View Full Version : Possibility of ever seeing EoE in theaters again

I was thinking for a while, I'd do almost anything to see End of Evangelion in a movie theater. Although I've already seen the movie on small screens several times it is still quite powerful, and I can only imagine how much more powerful it would be on a big screen.

So, is there any chance that EoE will ever be shown in theaters again, in English or Japanese? If not, I think I heard once (may have just dreamed it, I tend to have wish-indulging dreams, or at least they start out wish-indulging, but then things go wrong) that there are theaters that you can organize events to go to for them to show a particular movie. It may be worth the money to do it. Though if that were done, it would probably have to be from the DVD, and the quality of which would suck donkey doo.

So, erm... yeah, is it possible?

That would be tops, but I very much doubt it, especially where I am.

Though, its always worth imagining...

HAH! If they showed EoE - where I live - in theaters, the entire series would be blacklisted for the next 4 centuries! DAMN COUNTRY!

I recall that about three years ago on this board some members from the NY area got to see a 'theatrical' presentation of EoE at some anime convention. I suppose something like that would be your best bet of seeing EoE as it was intended.

Where my mom used to live, they had this club house with a mini-theatre inside. A friend and I rented it for a day and watched some episodes we liked and End of Eva, it was pretty fun.

As I take it you were using the DVDs to watch it, what was the video quality like? Did it look okay or blurry and blown-up?

It's been about 2 years, so I don't remember clearly, but I don't recall having any problems with the visual quality of the movie, I remember it looking just fine.

EoE's the sort of thing that you'd only tend to get at art-house Japanese animated cinema seasons by now. It would be nice if there were an English sub for the Renewal version.
