I can't remember the title

Hi everyone, first post. I watch two animes like 10 years ago when I was 5, and I remember I loved them. However, I can't remember the titles. :( Nor can I remember much about them but I do remember I really liked them. Can anyone help me out as to what the titles for these two are?

1. It has a brother and a sister who are out in space when a organism attacks their ship. The brother gets infected and becomes the host for the alien parasite and evnetually gets back to earth. Then a wage rages on and the military discovers the only weapon to kill these aliens is fire. Eventually the sister kills her brother when he reveals himself long enough for her to kill him, and killing the alien.

2.There is a boy and his mother walking in the desert I think. The mother has a coupon or something else for the boy so he can become like an android and live forever. A bunch of stuff happens, and the boy eventually finds that his mother is now like a sex slave cyborg to some dood. And he has a friend who has bombs inside of him, and sacrafrices his life for the boy so he can save his mom or something.

If anyone could help me out, I'd really aprreciate it. ^_^

The second one is the first Galaxy Express 999 movie. But they were walking in a blizzard, not a desert.

Can you still get the Galaxy Express 999 movie, or the series, for that matter?

The first two Galaxy Express motion pictures were released on American VHS, but they've never been released on American DVD. None of the GE999 TV animation has ever been officially released in America.
