I bought the MS Gundam trilogy a long time ago, but it is only in Japanese. Is there a version that has the english dubbed. I have seen a lot of different packages that I can buy, but am unsure if there really is an english movie version. Help??

The VHS Gundam movie trilogy has the english dub I've had the pleasure of never hearing, I heard it was horrible.<Robotron; 'Nuff said.>
I wasn't transfered onto the DVD version...'guess for that reason. Bandai would've proabably needed to have redubbed it anyway, since the DVD version of the movies have changes made from the orginal version, different Japanese dub and all.
The english dubbed movies on vhs worth the price on Amazon. =P If you really want it though, look for "Dubbed in English" on the VHS cover on any few websites that still carry whatever people sell.

What are the major differences between the movies and the TV series? Which is better? Is it worth it?

The ultimate circular question. As with shrotening any 43 episode series to about 7 hours of footage, stuff is going to get cut out. There are points in the TV series that are almost "monster of the week" type of format, others that are devoted to character building for a large number of very minor characters. A lot of this is removed in the movies.
My latest epiphiny(sp?) on comparing the two is this: Which is better dictates your purpose for watching them: if you are watching them to get the back-story so you can continue on with other UC Gundam, I'd recommend the movies; to see how the Real Robot genre sprouted off of the Super Robot genre, I'd say go with the TV series because it incorporates some of the feel of SR but ultimately establishes the RR subgenre.
Either way, I think people should see both versions, just depends on what sort of freetime you have to work with and what your overall goal is.

I prefer the TV series just because theres MORE. More character development. The movies are polished nice but the TV series has pretty much everything the movies have & more.

Man, The VHS dub is way better than the DVD series cast. The voice acting is good, but sometimes it seems like Bandai America just gets lazy with the voice editing (Zeta is a prime example)

I'm a little confused but I take you your talking about the movie trilogy dub on VHS compared to the TV series dub right?
 I find the movie dubs horrid. The translation sucks, the voice acting is poor, the sound production is cheap, & it was casted bad. Its the same cast as other dubs around that time like Orguss TV & Guyver. Which has many of my favorite VAs, but they sucked back then. Lia Sargent was alright as Lalah though. David Lucas doesn't fit Char at all. Sayla sounds like a Mexican or something. Etc. It hurts to watch some many favorites of mine sound so bad.
The TV dub was very accurate translation & it was casted great. This is coming from someone who doesn't like Ocean Group a lot of times.

I couldn't watch the TV dub, it was that unpleasant (and I'm a huge dub-lover and will generally watch almost anything dubbed), and I haven't seen the VHS dub..

The acting and style of the VHS were better than the TV series dub, IMHO since it was done by the same studio that did Cowboy Bebop and the highly fabulous F91 dub... but I'm more used to the TV series voices due to simply hearing them so much.
I still greatly desire to have the TV series subbed on DVD, but outside of a little teaser I got from the Sunrise president at the AX Bandai panel saying "We're considering it" it's not likely to happen.

Sayla is Scandanavian (acurate) the British Bright Noah is awesome!!! The guy who played Char is great...!!!!
I remember having this argument 4 years ago with someone when the dvds were released. I just want the original movie dub........

To each his/her own. I'm just lazy, and I dont feel like reading most of the time. I just like how they had a few diferent accents. It made it believable.

You say that you don't like reading, but nobody has suggested the sub version to you. If your preference is for a dubbed version, then so be it, but I'd have to agree with Levon is stating that I found the TV series dub to be excellent. Amuro continues his unbroken record of not liking anything that I like, I'm pleased to see. :P

Well, actually, earlier this week a friend pointed out that I'm turning a blind eye to a lot of MSG's flaws, so I thought about it and ended up lowering my opinion of the series. It's not perfect, and the original voice actors aren't completely flawless either, was the conclusion I came to. (I change my mind every day, no?) So, in light of this, I watched the first couple episodes of the series dubbed and ended up enjoying the dub a ton. I must say that although I don't find any of the dub actors to stand out (as in "Man, I'm going to watch that scene another 20 times just to hear them deliver that line."), I did find the dub to be remarkably consistent. Minor characters seem to be treated with as much care as the major ones.

Actually the first couple of episodes in the TV series were dubbed somewhat poor & it just gets better & better as it goes. The last two volumes is when I think the dub is at its best.

I skipped ahead and watched the last episode dubbed..
Either way, I think it's definitely a viable way to see the series, although it might leave a somewhat different taste in the figurative mouth of the viewer. They do seem to be going for a sort-of retro 70's-style anime dub, which does fit the series but makes it come across as more corny as a result.
I think it would be very easy/tempting for a viewer of the dub to filter out most of the "irrelevant" dialogue (i.e. Amuro and Char's dialogue during their last battle, which isn't irrelevant at all but might be interpreted as just ranodom 70's anime nonsense-jabber.. come to think of it, that seemed to be part of the popular impression of early dubbed anime.. that the characters babble random semi-sensical fortune cookie lines.. that was definitely the case with Speed Racer.), which is generally the most interesting part.
Anyway, it makes me think more and more that MSG and Wing aren't direct competitiors. MSG is a classic sci-fi anime, with all the little quirks of one, and it's a must-see for anyone interested in that sort of thing. Wing is a popular re-envisioning which updates most of the iconic elements of Gundam and which gets over-critisized by MSG fans, which is typical of a radically different spin on a classic series. (The new BSG sure got a lot of elaborate debunkage from fans of the original, and I'm tempted to agree with them. ST: TNG and onward weren't my cup of tea, although I can sort-of see where people who procraim that series' superiority to TOS are coming from. When a remake attempts to appeal to a newer audience in a manner different from the original series, it can be hard for fandom of the original and fandom of the remake to find a common ground.)
I love both series, if for different reasons.

I have all 3 movies on VHS, and the DVD box. When I feel like reading, I watch the DVDs. It was the first Gundam I saw, it was just so epic. I loved the animation, and the story. It felt like they put thier soul in that. So I guess my judgement has been scewed.
