Are the 3 Gundam Seed movies just summaries of the series? I loved the series, I haven't seen the movies but want to. I think that usually movies have better quality anime than the series.

Yes, the 3 Seed movies are just compilation movies with only perhaps a few seconds of new animation here and there, not whole new scenes as the MSG and Zeta movies had.

They're generally considered mediocore compliation movies in that the plot becomes quite difficult to follow for anyone who has not already seen the series, and character development is also mostly lost.

However, if you've seen the series and don't own it or would like to refresh your memory/relive the series' best moments without rewatching the whole thing, the movies are a good way to satisfy the urge for some Gundam Seed.

If you do own the series, however, the movies aren't really worth the money unless you're a completionist. (And this is coming from someone who owns the Zeta series and has seen the Zeta movies fansubbed yet plans to purchase the DVDs of the Zeta movies nevertheless, indicating that the Seed movies work as an alternative to purchasing the series, not as a companion to it or as a substitute for the initial viewing.)

Ahhh. I could never imagine replacing the Gundam Seed series with 3 movies that don't do it justice...No way!
