AN Meet and Greet at AWA

This is for forum member who are planning on attending Anime Weekend Atlanta between 22 and 24 September and would be interested in a meet-and-greet session to better get to know your other forum members.

I would think that some time late Satuday afternoon or early that evening would probably be best at this moment, though, I don't have this year's program so I don't have what would be a more "concrete" schedule. My suggestions would be from 4:00 to 4:30 PM or maybe 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM to have a meet and greet session to meet everyone interested and then either go our seperate ways or hang out further.

I'm open to suggestions for anything.

Yeah, without the schedule it's hard to plan ahead... Since I've never been to AWA, I'd need to know exactly where and what time this was happening by Wednesday, too (since I'm flying in on Thursday and won't be checking AN again til after the con). I might be game for meeting up if there's gonna be an AN get-together, but I'd just really need to know the whens and wheres.

I'd be entirely up for meeting up with people from AN at AWA. I don't imagine we'll be getting a big group, but few is greater than zero.

If they're going to have registration where they normally do (and there are few reasons why they wouldn't), that will just be far too crowded. I was thinking more in the downstairs lobby, off to the side where one of the panel rooms is located (near the restrooms) would be noticable but still out of the way.

A sign is a good idea; I'll see what I can do, unless someone wants to be in charge of it.

I actually awoke because I remembered I had not gotten out my old programs to try and associate a time and locale to meet up. In the last three years, there are hardly times when there is literally nothing going on and since I am not really aware of everyone's interests, nor am I aware of what this year's program *exactly* looks like, I'll toss out Saturday at 6:30 PM, unless people want to get together for brunch or something like that Saturday morning, most of the labeled programming doesn't begin until 10 AM. But I know few people in our fandom wo are exactly "morning people".

I'll see if I can't shop together a map tomorrow (or rather, later) to illustrate exactly where to meet; time I suppose is just up for discussion.

I'm trying to get a map posted of where the meet and greet will take place; I am unsure that I will be able to make a sign in time (I have two rough exams on Thrsday right before the test; then one more on Tuesday after the con), but I am encountering "User Interface Errors", so it is taking longer than I expected. If anyone else wants to take up making a sign, I'm all for it; I just don't have the time I thought I would.

Don't give yourself a hard time about it. I think you've been way more helpful than anyone else in encouraging me to attend and providing info about the con. I'll try to make the Meetup, but yknow, I could get swept away in a tide of anime goodness... 6:30 Saturday, um, somewhere in the hotel, right? :P
