Just bear with it. October is the expected month for actual canon Naruto animated material.

Untill October, my advice is you check out other anime like Bleach. ^_^

Is it really October?
Then it's 5 weeks for Kakashi Gaiden...
THEN NARUTO II!
And then, a few eps later...
OMFG IT'S SASORI-DANNA AND DEI-CHAN!
Though I hope to God his voice sounds more femme than it did in 136.

If you haven't heard... there is going to be a 90 minute special in October. Many people suspect that it will be Kakashi Gaiden.

So no 5 weeks for Gaiden... unless they decide to go with no Naruto for the the month after or something...

Kakashi Gaiden is scheduled to air on the 5th I believe. There are some fillers than a clip show, then Kakashi Gaiden.

...I really didn't like Gaiden.
It's probably beacause I don't like Kakashi, but story-wise, it was pretty good.

How could you not like Gaiden? It had Yondie. :O

...because I don't really like Yondie, either, because of all the hype.

And because I can't wait for
A) Fat Sasuke
B) Gangsta Shino
and, the most important one:
C) ZOMG SASORI-DANNA! AND DEI!

How could you not like Gaiden? It had Yondie. :OI didn't like it for a few reasons, I didn't mind the story but I didn't like the way it came about being told.

Kakashi's past being mysterious... was cool. Yondaime being mysterious was good too. With Kakashi's past becoming much less mysterious and being told in such an inopportune non-dramatic random sense killed anything that the whole plot might've done for me. It was a side story in every sense of the word, it held no bearing on what we need to know in the story right now... so why were we told?

Probably so Kishimoto can rehash it all over again when we've forgotten it 200 chapters from now! ;)

Thus, why I didn't like it.

Well, mysteries in stories are meant to be solved and revealed over time. In my opinion, the Gaiden is what made those characters come to life moreso and increase the interest with them. A character with no known background just isn't fully developed and does not make as great of an impact as a character that does have a background, even if somewhat sketchy. This is especially important to make side characters and figures stand out, such as Yondaime and Kakashi. Before Kakashi Gaiden came out, Yondaime was barely considered popular in the Shounen Jump polls, but AFTER the Gaiden, his popularity pushed him all the way up to... 9th place in the character polls. It's one thing to only hear tidbits about a supposed "legend", but another thing to see that legend in action. The Gaiden also helped to develop more backstory for Kakashi's character and explain some of his motivations and the reasoning behind much of his actions through out the series. It also sets the stage for Tobi.:) Seriously. It's so obvious that if someone can't see that for theirself, I really don't feel the need to point it out to them anymore. They'll just have to wait for the revelation in-manga.

They'll just have to wait for the revelation in-manga.It might set for stage for Tobi, we'll have to see... but if it does, I'd of rather heard the gaiden revealed at the time of finding out who Tobi is... rather then who knows how many chapters beforehand. It just seems like key information that should have a special place in the story instead of thrown in the way it was...

Sort of like, if Sasuke had announced to all of them in the 3rd episode who he wanted to kill and why, it wouldn't have had as much impact later on, when we find out as he's "dying", .ect

I think these side stories are actually quite good. Revealing information about a character like yondaime makes for a very satisfying read and leaves you wanting more.
