Ok, here's the story. My sister's computer got fried (verirfied by the fact the capacitors were blown). So I went to buy a new mother board (649 Neo-V Seires ATX mainboard) with a 3.06 Ghz intel Celeron D processor. It had no on board video so I used an old AGP Geforce Card (not sure what type, I think Ultra something) that was on the fried up board. I installed all the hardware into the old case (since it still fits) and turned the damn thing on. Nothing happens. I can hear a internal click from the power supply but nothing else came on. So I'm hoping some one here can help out what's wrong.
A few things I'd like to clear up. Everything is plugged in correctly dammit! Though I do wonder if when a motherboard gets fried, I know it can destroy the power supply too but can it also destroy the power switches on the computer case? Also if the video card is not compatible with it is it normal for the computer not to boot?
Thanks for reading and helping out (if possible).

Have you tried turning it on and off?

hmm...thats quite a predictment. Are you sure everythign is all compatible?
personally....i would just either start from scratch, or, if your sister isnt a techie, just go buy her one of those cheap $350 computers from Best Buy...

No offence to these guys, but you may have better luck finding out what to do here.

Hmm... that shouldn't be. The power supply is also new.
As for buying from Best Buy.. I hate them... bad memories >.>

I'd double check your wiring, make sure everything is plugged into the motherboard (front panel stuff mainly). And your sure the compy is plugged into the wall right (lol) and its on the right voltage settings (little red switch on the back of the PSU)?

^ Yeah, 'cause gamers know so much more about tech than anime fans. I know when I need technical advice, I go ask a gamer every time.
Questions:
1) Do you hear clicks from the memory test, or do you just hear one sound at power on, then nothing else?
2) Do the keyboard lights come on? How about the case lights, drive lights, etc.? Just curious.
3) I gather there's no reaction on the screen at all? Just checking.
4) When you bought the parts, did you verify that everything you put into the machine matches in voltage, speeds, architecture, etc.?
5) Do you have another machine you can plug the power supply into for a quick test? A machine with which the power supply will be compatible?
My guess just from what's written is either:
a) incompatible parts, or
b) blown power supply
What happened to the first machine, anyway?
EDIT:
Hmm... that shouldn't be. The power supply is also new.
You didn't list that in your initial description, so I assumed you used the power supply from the old case. What else did you leave out of that description, anything?

Thanks for the advice guys, especially to Lord Dagoth and Leader Dess, Not only did I double check, I took out and unplugged everything and put everything back. Now it works. So I probably did wired in something wrong but just couldn't see it under all the other damn wires. Thanks again.
