I might join the one at school if I have time and if they do anything useful.

If they have one at the college, I'll probably join, although it matters what people are in it. I dont like wearing cat ears and such all the time. A buddy of mine who graduated, said he didn't join his College Anime Club because they all cosplayed....ALL THE TIME.

Call me crazy, but that sounds a LOT like the anime club SWMNBN herself is a part of. In other words, be careful if you do decide to join; those people truly are nuts.

Yeah I know. But I hope I can get a ring of anime budds when I get there. I swear, I wanna have a marathon of Noir with someone else too.

I wish my college had one. I've never been to one, but would really like to join. My college is huge, but has only a few clubs and they all sound boring.

I used to be in two. One was a small group which broke up when several members went to college. That was unfortunate, because it was a lot of fun.
The other was eventually ended, though I didn't like it muh anyway. Most members were Inuyasha fangirls who insisted that we always watched dubs and then talked loudly through them so I could never hear what was going on. Also, most of what we watched was taken from my library's collection, so I had already seen it.

The rule with my club is NO DUBS. We always watch subs....and we mostly watch fansubs anyways, so there is no choice.

Last year at High School, a friend and I ran an anime club. The only Dub we watched was a Sailor Moon dub, and that was because we were all feeling like making fun of something. We all knew how bad the dub was.
We also saw Monster Rancher, but that was for a noglastic sense.

I do not think I will be attending Oushi Anime meetings anymore. I am just not a night person. And I am a dubbie. And my college years are over. I loved going there during my two years at USF and I made wonderful friends and had a lot of fun. But other things take priority in my life now.
But if there were a local anime club that met during daylight hours on a day that I was off work, I would definitely consider attending.

Yeah, Im in the anime club at school. The stuff we watch is (or used to was) good, but last year was mediocre at best. That's why this year, Im going to offer up some fansubbed series like Haruhi Suzumiya, Keroro Gunso, Welcome to the NHK, and some others. Its like what we were watching in previous years werent the best series we actually could have shown then.

Well, let me tell ya a bit about our club (named AniMeSa, the college is Mesa state, and well Anime sa simply means "It's anime"). it was started a number of years ago by a few people who wanted to get together to watch anime, it was loads different, for instance they watched a bunch of bootlegs/fansubs and without rights. now, the club has more than 30 members, we watch only liscensed things (on campus that is, off campus, when we get together on our own, anything goes) and most of the time with subtitles.

I ran a club for three years in high school with an iron fist. It was good times.
I got to college and sought one out, found out it was absorbed by the General Geek Club and I joined that. I made a healthy number of friends who were into anime and not into anime. That club disbanded; I was on the committee to disband it and it felt great. We've talked about starting a small anime club, but no one can get schedules to match it seems. Our main club activity right now is making fun of weeaboos.

I'm a member of Kitsune Udon, a private club meantioned above, The three of us (thats alll of the official memebrs there is so far) don't like huge crowds and we can only watch in our living room. But I like it that way, you know the people well and get along and can all agree on what and how to watch.

I was in one at my highschool last year but I found it to be full of idiots. Not because of their selection as thats prefrance but I go to watch anime not to talk to those idiots as the media plays like this is some sort of social event. Until I find more people like my brother to watch anime with (Calm, Mature, QUIET) then I wont watch crap with anyone else. Same with the movies, I am shocked at how much my friends make themselves into idiots at hte movies.

That my main reason for not joinign public clubs. All of us are quiet for the most part and we always discuss variuous parts f the episode AFTER it is over. IF we have guests it is my job to keep them quiet though, I took teh "security" position

Yes, I belong to an anime club at my high school. The only problem with it being open to anybody is that a lot of noisy ADHD-induced freshmen and people who are only interested in college credits join. That was why a few of my friends created a deeper, secret chapter to our school's club, one that only the most dedicated members can join.

Never needed to belong to an anime club because most of my friends love anime and enjoy watching it together.

With all due respect, it sometimes is fun to mkae fun of crappy anime in a club. That was the only reason we watched dubs or bad anime in our club, but you just have to be in a certain mood I suppose. AS much as I like sitting down and just watching anime, I do like having a bit of fun with it sometimes.

No doubt it is but when your with someone who doesnt sync with the group they open their big mouth at the wrong times.
