got my copy of 13th DVD "Brotherhood" in mail today and i have now completed watching the series(excluding the film)

1 thing to say:
:) :) Fullmetal Alchemist is one of the best anime i have ever seen :) :)

but is it just me or does it seem the while making ep 46ish the makers suddenly remembered the the series ended at 51? its as if they woke up 1 day and thought "oh no, we finish in 5 eps, and we have all the badguys to kill off and alot of lose ends to tie up"

im not complaining, as such, i LOVED the series; every minute of it. But the ending eps did feel a little shoved together to get everything in there?

anyon share my thinkin?

P.S. the unlucky thing bout disc 13 is theres only 3 eps, and of course that the series is now over :P

I know exactly what your talking about. This is especially true for episode 48 and 49. While I loved the series, Those episodes seemed like too much things happened all at once and while I'm not complaining it did seems a little overwhelming in the least.

I got it and finished it yesterday. I love the series and after seeing it till the end, it made more sense to me what the movie is going to be about. I didn't realize the "rush" near the end until you mentioned it.

I think the reason that the last two Volumes seem to be rushed is beacause they need to pack all the information into the last episodes. The last episodes are the most intense and everything is finally coming out about the truth and so on. Episode 51 being the most rushed of all yet it's one of the greatest episodes in the entire series.

Edit: Even tho they rushed the last 5 episodes they did not tie up all the loose ends. For those who've seen the series completely you should know this. :) So they made the movie which made an attempt to tie up whatever loose ends were left from the series.

I kinda noticed it, but it didn't really bother me. Lust was supposed to be kinda like a quick suprise death so it didn't really bother me. They stretched out the Sloth fight for 2-3 episodes so it was cool. I will say that I was upset that they rushed how Ed found out about the underground city. That seemed fast, but everything else felt about right.

I didn't mind the ending though. I'm used to shows like Gantz that just "stop" moreso than come to a conclusion or have an ending. FMA is so awesome... I love it but it pains me to know that after I finally see the movie, there won't be anything new in FMA for me. It's like losing a friend and all you have left now is memories of the good times (episodes) that the two of you had. Haha, or maybe I just get too "into" the shows that I watch.

^Yeah I'm kinda sad that it all ended too, but if they did carry it any more it fans might lose interest. That's just what I think anyways. You can always watch it again if you have the dvds of it. :) I sure do. Plus read the manga.

The way Lust died kinda reminded me of Greed's death it was too quick. As for Sloth that one worked out nicely.

I wish they would have made the series alittle bit longer though. I guess all good things have to come to an end sometime though.:( It truly is a good anime series! I had just viewed the final DVD on Saturday and the movie also. Episode 51 is a really awesome episode. The movie is really good too! I liked how it ended. Alot did take place in the last few shows and even the movie. In a way if they would have made the series longer and not cram so much into the last so many episodes, it would have made it a little better to answer any questions or to see how things played out.

I've said this already..BUT if they had made FMA longer people may have lost interest in it. So 51 + The Movie worked out nicely. :) Then there's the OVA's which I hope someday can be released.

Funny every time I look at the title of this topic. I always think "unlucky for some" means people who buy this crap.

^ So very mean! :P

Sure the series ends at Volume "13" BUT that does not make it unlucky since the movie would make disc 14. Sorry had to make that little comment.

You are right! It is 14! But I also suppose you are right about making it too long and people might have lost interest. But I am also hoping for the FMA OVA will come here soon!
