry 7250, a Treo 650, and a XV6700 (I use smart phones for work) and found the Q to be the best. Stay far away from the XV6700, I went through 3 in five months before I gave up and just bought my Q. Very small, plenty of options and can take plenty of punishment.

Verizon does a poor job with smartphones. The reason you had issues is Verizon's firmware. They lock down everything that loses them money, while crippling functionality.

Exact opposite here. Verizon around here picks up in town, and not much else.
Basically, if you've been happy with Cingular, stay with them. But if you do make a switch, make sure you ask around about certain providers before you do, otherwise you might regret it.
