I been mullled this over and I need help on this.
I am following Naurto on CN, After the fight with Gaara vs. Rock Lee somthing just occur to me.
Lee pull out all the stops to fight Gaara, from removing his weight to unlocking the gates. But before that He fought with the village of Sound, and was defeated and I am sure he never at least took off the weights.
So why didn't Lee go all out with the Sound ninjas? Naurto team were in danger and this would have been great chance to impress Sakura.

i think it was a combination of a couple factors. first of all, he knew he had some fights coming up and didn't want to reveal his supreme awesomeness too soon. second of all, by the time he needed his extra speed from taking the weights off and the extra power from opening gates 2-5, he was already too disoriented to concentrate enough to open the gates. if i remember right, he could barely even move after he got "hit" by the sound guy

Actually, he's only supposed to take the weights off when he needs to protect multiple important individuals.

ffl's got it. Just to add, he can only use omote renge when protecting someone (aka Sakura) but he usually tries to end things fast with it. Plus, he can only use ura renge when protecting his way of the ninja. In fact, I think I have it in my sig :) .
Point to note, he has never successfully executed omote renge on anyone. I think there's about 4 instances now. This is a good thing though, as its an almost sure-kill technique. And we don't want to see a 14 year old kill yet. Maybe once he's 17...

^Isn't he only 13 in first series Naruto?
He's 16 in the manga right now, and looks more like Gai than ever...
All I know is that when I use it in the game, I win. All the time. And that it's incorrect because Lee only opened 5 gates in the anime/manga and he got to the 6th gate in Ultimate Ninja for the PS2.

I don't know his age. I just took a lucky guess, thats all. I remember the number 13 coming up a lot b4, so I thought that was the age of the current years (Sakura, Shika, etc) and the upper-years, so to say, are 14. My bad, I guess.
As for the second part of ur reply, I don't know if ur talking about Omote Renge or Ura Renge. If you specify, perhaps I can debate some more. :)

When Lee was fighting Gaara and was about to use the Omote renge, was the pain he suffered in his head due to the damage he recieved earlier from Dosu or simply from the pain caused by the kicks? If it was the former, then I think Lee could have defeated Gaara with just the Omote renge if it was successful.
TBH I think he could have won without the renge, if he had just kept hitting Gaara constantly without giving him the time to reinforce his armour eventually Gaara would have either lost his chakra or lost consiousness.

unfortunately, the pain WAS from the kicks. Normally enemies go flying with the first kick, but with Gaara's gourd on his back, the SUPERAWESOME combo was needed. Since the whole combo was done with the first gate open, it caused some unexpected additional pain.
And you are right that a successful omote renge would do the job. Since the opponent is thrown to the ground head-on, the gourd can't protect Gaara in that situation. Unfortunately, for the sake of character building, Kishi just HAD to give Gaara the perfect defences against Lee. What sucks is that in that point in time, Lee was the second strongest there, and he just HAD to get paired up against the strongest.
The thing Lee needs to work on is thinking straight. Every time, he tries to finish things quickly with Omote Renge, leaving himself open right after. He needs to come up with a better plan. Like knocking out the other 2 sound nins with swift spine punches, and THEN perhaps using omote on Dosu.

^yeah lee should have first taken care of kin, zaku and then gone for dosu. think dosu was the strongest of the 3.

Well, sometimes it's better to take out the strongest first.

Yes, but if he had succeeded in taking out the strongest, Zaku and Kin would've been like nothing to him.

That may not be the case. Would not it be better to take out the weakest first? If you were to take out the weaker ones first, you can then focus all your power, energy, and stamina on the strongest--the one liable to give you the most trouble. If you were to go for the strongest first, you may exhaust your energy and could be injured, then you would be like a sitting duck for the others, who at that point, would be stronger than you.

If Omote Renge is supposed to be a fatal move, why did he attempt it on Sasuke?

Actually, there's argument on both sides. If he went for the weaker ones first, the stronger will be able to se his fighting style/skills, and is in the best position to come up with a counterattack. The element of surprise is very influntial in battle. Zaku's air technique caught Lee by surprise, since he didn't think there was any way for someone to stop the attack. If he knew, Zaku would be the first to hit the dust.
If Omote Renge is supposed to be a fatal move, why did he attempt it on Sasuke?
A number of reasons. To motivate Sasuke and Naruto to become serious and train harder. To let Sasuke copy it with the Sharingan to use later in a combo AND to learn Chidori. To overhype Neji some more before his powers are revealed.
As you can see, all of these reasons are plot-based. There is no reason for him to actually kill Sasuke (except perhaps to clear the way for Sakura ;)).

Lee is bound by nobility and courage, i get where he's coming from you know,
he loves to be the hero, more than naruto if you think about it. Lee still kicks butt.
