Another hurricane- Ernesto- (doesn't seem to bad, category 1).

Got all my shutters up- by myself :$%&#!:

Yesterday coming back from practice, I saw these gigantic lines at each gas station. Honestly, where are these people going to go? are they taking a road trip to orlando for the hurricane, is there any sense in that? Honestly when the power is out (has to be less than a week), must you drive to publix. Don't worry you won't get a disease from walking, and considering every interesction has a cop in the middle, you'll probably be safe too.

In case you need to drive, good news:
Port Everglades is closed to public- only police/sherrifs, port everglade people, and gas tankers are permitted. So we'll have gas and most every station has a generator now- which is good considering the millions of gallons of gas they have to power the generator.

Also Know, when at gas stations, don't get to comfy. Thieves are out theiving. I don't exactly know how this works, but don't ignore your car when your pumping gas, or someone might:

1) open the door
2)sit down
3)take everything
4) lock the door (because your an idiot)
5) close it
all with out getting your attention.

Atleast the roads won't be too excessively flooded. The canals were dropped about a foot or two. Ernesto is suppose to drop like 10 inches of rain.

and for anyone still putting shutters up alone... I know what a pain it is.

BTW, I think FTL in't and MIA are closing secuirity checks at 6:00, so if your flying... umm... you had better leave now :|

I can't believe, in a crowded of 100 cars, someone can sneak in and jack your valuebles. I mean really. Supposedly they are just standing around- you'd think you catch on eventually.

Yeah, but in the rush, it's hard to catch anyone, you know? There's hustle and busle (sp?) everywhere, and it's a little hard to notice. Iono. But good luck with whatever you do to get out of the storm.

Thank God it's not coming anywhere near me. *knocks on wood*

At least I now live closer to my son so that if anything should happen, we can evac together.

Let's pray and hope that Ernesto doesn't do too much damage.

master terrence
August 29th, 2006, 03:13 PM
thats true, its just a tropical storm, but by the looks of things, people are making it out to be andrew. From the news and weather report though it seems that it is going to upgrade when it hits me.

I'm hoping it won't come up here to S.C. (it probably won't...)

master terrence
August 29th, 2006, 03:35 PM
if its on the edge, it probably won't die out (remember Ivan v.v )

but you never know, it could head to mexico for all we know

Lol, I frankly doubt I'll get hit by Ernesto, sorry guys!

Though I do believe there is a small hurricane down at the Pacific that was close to hitting Guerrero but it didn't. Right now it's been pretty damn sunny in Mexico City considering this is supposed to be the rainy season. Heh, guess Tlaloc got sick of sending us heaps of hail.

Hurricane Ernesto is actually a giant Cuban. Did you see it try to get to Florida? Swim Ernesto Swim!

ummmmm not really. Koala, never come to the bech with me, your so going to be thrown over the pier.

Atleast this storm is dieing down, the opportuinity of it becoming a hurricane is closing to. Probably still miss school because of flooding.

Tropical storms are kind of fun to be in, if you're at home, and the winds aren't so strong that they blow your house down

There's no chance of it hitting Arizona right? I'm pretty sure. If it's not anywhere near New Mehico, then, I'm pretty sure it won't come here.

There's no chance of it hitting Arizona right?

I'd say you're fine.

I'm getting 30 MPH winds and squalls.

Later today It'll just be hours of hours of thunderstorms and winds.

It's interesting-
you never hear a forecaster say "100% chance of rain". They are always kind of ambiguous. Well between 2-5pm, the forecast is 100% chance of rain

Lord Dagoth
August 30th, 2006, 04:24 PM
Turns out that it is going to hit SC, but it won't be too strong by then. So I guess I'm safe *whew*. And I might get out of school!

master terrence
August 30th, 2006, 04:32 PM
ya, I got two days off school.

Hurricane John is on the coast of mexico in the pacific. That thing is big and powerful.
