Looks like those of us who spend $150 - $200 on the 'dubtitled' limited edition box set will have to settle with the crappy translation... or spending another $100 plus on rebuying the singles with the corrected subs... no replacement discs program says Bandai.

Darn it.
At least we still have our great translated Ideon!

LoL. I am admittingly an amateur translator compared to the veterans Bandai can hire... yet our Ideon subs are a hell of a lot more accurate than the crap we got in the Zeta box set... Even I know that "Kamille!" doesn't mean "What" or other assorted words in english...

Eh, as long as I know what they're saying. >.>
Doesn't excuse such crap, but nothing you can do about it. Except $hell out.
Which I won't.

Well at least we have another SEED series to look forward to before they hand ZZ off to a tribe of Bushmen for translation.

To be blunt, nobody was ever entitled to a disc exchange program. It would have been nice if Bandai had actually done it, but their responsibilities ended when you bought the box set. They already made their profit, and in return you received a product that is free of defects. The fact that the later version is better is annoying, but I fail to see how this is a "screw you", rather than just business as normal.
It would have been great if they would exchange the discs, but they have no such obligation.

Can't really fault them for that. Replacing 10 discs is not something I'd imagine is financially feasable, especially on something like Zeta Gundam which I'd question the profitability of.
On the bright side, in the event Beez pick up Zeta for a UK release, we'll probably get the correct subs. My waiting may pay off. ^_^

I wonder if there is any possibility that since I can turn my subtitles off if they'll refund me $100 and take back all of that garbage the Zeta boxset came with?

haha, this dub/sub really that bad? anyways, why would you guys want the boxset even though you've already bought the single releases? unless you're rich, i can understand...
Bernard, another seed? fill me in buddy... :)

Well it isn't that we bought the individual releases first. If we did that we'd be retareded. It was that they released the boxset first about a good 2 years ago. In fact, it originally only going to be that $200 boxset. But because of the sucess of the DVD sales, Bandai decided to re-release them individually.
Personally I liked the boxset because of all the crap that came with it, but I hate how the translation sucked. I'll probably end up buying the singles when I get a job.

I think you have things mixed up, we have the box set & want to exchange the discs for the new discs that the single release got because they include accurate subs.
Most of us bought the box set months before its release & Bandai diddn't tell us some things like that the subs were roughly dubtitled & the OP & ED songs were replaced. Also many people(like me) had defected discs, mostly volume 4.
The box set was very cool, but flawed.

Yeah, same here with the discs. I mean it was good and all, but the discs sucked.
I think this Bandai's way of making pay for a ZZ release before they even announce it.

Stargazer perhaps? I believe that's what the Gundam SEED OVA is being called. I've yet to pay any attention to it.

I think he's talking about the painstakingly slow release of SEED DESTINY. Zeta's first delay, after all, was the licensure and release of SEED.
Even though it suck the openings were replaced and the subtitles are shotty at moments, I guess I must be the only one upset with Bandai over all of the extras they threw into the box. Fortuately, my Disc 4 is in good shape.

If you mean to say that you're not too fond of the pencil sharpeners and poster, I'd agree. Those might be considered rather cheap "extras."
Plus, their quality control failed again, as one of my pencil sharpeners had its torso backward. My disc 4 also glitches on some players. Originally, I meant to send for replacements for both the disc and the pencil sharpener, but I figured that the sharpener's no big deal and that, for all I know, the replacement disc they send might be even more glitched (The customer support representative wasn't sure whether the replacements they were sending out were new pressings or from the same defective pressing and had heard of people recieving discs that were even more glitched, so I stuck with mine.)

I remember when my friend bought the box set. I had seen the whole series fansubbed years ago. About 3 episodes into this boxset I was amazed at how bad the subs were. I have been buying the individuals and the subs are alot better.

Those pencil sharpeners cost around $40. There not cheap extras. I thought they were a great extra & I had no problem with any.

Eh, some of them are good, others easily break(my Zeta one's in 4 pieces). Depends on the MS shape and size, which obviously all vary.
I find the Quebley works best as an actual sharpner, it doesn't pulverized my pencil tip.

It's not that I thought they were of cheap construction or lack of QC but more or less just kinda ho-hum. I was excited about them at first but when I opened them up and checked them out, I was kinda disappointed. If they offered a box set release without them (and the poster) for about $100 less, I would have much rather purchased that. As far as the poster, my complaints about it are merely me being an disgruntled: I thought the design and artwork would have made it a much better extra for the Zeta movies (given it was all nice and shiny), not the gritty yet smooth appearence of the actual TV series animation.
I guess what I am getting at is that it was too new and shiny for me and didn't really remind me of the classic look and feel of Z TV's animation. Again, if they left it out of the box for a cheaper release, I wouldn't have minded at all.

Use super glue:P Thats what I did for the Zeta, the parts can't just snap in or else they will fall off.
They are better than I thought they would be, I was expecting them smaller. The detail is pretty good. They are very cool to display.

4 pieces that weren't suppose to come off in the first place. =<
I've tried krazy gluing, I'll try again.
^And yeah, my shelves wouldn't be the same without 'em.

Whew! I'm glad I didn't get the box set. I'm getting them individually. And to plug our host's sale, currently the Gundam Z DVDs are 40% off on animenation.com!

It's as if the gods of fate didn't want me to have that boxset. I found at least four of them at Fry's, and they all sold out before I could get the chance to buy one.
Of course, I bought the singles not knowing they had more improved subtitles than the ones included in the boxset. Although I'd still get the boxset if I could do it over again, at least I still got treated to a wonderful series.

Eh, I got the boxset a year and a half after it was released, "limited" simply means waste your life away online even more, looking for the thing after they're sold out.
'Tas made even more difficult when I needed to pay by check.

Eh.. I actually think that gluing a pencil sharpener to the bottom of each "figurine" seemed more like an after-thought. It makes it all more juvenile.
I'd be embarassed at my age to place them in plain view.
