Isn't that Maria-sama ga Miteru? I haven't seen that one before, the actual wmv is pretty good quality. The other parody that involves Maria-sama ga Miteru and the NGE opening sequence was made by these guys: http://m3animationbox.web.fc2.com/ and based on the name in the URL (MMM), I'd guess it was the same people.

Marimite is one the "nothing much happens, but it does it very stylishly" anime titles. Some of its popularity seems to stem from overheated fapboy imaginations working overtime on the schoolgirl crushes.

Beyond the fact that NGE gets paired with everything by the fans, rather like all the NGE characters get paired with each other in all possible combinations, I don't really know why MGE/Marimite seems to have caught on rather than, say Magic Knight Evangelion or Magical Lyrical Evangelion, or...

To answer you somewhat, Tines, I think it's because of the "religious" aspects of EVA and those of Marimite are apparently compatible or something (or the fact that they have them at all), plus...um...yeah, that's all I got.

If you rationalize marimite you'll find a crappy proposal. Yet I think it's a great show, but can't describe exactly why.
