I have no pictures, really, and my Gundam collection's rather small...
Gundam Wing vol. 1-10 + Endless Waltz
Mobile Suit Gundam movie trilogy boxset
Zeta Gundam vol. 1-5
G Gundam Complete Collection 1-2

What defines a collection? DVDs? Model Kits? Books? All of the above? I know I'm more than interested in seeing some other collections; though its a shame that a lot of my model kits are boxed up at my parents house (I only have 5 completed kits here at my place ...)

As far as DVDs go:
Mobile Suit Gundam Movie Trilogy Box
Gundam: The 08th MS Team Complete Collection
Gundam 0080 Complete Collection
Gundam 0083 Complete Collection
Zeta Gundam LE Boxset
Char's Counterattack
Gundam F-91
G Gundam Complete Collection I
Gundam SEED DVD 1-10 + Artbox
Gundam SEED Movie 1
I have some other stuff, but wonder bother listing it here, mostly little figures I picked up in Japan, but I'd rather just post a picture. Although I lack a digital camera at the moment.

I have a much bigger MISA collection but these are the only ones I keep up. My Nu Gundam one is in pieces.
The Gundam Wing tapes are the very first Gundam thing I bought (outside of the MISA stuff). I wanted to buy the MS Gundam tapes but they were always like $25-$30, while the Wing tapes were only $10. My cable didn’t have Cartoon Network until halfway through when Seed was airing. So buying tapes were the only way to see Wing for me. My first experience with Gundam though is when I saw the last few mins of Char's Counterattack on a taped VHS.
So anyway the top picure includes:
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Vols.1-8
Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 Vols.1-4
Mobile Suit Gundam Seed Destiny Vols. 1 & 2
Gundam Movie 3
Gundam Char's Counterattack
Gundam F91
Mobile Suit Gundam: The Blue Desiny
Gundam Wing Vol.s 7-12
Mobile Suit Gundam: Journey to Jaburo
Mobile Suit Gundam: Encounters in Space
Gundam: Federation Vs. Zeon
Mobile Suit Gundam: Zeonic Front
Mobile Suit Gundam: Gundam Vs Zeta Gundam
Gundam Battle Assualt 2
and Some Newtype USA issues with Seed on the cover.

Maybe I should post pictures of my firearms then?
Nah, I've got a good amount of stuff and having to get pictures and stuff "organized" (I had to pull all of those books and magazines off of my bookshelf and I'm anal retentive about presentation of stuff like that), it took me probably near twenty minutes to take pictures and upload them, and then the time difference between posts as I was adding text to the images.
Actually, I think my goal for this year at AWA is going to try and complete as much of my NewType 100% collection as I can. Anyone happen to know where I can find a list of all of the books? Because of the varying print cycles of the ones I already have, they list a few different books each time.

Yeah, I'm not too hot on the EW redesigns myself, although the Wing Zero does look more "iconic" and a better "angelic" contrast to the "demonic" Epyon.
However, the Wing Zero Custom is the Wing Zero Ver. Ka. Could you be thinking of the Wing Gundam Ver. Ka.? I'm personally not too fond of that one.. my least favorite incarnation of either Wing or Wing Zero.

However, the Wing Zero Custom is the Wing Zero Ver. Ka. Could you be thinking of the Wing Gundam Ver. Ka.? I'm personally not too fond of that one.. my least favorite incarnation of either Wing or Wing Zero.
As always I seem to agree with Levon. WG zero is one of my favorite gundams as far as design goes.
And to the above. Not so, the wing gundam version ka is almost like a cross breed between wing and zero. It is a very nice design. Very sharp looking mobile suit.

That's the Wing Ver. Ka., whereas the one seen in Endless Waltz is Katoki's version of the Wing Zero.

What do you people use to paint your Gundam? Do you use the special markers for Gundam Models?

Hand paint & spray scans. I'v bought a few airbrushes but they are so cheap & crappy, one diddn't even work. Whenever I plan to buy another airbrushit will be a really great one, with a compressor.
I'm gonna try get a digital camera soon & take images of my models.
I want people to see the rare Dunbine Master Grade^_^ I added lights in its eyes which look really cool. I painted it to look like a bug, by mixing various blues, greens & silver. Although what I wish I had done was paint it all silver & then get some clear green & blue paint and paint over the silver. I think that would look even more like a bug.

Thats all dependent on what Im doing with the kit its self. If Im just going with all standard stuff. Full wash, fill and sand all panel lines, clean up any abnormalities in the molds, single stage primer, two coats paint maybe one coat clear/sealer. Then it may take me a month or so of steady work.
You might hit it lucky kit wise at a good toy store or hobby shop. All the supplies you can pick up at any hobby/crafts store and a few things you can make yourself. I always buy everything online since there is no hobby shops in my area that have a good selection of products I need and they always jack up the prices. Alot of the stuff I cant even get local like mr surface or some of the mr colors.
I never did like that whole "level" thing. There was never a such thing as levels till the port over to the US. Its all about grade. No grade, high grade, master grade, perfect grade and then the ex kits.
I think my limit would be around $150. I'm sure I could get a good one for that price.
In that case I would suggest checking up on the testors mighty mini setup. Comes with a good quality brush as well as a smaller electric compressor.

