Has Komm Susser Tod ever been released without being the "Directors Edit" version with all of the hippies at the end? I do like that version, but certain distinct sounds and musical phrases are downplayed or completely removed. The closest I've found is this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmZBOY6Mczk) but I can't get a good rip and it's incomplete.

I do believe that multiple edits were released. One is one the End of Evangelion CD obviously. I think that is the same mix used in the movie. There's also a mix on the VOX CD if memory serves.

EoE soundtrack has the directors edit. From what i can tell, every Evangelion CD I've seen that has Komm Susser Tod on it has the directors edit.

The Director's Edit is the one WITHOUT all the voices in the final 2m20s or so. (If you were saying otherwise, your wording was ambiguous.)

The S2 Works Box-Set and the EoE Single have the 'regular' version. I can't hear any differences in the instrumental part, myself.

@Logan: That avatar... I feel as if I have seen it before. ...Why?

Maybe because you made it. :naughty:

It was in Omake and I thought it would be a neat avatar.

Reichu made it and it's on her site. It's supposed to be an example of sachiel blinking.

There's also this more complicated version, which was my avatar at some point. The really small version that happens to be on my server already:

I could have sworn that the Director's Edit Version was featured on both the EoE OST and S^2, while the Standard Version (the one with all that gay partying at the end) is, for some strange reason, only available with S^2 (and that single you mentioned).

I'm just glad I can affirm the fact I like that song despite the evil lyrics. When I first listened to it I was kinda afraid someone would call me the three letter E word we've all heard before.

That wasn't negated by my statement, was it? ;)

The Director's Edit is on other releases, as well, but I don't feel like digging them out.

AFAIK, it's only on S^2 and Decade.

Nope. It's also on the EoE single, and, in fact, INSTEAD of the Director's Edit.
