I'm looking to buy the Saint Seiya series, bt I'm no sure of the best way to go about doing it. Sould I get the the two "Collections" which add up to the first 60 episodes, or should get the indivisual DVD's? I think there up to 12. What episode does that go up to?

Also are they going to release the entire series? I don't really want to invest my money and time if only half or so of the series will be available.

go here (http://animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=194739) if you still want to get it i hope you go with the 2 bricks. it would be a lot easier to get than finding all 12 dvds, which i think dont go as far as the bricks go.

The rest being released looks extremely doubtful.

Actually, the 12 individual discs and the two brick collections stop at the same place, ep. 60, as that's all that DiC licensed. Like Hisoka already said, the probablilty of getting the rest of the series now is very low.

DiC licensed Saint Seiya to create Knights of the Zodiac (the edited dub version). ADV was just releasing what DiC had, just like with Sailor Moon's first two seasons. But it seems Knights of the Zodiac failed and I guess DiC decided it wasn't worth the risk. Another factor may be Toei (http://animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/company.php?id=145) trying to enter the R1 market by releasing it's own series on DVD, but that failed as well.

Well, in that case...Does anybody know where I could go to look for some decent fansubs?

The DVDs are past where every english speaking fansub group has gotten. Sadly the only option available is to buy bootlegs for 61-114. :(

So I know this is a horrible thing to ask, but....know were I should start looking?

Dear Users,

I have been able to locate boot leg copies, but I want to make sure that I am buying the proper episodes. I know the first two bricks almost complete the golden saint saga.

What series shows the remainder of that saga?

Thanks,

Kevin

Okay, I'll give you the run down. The entire original TV series can be found in three sets. Sanctuary (1-73), Poseidon (74-99) and Asgard (100-114) are the names of the arcs. Now the ADV (licensed release) only goes up to episode 60 (the two bricks) which means that you'll literally need to buy all three HK sets if you want to see the whole thing. Then comes the newer stuff like Hades which is actually all fansubbed and can be found anywhere. If you're not the downloading type then you can find the HKs for that too. Check your PM box.

The rest of the episodes are available online. No need to buy bootlegs.

There are different versions (as always), some better than others. I'm pretty sure the ones floating around to download are the worst of the worst. But I could be wrong. If they're watchable, I'd go with those. *shrugs*

The rest being released looks extremely doubtful.

Now this quote from two years ago is down right depressing. Cross out "doubtful" and add in NEVER.

*sigh* I hope that they at least release the Hades Ova's here if nothing else

Wait, the two collections are bricks and not thinpaks?

^ They are thinpaks. I have seen them in person numerous time.

i realize this sounds really stupid, but what is a HK? Plus, the website you showed me is either back ordered or the Hades saga. I am uninterested in skipping over major plot points, if at all possible.