Question:
What do you people use to paint your Gundam? Do you use the special markers for Gundam Models?
Believe it or not, none of mine pictured are painted - all straight up and out of the box. The Nu-Gundam I did, I used the yellow Gundam marker on it, though, I didn't prime the pieces, so they have a deep yellow. For the detail lines, I use thin lined black pens. There is a special Gundam line of pens; however, I have found that most similar hobby pens are about the same quality.

The compressor, as well as the mess associated with an airbrush, has what's really kept me back from buying an airbrush kit, though I did plan on buying one for my birthday a couple of years ago.
How much mess is there from the spray paints you use? What kind of non-spray paints and brushes do you use? That migth be a more economical option for me at the moment

Not much of a mess at all, what I do is get a good sixed box & place them into the box & stray away.
You don't need thinner for stray cans if thats what your asking.
I only use Enamel paints.

Two HG models I've built so far.
V2 Buster Gundam
http://www.stevethefish.net/life/models/thmv2bustergundam.jpg
required only minimal painting--injection molding
F91 Gundam
http://www.stevethefish.net/life/models/thmgundamf91riflebazooka.jpg
required a bit more painting, but still fairly negligible--injection molding
.
I posted a link in the Models thread to my models page on my homepage, but here it is anyway:

Personally, I'd go for either the Master Grade F91 (http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN945070) , Zeta 2.0 (http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN939597) or the Nemo (http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN941042) . However, I would say wait for the MG Crossbone Gundam (http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN945936) to be released. I love its design.
Among your choices though, I'd say go for the MG Freedom. The 1/100 Endless Waltz Gundams are all pretty terrible kits, while the 1/144 are not too spectacular. If you really want a Wing kit, go for the Wing Gundam Ver. Ka (http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN923714)

Further to that, if you did go for the MG Freedom, personally, I'd go for the extra finish version (http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN938527). I know it says discontinued on hlj, but you can get it for the same price on ebay. ;)

Actually, I'd stay away from Extra finish versions. Typically, the finishing causes some nasty sprue scars, which makes the kit look worse. Add to that the fact that you can't paint or detail it (unless you strip the kit of the finish, which defeats the purpose), and the nasty pricetag. Extra finish does not justify a pricetag of more than double the price. The versions on HLJ differ greatly, the regular edition being $32, while the EF version being $68.
I'd rather get 3 cheap priced MGs, rather than one overpriced one.

Mobile Suit Gundam Movie Trilogy (VHS)Keep hold of this. This is the only commercial copies that contain the original Japanese soundtrack with english subtitles. The differences in audio between the vhs and the re-recorded dvd versions are huge (sound effect changes, music missing, different voice acting etc).
As pictured below I have the trilogy on vhs in a very nice boxset.

lol :P , I remember back when I had only 5 unbuilt kits in my closet, seems like such a long time ago now. At the moment I have 59 unbuilt kits comprised of:
- 1 PG
- 1 BS 1/60
- 6 MG's
- 3 HG 1/100's
- 28 HG 1/144's
- 19 NG 1/144's
- 1 Resin 1/550
Built, I have 11 at 1/144 (mostly from wing and endless waltz), the four 1/550 mobile armors, Neue Ziel, Dendrobium, Val Varo, and the Alpha Azeiru. I also have 1 built MG Gelgoog v1.0 and the HG 1/100 Deathscythe Hell.
The rest of my collection consists of MSIA's (again, mostly from Wing and Endless Waltz) and a whole load of FIX figures; including the entire Cosmic Region set and 6 Zeonography ones.
DVD wise: I have the 0079 Movie trilogy, 08th MS Team and 0083 Box Sets, Zeta, Char's Counterattack, F91, G Gundam, Endless Waltz, SEED Special Edition 1-3.

Wraith Gundam
February 12th, 2009, 03:14 AM
Mostly I've bought them when I can get them for a good price, some were in bulk for xmas and birthdays and others were because I'd spent a while looking for them and the opportunity presented itself, as was the case with the 1/550 Apsaras II kit and the VP Sword Impulse conversion.
I'm planning on spending some time building them over the summer when I finish college.

I see, that makes sense.
While I don't have anywhere near that number of unbuilt kits, I do have plenty as well. For me, it's an issue of time. I'd have some disposable cash lying around and decide I want a model kit, then by the time I get it, I'm busy enough that I don't have the time (or want to take the time) to get them built. To keep my closet from looking like Wraith's, I keep the unbuilt kits to a limit under twenty (especially since I primarily only build Master Grades) and I put myself on purchasing restriction so unless it's an unbelievably good deal, I don't get back-logged too much.
When I was younger (like, 14-16) I could buy an MG kit and have it done in the afternoon; could do a couple HGs a weekend or a couple BB senshi in a couple hours. As I got older, I started stretching the build and details out more to enjoy it, but when I got to college I didn't dedicate the same amount of free time to it, so I would still buy the occasional kit and they'd build up.
